Diego, amazing stuff. Was wondering if you can talk about internal transfer in big tech to PM from a non PM role (such as Finance)? What is the process, do people already inside have an easier interview than outside getting in? How the levels transfer (E.g a senior Finance person wanting to switch to PM, does he/she get to keep to the same level or will have to down level given their lack of PM experience)? Thank you.
Hi! Great question! To check levels, this might help see the different levels of PM: www.levels.fyi/?compare=LinkedIn,Microsoft&track=Product%20Manager Here's a guide to help you make a transition: pmdiego.substack.com/p/if-you-want-to-break-into-product
Where do data analysts and engineers come into that breakdown that you showed? E.g if the role is more of a “data and AI” product manager, and if I’m covering machine learning models and standard data models (e.g no ML, but smarts still needed)?
Looking forward to crushing one soon. These are helpful tips. Quick question Diego, a counterpart PM and I both have a large P0 feature that needs to be delivered. However, between the two of me and my teams i'll only be able to deliver 1 of the 2 P0 features-- the feature on my roadmap or the feature on my counterpart’s roadmap. What do I do?
Hi Arekam! Quantify the ROI of both and go with the one that will have a larger impact to your OKRs. Just because both are high priority, doesn't mean they have the same impact. Quantify it and make the decision based on that
Are the interviews for these roles the same as other product interviews you have preps for? From my experience doing this the “product metrics” are a mix of model performance metrics and business outcome metrics
@@PMDiegoGranados hey Diego, is it possible to get into the role of a 'technical product manager ' after an mba. Or is only the option of a general product manager possible?

Thanks to the AI that brought me here, and thanks to you for sharing, human being! Ahah
Do you recommend doing short AI/ML based courses from reputed universities to get a clear understanding of the concepts?
I have a question, is a masters degree in computer science necessary to become an AI/ML PM ?
I have an engineering degree and an MBA.
Many articles saying Product Management is going away. Is that correct?
Hey Diego, is a degree in computer science essential to become an AI ML Product manager, or will an mba suffice ?
Neither are needed :)
