hello darling ones. I just want you to know that I DID watch the whole thing whilst making this video (and once after too) and I fully appreciate the song and the instrumentalists. I'm a bass player too, so I especially enjoyed the bassist's performance as part of this beautifully arranged and performed through-composition. Thing is, this channel is all about singing and vocal technique which is why I cut it up the way I did to 'cut to the chase'. I'm really sorry to disappoint those who don't enjoy this style of reaction/ analysis- and i'm so thrilled and grateful for the people who liked it! Lots and lots of love, TFVM 💜
reactor tips : after a pause especially mid vocals please go back a bit before resuming for song continuity, your viewers will appreciate it :), I appreciate your expert analysis but unfortunately it seems like you did not have much respect for the music , the music giving context to the vocals is important, this song being the most reacted to song on YT with many reactors getting over 2.5 Million views and Nightwish having the largest and most passionate fan base on YT, Floor Jansen is a voice master and has been a vocal coach in between bands prior to NW, many & I mean very many highly respected and seasoned voice pros have reacted to this song and Floor's flawless technique but no one has ever done it by chopping up the song something NO ONE has ever done .
You do you! I prefer a reaction that adds something over the usual 'oh that is soooooooooooooo good'. Start was a bit jarring (some ways into the intro), but I got up to speed soon enough. Not a singer or musician at all, but LOVE the information you add. Big ++ from me!
Everyone should have a "Fairy Voice Mother" in their lives. But finding one that is pitch perfect, educational, honest, engaging & off the cuff funny is an absolute treasure.
You’re incredible. Every time one of these singers does something insane, you geek out, and then just do it yourself lol. Blows me away. Would love to hear you sing full out!
This is my favourite song of all time. Have to say your overview of it is the best and most interesting I’ve seen, thanks for doing this song! Also you sound awesome singing the parts you did!
Yes, that would also be a good idea for a reaction and analysis video. By the way, Nightwish also made a cover of phantom of the opera. Never forget the vocal talent of Marko as well. He and Floor together are also awesome.
@@firstclaw1 The best ever Nightwish Phantom of the Opera duo is Tarja and Marko, that is absolutely undeniable. What is very sad is that the new "generation" of fans have completely forgotten how good was Tarja and think Floor is the best... it's not, by a long shot.
Hello The Fairy Voice Mother ! Nightwish fans here, your reaction just appeared on our radar.. (Yes, we have a radar for Nightwish reactions, how cool is that?!..) Welcome to the world of symphonic metal! And thank you for checking this legendary band, performing here at Wacken Open Air festival 2013, together with Floor Jansen, the 3rd and present female singer of the band, in front of a 82k audience. Also a recent sad news - these days Marco Hietala, the bass player and male singer of the band, announced his retirement both from the band and the public life for the next year at least - we'll see what the future brings to us. About the instrumental and vocal added parts - it's good to know they recorded their orchestral and vocal back tracks with prestigious institutions as London Philharmonic Orchestra. London's The Metro Voices choir group and London's Young Musicians Children's Choir as their regular partners. As I saw you enjoyed this powerful performance of the band, together with the stellar vocals and charisma of our Dutch metal queen, Floor Jansen. You absolutely understood what Floor did on that stage, thank you for taking the time to explainit to us! Hope you'll continue on this path. Since this is your first Nightwish reaction, it is my duty to give you the short history of the band concentrated by Ann Waychoff, one of the biggest Nightwish fan who has since passed away (and I am doing this in her memory): " Nightwish was started in 1996.They are considered a Symphonic Metal band, with a female main singer. They are from Finland. Tuomas Holopainen, the keyboard player, composes and writes the lyrics for 95% of their music. Marco Hietala is the Bassist and vocals .And there is the guitarist Emppu Vuorinen . Then there is Troy Donockley from UK who is a multi-instrumentalist and vocals. Jukka Nevalainen is the drummer. In 2015 due to Jukka's health issues Kai Hahto became the drummer and as of now is a permanent addition. Nightwish has had three singers. 1st one was Tarja Turunen (Operatic vocals). She was with them until 2005. The 2nd one was Anette Olzon from Sweden (Poppy, strong vocals). She was with them until 2012.The 3rd and current singer is Floor Jansen, from Netherlands (power, operatic, soprano.....most versatile) - you just heard her. There are live concerts that you should use depending on what era. From Wishes to Eternity and End of an Era (Tarja), Montreux Festival live 2012 and Exit Festival (Anette), Live at Wacken 2013, Live at Wembley, Live at Tampere, Vehicle of Spirit, Decades live (Floor). I hope this helps. I want to welcome you to the Nightwish community. I hope you like them enough to continue the journey. Believe me Nightwish will surprise you with their songs. You will never know what to expect. They are unbelievable live. I want to warn you that Nightwish fans are hard core. So be prepared. lol " Hoping you'll continue this journey with us, I'll drop here a list of songs with the current lineup of the band you may like (please consider this list of links only as "a tip of the iceberg", an indication that they have a vast and very diverse repertoire, and not as something mandatory): "Romanticide" live at Wacken 2013 (metal) ua-cam.com/video/zz_7OCCQlXs/v-deo.html "Storytime" live at Wacken 2013 (uplifting vocals) ua-cam.com/video/pvkYwOJZONU/v-deo.html "Ever Dream" live at Wacken 2013 (uplifting vocals) ua-cam.com/video/1Xi4n8dJcF8/v-deo.html "Song Of Myself" live at Wacken 2013 (dark/metal) ua-cam.com/video/lQu5QjidHWg/v-deo.html "Dead Boy's Poem" - live Buenos Aires 2018 (soulful ballad) ua-cam.com/video/S8E3L7ggLMM/v-deo.html "Ghost River" live at Wacken 2013 (metal) ua-cam.com/video/05eitd-EA6I/v-deo.html "Dark Chest Of Wonders" live at Wacken 2013 (metal, the greatest show opener ever) ua-cam.com/video/OvOD6xecph4/v-deo.html "My Walden" live at Wembley 2015 (celtic / folk) ua-cam.com/video/knqeI807ZlY/v-deo.html "Sleeping Sun" live at Vizovice Masters of Rock festival 2016 (ballad) ua-cam.com/video/pVPTUEW1PEM/v-deo.html "The Islander" live at Tampere 2015 (Marco in charge..) ua-cam.com/video/Zo8ncK_5kzc/v-deo.html "Stargazer" live at Tampere 2015 (operatic vocals / metal) ua-cam.com/video/NhEuAPYm_Ug/v-deo.html "Alpenglow" live at Wembley 2015 (uplifting / metal) ua-cam.com/video/FrJvKZNEh7g/v-deo.html "Sahara" live at Tampa 2016 (middle eastern vibe) ua-cam.com/video/lTvYfLa4Wlk/v-deo.html "Slaying The Dreamer" live at Buenos Aires 2018 (metal) ua-cam.com/video/wA44tjaP5n0/v-deo.html "I Want My Tears Back" live at Buenos Aires 2018 (celtic / folk vibe) ua-cam.com/video/TBOdgxjb0kM/v-deo.html "Devil & The Deep Dark Ocean" live In Buenos Aires 2018 (metal) ua-cam.com/video/t26r_vAYQ0Q/v-deo.html "Weak Fantasy" live at Tampere 2015 (dark metal) ua-cam.com/video/AN239Pbqbjo/v-deo.html "7 Days To The Wolves" live at Wembley 2015 (dark metal) ua-cam.com/video/XvsfwAPbWXc/v-deo.html And if you want to hear Floor growling :) then try "Yours Is An Empty Hope" live at Mexico City in 2015 ua-cam.com/video/DuwY1d-KIss/v-deo.html Last but not the least - they just released their 9th studio album on April 10th 2020 named "Human :||: Nature" - just take a peek to their official playlist: ua-cam.com/play/PLihZ3gi5Yvzc0pfH2cbNKUUX8o3pb8eVg.html (for example: "Shoemaker", the 3rd track from this album, tells the story of Eugene Shoemaker, one of the founders of planetary science, whose ash was sent on the Moon after his death, as a tribute from the scientific community ..) The links presented above are with the current singer of the band, Floor Jansen, since I'm a fan of the recent era of the band, with Floor as the singer. I have nothing against previous singers, but I do not consider myself the most suitable person to give specific recommendations from their repertoires. ** I think it's your place, fans of previous Nightwish eras, to present to the reactors the best recommendations with Tarja Turunen and Anette Olzon, because you know and appreciate them directly. I encourage you to add the best recommendations in the comments. ** That being said, I will add here the message left the other days by an old fan of the band, @Fabrizio Gorla: " To be fair to the old fanbase, you may want to include also some of these songs. @@jasonbodden8816 I think "Misery's not crime" has even more extreme vocal techniques but sadly there are not high quality live recordings. Here's one cellphone recording: ua-cam.com/video/SNPesLFTnUg/v-deo.html
We don´t mind watching a 30 mins video with full song reaction, not just singing parts. Nightwish compositions are masterpieces that deserve proper recognition.
@@MoMoMyPup10 Well to not show the whole song is just ridiculous. I can't tell you how many vocal coaches I've seen reacting to songs from all kinds of bands and not one has just shown the vocal parts. Nightwish has nothing to do with it!
@@sloppys5962 I like Nightwish too, but to deny their songs can meander a bit is silly to me. She's focused on the vocals, not every ounce of the song. So it makes perfect sense that she wants to keep it short and sweet, there's only so much someone can do when they're sitting around and listening to something they aren't qualified to comment on.
Don’t be afraid to let the entire song play while you’re reacting to it. I promise you that the Nightwish fans will stay to the end no matter how long the video. Pls for our 👑
Wow, I've watched like a gazillion reactions to this nightwish video, but yours was SO on point. You've got incredible voice and musical talent. A true fairy.
It's interesting how so many vocal coaches can analyze the same song and each one has a different focus on vocal techniques. It's makes me think that singing is amazingly complex.
I've seen tens, if not hundreds of these Ghost Love Score reactions. You are one of few that actually got me to subscribe. The way you analyze, the easy to understand, even for someone with zero education in the field, explanations, your clear passion for the subject. Keep doing what you're doing.
I have watched a fair few reaction videos recently (mostly because of Dimash and Nightwish, and I find yours by far the best. You know absolutely loads, your charisma and personality are perfect for it, and you make them properly interesting to watch. :D
I've rarely had so much fun watching a reaction video. You are entirely a music geek, and I love it. Music is obviously your passion, and it's easy to see. I've been playin' for over 30 years, and it's so nice to view someone so viscerally attached to sound, melody, and harmony, and what it does to people who choose to listen.
Wow I've been binge-watching your channel since last night and I'm OBSESSED! I never liked 'reaction' channels before but your reactions & analyses are so educational, fun, and intimate. I love how you analyze singers both technically and emotionally, you really understand their souls and the message they convey through their singing. Your comments make a lot of sense and your enthusiasm is such a joy to watch :) ALSO, your ability to demonstrate literally every technique and your command over your voice is so inspiring!
I haven't subscribed to anyone new/different in some time. I watched your reaction to Dimash, then a few of your other videos, but your reaction to Diana Ankudinova is what caused me to make the leap and subscribe. I really enjoy your reactions and analysis as they are very intuitive, informative, and geekily funny. ~Be Blessed
Wow! This is the first time I've watched your channel. You're a gorgeous freak and this was a great reaction. I've seen the song in its entirety so many times, so it was great to see your vocal analysis. I could watch you all day long, so keep doing your thing, it's great to watch
Thanks again for a very informative reaction. I've never heard anyone going into as much detail about how Floor is creating her sounds or how she is setting up her vocal apparatus for the next onslaught. I can't wait to see how you review some of Marco's singing (the bassist). He also has an incredibly versatile, distinctive and powerful voice, which he uses with great skill and panache. I see Gabriel, the official herald for the Nightwish fanbase/army has already visited your comment section, so you are officially on the Nightwish army radar now. I am a recently-acquired Nightwish devotee, but I've noticed that, although the Nightwish fanbase are typically very polite, very understanding and very diplomatic, they are also one of the most passionate (some have been following this band for over twenty years), most partisan, most active and most numerous fanbases on the internet. If you are in favour, they can provide a huge amount of support for your channel, and if some are upset, they won't support you and can be quite critical. I'm not meaning to be threatening, as some commenters already appear to have been, just informative, because I really enjoy your videos and presentation style, and I would like to see you prosper (and analyse more music that I like, grovel, grovel, grovel) I can see that some commenters have already tried to provide 'constructive feedback' about Nightwish fanbase - reactor etiquette, some more politely than others. I just wanted to highlight how much many of the fanbase absolutely adore these songs (the Wacken, 2013, show is considered by many to be somewhat of a religious experience), and view any adulteration of their viewing experience as sacreligious. While most of the time the fanbase is extremely polite and understanding (I am always surprised at how polite and apologetic they can be) there are a few things, which trigger very high emotions, and one of them seems to be cutting up Tuomas' music (Tuomas is the keyboardist, founder, leader, main composer and songwriter and is held in great reverence by the fanbase). I'm sorry. I can't ever write a short post. It's obviously your channel, and you can do what you want with it, present things how you like and, from what I've seen so far, you are incredibly knowledgeable, incredibly perceptive and you explain complex phenomena in a very clear and elegant way. Your personality and style are also beautifully vibrant and entertaining. I've thoroughly enjoyed all of your videos, but this one was brutally jarring for someone who has watched this song so many times and has it deeply embedded in their psyche. 'Ghost Love Score' is the oldest of "the Big Three" Nightwish standards, that are considered to be masterpieces by the fan base, and for a long time, was the grand finale of any Nightwish concert. As you probably already know, their music is typically a complex systematic build of thematic elements that are designed to evoke strong emotional experiences, which ebb and flow over carefully constructed timescales. Messing with the 'special sauce' is going to alienate a lot of viewers, who might otherwise have been strong supporters of your channel, and ignoring the established cultures within certain fanbases will draw hostility from the more parochial members of the groups. Due to the size and activity of the Nightwish fanbase, most reactors bow to subtle pressure and adopt their existing conventions, so they are generally used to getting what they want. It's not just the Nightwish fanbase who can become quite militant about reactor etiquette. Generally, from what I've seen, cutting the song is universally widely-criticised, and reactors who do so, seem to disappear. Rewinding slightly after a pause is also widely encouraged and applauded. Pausing during solos also draws flak. Even though you wish to focus on the vocals in any of these videos, many fans are fans because they are interested in the holistic experience, not just the vocals in isolation. Reaction videos are generally popular because watching the reactor's response triggers 'mirror' neurons in the viewer's brain, that in turn trigger the original emotional response they felt when they first encountered the same event, e.g., everyone wants to watch an unsuspecting reactor when Tatiana switches from her clean vocals to her growls in Jinjer's 'Pisces' (even better when the reactor is having a sip of tea at exactly that moment). If they don't get the response they were expecting, they don't trigger the mirror neurons, they don't get to relive the emotions of their first time experiencing that, and they don't get the dopamine release that makes them happy. "Bad reactor." The Nightwish fans (including me) generally expect the reactor to swoon over 'Ghost Love Score', talk about 'Pirates of the Carribean' during the epic intro, be mildly confused by the orchestral and choral interlude, have the obligatory 'Floorgasm' after her final belt, and finish in awe, with that epic build at the end of Floor's vocals, with Jukka's drums and Emppu's guitar. Mirror neurons triggered, familiar emotional response, dopamine and seratonin release, happiness and contentment. That's exactly what they usually get. You took all of those emotional events away from them. Not happy. What you said was amazing, but you cut out all of the sights on the bus tour. Sorry for the long comment. I just wanted to provide information so you could make informed decisions that might make your channel more successful, and I could get to see more of your videos ("being a freak once per week") for a long time to come. I follow a handful of reactors who all contribute different things to their analyses that I enjoy learning about, so I'm always trying to push the same music that I like onto all of them. Even though you are focussed on vocals for this channel, maybe it will be useful to know that most people are emotionally connected to the performance as a whole, not just the vocals. There's only so many times you can talk about the same vocal techniques. Of course, as I said, it's your channel and you may specifically want to focus on vocal technicalities, specifically for vocalists, but that's probably going to limit your exposure and following, and long-term viewers will get bored.
Been following Floor Jansen since 2002 when I discovered After Forever. She's been one of my favourite singers since then and she got elevated to my all time number one singer when she joined Nightwish, my number one band, and absolutely nailed all the songs. She's been a legend of power metal and symphonic metal for decades before the rest of the world knew her. She started out as a lead singer in progressive/power/symphonic metal band After Forever at only 16. And already then she had skills far beyond her age.
BY FAR my favourite vocal analyst. I absolutely LOVE your energy and your, well, analysis.. of course! On a total binge of your videos right now and I'm LOVING it! SO happy I found your channel :)
Beyond a shadow of a doubt the best technical vocal reaction channel i've ever come across, this. And i've seen them all. You are fucking incredible, do not stop. Quit your day job.
I only discovered Floor last year. Typing this as you start watching . This should be fun. The Nightwish army will be incoming! Lots of love on the way. Now waiting for you to hear the last notes.
Guess I watched over 15 reaction videos to this song now. There are some really great, professional, expressive, interesting reactions to this, but yours is also so much FUN to watch. Made me smile all the time. Lovely.
The chick is THE BEST!!!!🔥😎🔥 Funny, informative and super knowledgeable. I can’t wait for more episodes and insights from ‘Her Fairy Highness’. I’m so excited she does vocal coaching too. I hear she’s amazing so going to check out some lessons. Keep it up FVM you are the best thing out there by a country mile! 🎶❤️🎶❤️🎶❤️🎶❤️
Well now you gotta react to their first singer Tarja singing Phantom of the Opera with a bonus treat from another incredible vocalist from the band called Marco as he sings the Phantom's parts. Trust me you will fall in love with both of them instantly. To find the video simply search Nightwish Phantom of the Opera and the live performance will show up!
You remind me of Moaning Myrtle's much cooler and prettier sister, (you know the one that won all the singing competitions and didn't die in the girls bathroom), and Im all here for it. Love it!
You're one of the best I've seen so far to explain singing techniques. Very simple to understand, yet you clearly know what you are talking about. Subscribing right now.
I've watched a lot of Ghost Love Score reactions. I'm a little over it, but I clicked on yours strictly because you're "The Fairy Voice Mother" Great name for a channel! Good luck!
Hi there Mother, I am so happy that you are reviewing this song and band. This is one of my favorite videos. Floor is a Rock-Goddess. My favorite comment I have read is most singers sing what they can. Floor sings anything she wants to. My favorite part of this piece is the ending. Floor shows just how good she is. Amazing range and power. She is well trained. With tons of God given talent. Also she easy to look at. I want to thank you for this video. You do know what you are talking about. Floors mannerisms add to the performance. The hair flip and the hand movement. And the hey, hey. She gets the crowd involved. She is a showwoman master. Starting around 9:30 she builds it up to a peak. Bravo. Also the band is working their tails off. Awesome. Her breathing is perfect. No shoulder rise. Great stuff..... She is a super singer!
I feel like "If youre felling a bit dirty but your hands are clean" is more than just throw away line. You look like a very sweet and proper girl but with a dark undertone. Its quite alluring.
We do love you Mother. This lady has amazing skills. I especially enjoy her work as the song approaches its ending. Plus the hair flips. And she uses her hands very well. They really pour it on near the finish. She is a vocal warrior! So good..... Thank you for this review.
It's Oct '22 and I've come back to watch this yet one more time. I've watched everything you've posted since this vid and I have enjoyed every minute. Thank you so much!
I think you might be interested in checking out Floor Jansen singing with Simone Simon who is the lead singer for the band Epica, performing the song Sancta Terra. This piece is backed by a chorale group, backed by a symphony. Simone has some training as well. I think you'd be impressed as to how well they perform together.
Fun reaction, definitely love the enthusiasm and overall geeking out, as well as the very hands-on and practical technical comments. However I do wish you might in future just let the full song play out and react to the whole, even though your main focus is of course on the vocals. Trust me, the videos won't be too long for any of us who love music and want to see new people explore our favourite artists' work.
BUT she will have YT to deal with when she plays a video in full and uploads it that way. It's really a Catch-Twenty-Two between what the fans want and what the lawyers at the top of YT want. :P
@@jamescurfman3284 All reactors deal with that. If a reactor is actually making meaningful comments and not just playing the video without stopping it's pretty easy to dispute copyright because fair use does allow for use of music for criticism or commentary. With certain music, the record labels don't care if it's fair use and won't let it go regardless. However, Nuclear Blast is pretty good about always letting Nightwish reactions be viewed without penalty to the content creator even though it will still get a "claim". A "copyright claim" doesn't hurt the creator's channel, only a "copyright strike" will.
This video really stands out because you illustrate your points so well by actually singing the most interesting bits of the song so well. The proof, as they say, is in the pudding. Brava.
Just found the channel on the Dimash SOS link and haven't listened to this one yet, but you'll thank yourself if you also discover Sohyang early on in these. Of all the vocal gods out there, she's just the top. Try "Arirang Alone" from Immortal Songs 2.
@@TheFairyVoiceMother There's actually a video called "When Vocal Coaches Got Emotionally slayed By Sohyang". Can actually watch the first 1 minute and 40 seconds without getting any spoilers and just see some reactions from them for an idea. She has a huge catalog of impressive songs now. Lara Fabian (a lot from the "From Lara with Love" concert) is another, that out of the big list of impressive folks you will get suggested, to just not miss. Dimash idolizes her.
Love your excitement and vocal knowledge. Subscribed right away. The Nightwish Army has arrived. We don’t mind a longer video. To know Nightwish you must experience their compositions as a whole and get to know their amazing talent and cohesiveness.
For so to speak: Her joining Nightwish 10 months before this performance was a win-win. First she got her confidence back, and the challenges fitting her talent.. While they got a vocalist who was fitting all styles. Sad Marco left the band 6 weeks ago.
I really appreciate your focus on vocal technique. I've learned so much just from watching 2 videos so far and it's inspired me to resume practicing and experimenting with my voice to learn the ins and outs the way you present them. Others may want to see your reaction to the whole song, but personally I don't mind your strict focus on the vocals. There are plenty of other UA-camrs who show their reaction to the whole song out there, but your focus enables you to deliver a lot more information and we learn a lot more that we wouldn't otherwise
Wow, that was one of the best reactions I've ever seen to that song. Don't sell yourself short - you have a heck of a voice on you too! If you're looking for another ridiculously talented singer to geek out over, might I suggest Tatiana from the Ukranian metal band Jinjer. Most reactors start out with the song Pisces, but with you being as knowledgeable as you are about singing techniques I suspect you'd really enjoy her one take performance of Judgement & Punishment.
They also have a hell of a bass player. After doing Judgement & Punishment I'll tell you one or two example where he really shines. BTW: The mentioned video is here: ua-cam.com/video/Q5rg_63Shqg/v-deo.html
Also check out their live performances. There's proof of this band's collective and individual talent. Especially Tatiana's. Listen to her live, and if you ever doubted her ability, then you will doubt her no longer.
First time watching your content and I really enjoyed it. Saw your comment why you cut the video up a bit, and I do get your point. Hope to see more Nightwish on your channel, subbed. Can see that Gabriel sent his welcome message, so you already have the suggestions you need to continue your Nightwish journey. All the best 👌👍
I honestly loved this reaction and analysis 😍 I've seen, and heard, this video about a thousand times by now and am not bothered by a fabulous Fairy who knows what she's talking about, skipping the more instrumental parts of the song, to focus on the singing technique.
Just one thing. We want to enjoy the whole song with you. Especially Nightwish. Is there any other anti-copyright tool you could use other than cutting up the song into choice bits with sauce on the side? Perhaps reversing the video image, ie left is right and so on. Because this is a powerful song, especially at the end. You'd do well to just pause and describe and resume for Poet and the Pendulum, for instance. Just friendly advice.
Amazing reaction/analysis,you really makes me understand more of those techniques that she used on this song ^--^ Please, react to the Poet and the Pendulum (Live at Wembley 2014 or 2015) it's incredible, it's powerful, beautiful, emotional and is able to make the roughest man fall to his knees and cry...
I always enjoy your reactions so much! Such fun and very informative as well. And, as a big Nightwish fan....double thanks for letting me enjoy their work again as if for the first time. Best wishes!
This song only shows a part of her ability. You can try I want my tears back and yours is a empty hope for her lower register/growls. Marco their bass player is also a very good singer.
New to the channel. Loving your energy, and energetic emotions. No need for an avatar to pretend to be powerful. You are a force of nature in your own right. ❤️ You do you. 🙂
Just because she cut the video up it doesn't mean she didn't "Appreciate the entire piece" She would have listened to the whole song, don't worry. I get that it's fun to see others react to your favourite parts of a song but this is a channel focused on the vocals, and this lady has given more insight into techniques and vocal delivery than any other channel I've seen. If you're disappointed by a vocal based channel only showing the vocal related parts of a song then I think (and this applies to all the overly obsessed nightwish fans out there), that maybe you need to find a few hobbies to enrich your lives :)
@@Zappaisgod4983 why mate, why get personal and imply i have no life - I have a full, rich, exhausting, stressful life - I just have an opinion that you don't share, about a very minor thing - calm down.
@@jimharris367 I can't argue with your reply. Note to self: Stop using social media after a few beers. I think I just enjoyed this breakdown so much that I was a bit disheartened to come to the comments and see multiple people complaining about the lack of a full reaction (like they haven't already watched dozens of them) It seemed to undermine the talent and detail that went into the video/reaction. I apologise for the personal comments I made and rather than delete or edit my comment, I'll leave it unaltered as an example of how not to act on the internet.
@@Zappaisgod4983 it's all cool bro, no worries, you're clearly a good guy and that's not so common these days - and it hadn't occurred to me that she probably did watch the whole thing, so fare point there bro 🤘
Hi, I loved your analysis! You clearly know what you are talking about and that is awesome for the uneducated (me) people interested in vocal techniques. I would like to see your reaction to the song though, this means watching the entire piece, not skipping ahead. You pause often enough to avoid copywriter strikes, and I can promise you that the Nightwish army will be pleased to sit through any length of genuine reaction. Please don't take this as a negative review, it is because you have such an engaging and fun manner that I wish to see more of a reaction. Thank you for sharing. I hope to see your analysis and reactions to more Nightwish music, they really are worth the journey.
I'd like to add Ayreon - Valley of the Queens to the pile of suggestions. Lovely singing from Floor, Anneke and Marcella. Also Epica - Sancta Terra (retrospective featuring Floor)
your brilliant . just brilliant. i see major love from you tube in your future . your have the most knowledge of anyone ive ever seen yet. rock on. thanks from canada
I mean... you've done Dimash... you've done Floor (do more Floor, btw ;-) ) so I guess to round out the "Reacter's Greatest Hits" you should do Tatiana. Jinjer - Pisces
I hope you see this message, i recently found your channel and its amazing, you are so funny and teach a lot, the only thing i can ask if you want is that let the option of subtitles on, please, for the people that not speak english, to fully understand everything you say, im from Argentina by the way... thanks a lot for everthing you do!
I appreciate that you are focusing on and commenting on technique. That amazing technique helps convey emotion, of course. Tuomas, in another lifetime, would be something like the Hans Zimmer of that time. Film scores and such are major influences on his musical/compositional style (many of their more beloved songs fit that pattern more then the traditional rock/metal song pattern). I think what many are trying to say is that, as a result, Tuomas takes us on a musical/emotional/lyrical journey in these songs. We are big fans of those journeys and love bringing new people along with us on them. Don't stop providing the very enlightening technical details. It's more like, you are wonderful, your analysis is wonderful, but we want to see you enjoy the full journey with us. Hey, there are almost hour long reaction videos out there to something like "The Greatest Show on Earth" (in its defense, the song itself is > 20 minutes long) and we happily stay along for the entire journey. We're not asking for less reaction, but instead, more reaction. Maybe imagine like you shared your favorite novel with your best friend who's an English teacher and she only comments on sentence structure and such. Yes, you want to know that technical information because it helps you appreciate the novel even more. How long is it going to be until you ask them things like what did you think about character so and so and her sense of style, or how want to discuss what you think of the romance between the main characters? Feel free to give us something like the band created this really dark atmosphere which complimented the sharp aggressive vocals that she accomplished by using/doing whatever technique that you are about to tell us about... Either way, loved the info :)
I see a lot of fans disliked you skipping parts of the video in editing. I just wanted to say that I was quite happy to see someone do that for a change. I've heard the song so many times that I know what happens in the song and watch the reaction videos for... well... the reactions. :D It was nice for once to see someone skipping to the parts with interesting reactions.
Great reaction. I really like how you match what the vocalist is doing. Very cool. I would like to point out though that we wouldn't mind having the full thing with several minutes of analysis. Nightwish songs are just an experience, there's no need to rush. Floor is in a class by herself. She's just absolutely phenomenal. Also the whole band is great but Marko is my favorite. I'm a, well, really terrible bass player, but he is awesome, and he's a great singer as well. Have fun getting into Nightwish.
You're cute fairy voice mother :) But more to the point, you've got the knowledge and you can sing. Nice reaction even though you cut up the song which is sort of sacrilege. From you I can take it.
Found your channel through the Sleep Token The Summoning reaction. Having a look at your back catalog. And I'm happy to see that you have kept the consistent happy music nerd type personality the entire time. You deserve a lot more attention and recognition than you currently have. Honestly would not mind more Tool, System Of A Down, Sleep Token and other rock/metal vocal analysis. Perhaps some new artists to the channel or yourself like Symphony X, Iron Maiden, Dream Theatre and or Kamelot. I have a request but it won't get many votes from other people. The song is called The Day That The World Breaks Down by Ayreon. Other vocal analysis channels have reacted to it but I think the way you break down vocal techniques and also perform them yourself to set the example is such a great thing that I have seen other reactors do, so it would be fresh and maybe get you to check out an artist you otherwise would not have. I'll end my essay before it gets too long. You're amazing. Keep being amazing. You deserve more love. Kudos. 😁
Thanks for the reaction :) I love how knowledgeable you are! But one small thing... can I please recommend that you don't skip half the song next time... as a viewer, it's really kind of jarring, and makes for slightly uncomfortable viewing. Most people don't really like it, hence why you seem to have quite a few dislikes. I liked your video and clicked the button, but just for next time, if you could watch right through, that'd be cool :)
Just found your channel, and I really enjoy the more technical aspects of your reviews :) I'm primarily a guitar player, and while I'd like to sing, I'm not too great at it. Still, I like seeing how people that actually know how to sing react and explain the process and the mechanics behind what happens. I think you do that really well, so I definitely subscribed. Cheers from Mexico via Texas.
You know, that we all love people who are both passionate and knowledgeable about a subject, and music is one of those topics that are the most accessible on the whole world. When someone give as insight, lets us behind the curtain of what we though we know well it's like experiencing it all again for the first time. So like Elizabeth Zharoff said - let your inner voice nerd out!
love this channel, such a joy to watch and very educational too! Video is also seamlessly edited. My humble suggestion for some analysis would be Depeche Mode's In Your Room or Never Let Me Down Again. All DM fans out there will definitely enjoy!
I have listened to numerous voice coaches and reactors on UA-cam and you are the most thorough, you sing beautifully and you are very funny. I do hope you keep making videos (you are excellent at editing as well) and please stop by if you happen to visit Pigeon Forge, Tennessee, home of Dolly Parton.
hello darling ones.
You're a sweetheart. And what you did makes sense, at least for me. Thanks and pretty please don't be a stranger :)
what happened to the intro ? fyi NW vids rarely ever get blocked for copyright
reactor tips : after a pause especially mid vocals please go back a bit before resuming for song continuity, your viewers will appreciate it :), I appreciate your expert analysis but unfortunately it seems like you did not have much respect for the music , the music giving context to the vocals is important, this song being the most reacted to song on YT with many reactors getting over 2.5 Million views and Nightwish having the largest and most passionate fan base on YT, Floor Jansen is a voice master and has been a vocal coach in between bands prior to NW, many & I mean very many highly respected and seasoned voice pros have reacted to this song and Floor's flawless technique but no one has ever done it by chopping up the song something NO ONE has ever done .
You do you! I prefer a reaction that adds something over the usual 'oh that is soooooooooooooo good'. Start was a bit jarring (some ways into the intro), but I got up to speed soon enough. Not a singer or musician at all, but LOVE the information you add. Big ++ from me!

Floor and henk doing phantom of the opera is well worth it 👌

@@firstclaw1 The best ever Nightwish Phantom of the Opera duo is Tarja and Marko, that is absolutely undeniable. What is very sad is that the new "generation" of fans have completely forgotten how good was Tarja and think Floor is the best... it's not, by a long shot.
Hello The Fairy Voice Mother ! Nightwish fans here, your reaction just appeared on our radar.. (Yes, we have a radar for Nightwish reactions, how cool is that?!..)
Welcome to the world of symphonic metal!
Since this is your first Nightwish reaction, it is my duty to give you the short history of the band concentrated by Ann Waychoff, one of the biggest Nightwish fan who has since passed away (and I am doing this in her memory):
" Nightwish was started in 1996.They are considered a Symphonic Metal band, with a female main singer.
So be prepared. lol "

Keep doing what you're doing.

I'm not meaning to be threatening, as some commenters already appear to have been, just informative, because I really enjoy your videos and presentation style, and I would like to see you prosper (and analyse more music that I like, grovel, grovel, grovel)
I can see that some commenters have already tried to provide 'constructive feedback' about Nightwish fanbase - reactor etiquette, some more politely than others.
"Bad reactor."
The Nightwish fans (including me) generally expect the reactor to swoon over 'Ghost Love Score', talk about 'Pirates of the Carribean' during the epic intro, be mildly confused by the orchestral and choral interlude, have the obligatory 'Floorgasm' after her final belt, and finish in awe, with that epic build at the end of Floor's vocals, with Jukka's drums and Emppu's guitar.
Lovely.
What happened to you right around 11:10 is commonly referred to as a "Floorgasm", that's what made your nose run.
I have to admit, I think you are the most spot on vocal analyst I've watched on UA-cam...and I've watched a LOT!!
Floor Jansen , The best female singer of this time .
Fact
Indeed!
Anneke would like a word with you.
@@Cartis88 Who is Anneke?
Nope
Really nice analysis, one of the better ones I have seen up to now. ❤
You really really know your shit. Ive learned more here than through the years
We are here...we are everywhere...Nightwish Army
She's got many more lanes... If you continue your NW journey, you will see her follow all of them.
She owns the highway and the journey.
I've watched a lot of Ghost Love Score reactions. I'm a little over it, but I clicked on yours strictly because you're "The Fairy Voice Mother" Great name for a channel! Good luck!
to be honest, if floor jansen is asked what her voice range is, she can just say : yes...
Hello, hello. Nightwish Iowa here. Welcome aboard! Loved your reaction, and I must admit, you are quite a wonderful singer too!
There's something "Harley Quinn" over you. ;) Great reaction, liked and subbed. Looking forward to more. Cheers from Sweden!
Hi there Mother,
I am so happy that you are reviewing this song and band.
A fantastic reaction/explanation. Top notch. Your own voice is stellar.
It's Oct '22 and I've come back to watch this yet one more time. I've watched everything you've posted since this vid and I have enjoyed every minute. Thank you so much!
Ah Darell that means the world thank you so much 💜
I think you might be interested in checking out Floor Jansen singing with Simone Simon who is the lead singer for the band Epica, performing the song Sancta Terra. This piece is backed by a chorale group, backed by a symphony. Simone has some training as well. I think you'd be impressed as to how well they perform together.
As a vocal coach, she'd likely enjoy Stabat Mater from the same concert. Still Simone & Floor, but man do they bring it to an actual classical piece.
I don't know if anyone noticed but..the way you edit your videos is mind blowing...down to the millimeter on track...Very well done..🙂👍
Try "Arirang Alone" from Immortal Songs 2.
you betcha, she's officially at the top of my list xo
@@TheFairyVoiceMother There's actually a video called "When Vocal Coaches Got Emotionally slayed By Sohyang". Can actually watch the first 1 minute and 40 seconds without getting any spoilers and just see some reactions from them for an idea. She has a huge catalog of impressive songs now. Lara Fabian (a lot from the "From Lara with Love" concert) is another, that out of the big list of impressive folks you will get suggested, to just not miss. Dimash idolizes her.
Seconding Sohyang after more Floor!
Love your excitement and vocal knowledge. Subscribed right away. The Nightwish Army has arrived. We don’t mind a longer video. To know Nightwish you must experience their compositions as a whole and get to know their amazing talent and cohesiveness.
Came for the goddess, stayed for the fairy ❤
Hello Fairy Voice Mother. Lovely breakdown and analysis of this masterful performance. Loved it.
For so to speak:
Her joining Nightwish 10 months before this performance was a win-win.
First she got her confidence back, and the challenges fitting her talent..
While they got a vocalist who was fitting all styles.
Sad Marco left the band 6 weeks ago.
Best singers Coach review I've seen so far on this video! You zoomed in on the true features of this performance You're doing a fine job!
I just came across your video. Love listening to your voice. Great reaction to Floor's performance. I'm a new fan.
I second this!
Check out her performances on Beste Zingers...everything from Opera, musical theatre, pop, and spanish.
She’s a vocal coach analyzing vocals. If you want the whole piece go listen to the album.
Im ok with that edition knowing that at least she fully heard it on her end.
@@wishmaster0390 if that is true then I'll be ok with it too.
Mother,
We are the lucky ones. Floor is unreal in how skilled she is. I am so glad you like her so much....
You should react all of these singers... Simone Simons, Charlotte Wessels, Sharon del Aden, Tommy Karevik
little correction: Sharon den Adel 😉 and let's not forget the woman who was Floor's inspiration ...... Anneke van Giersbergen.
@@MisterJ56 Yes, Anneke! Her new album is out ❤️
This was her first time out with the band. Amazing
Amazing reaction/analysis,you really makes me understand more of those techniques that she used on this song ^--^
Please, react to the Poet and the Pendulum (Live at Wembley 2014 or 2015) it's incredible, it's powerful, beautiful, emotional and is able to make the roughest man fall to his knees and cry...
love Nightwish, love Floor, love your Harley Quinn style😍
I never knew her “hey!”s for the audience would prepare her for her belting! Dang! That’s such cool knowledge
Oh, you cut the piece up rather than appreciating the entire piece - that's a shame but glad you enjoyed it anyway!
Damn your good! It´s obvious you really know your stuff. Great reaction. And of course, Floor is a goddess!
You're amazing !!! Xo
love you, you're amazing x
I see a lot of fans disliked you skipping parts of the video in editing. I just wanted to say that I was quite happy to see someone do that for a change. I've heard the song so many times that I know what happens in the song and watch the reaction videos for... well... the reactions. :D It was nice for once to see someone skipping to the parts with interesting reactions.
Her name is Floor so you know where to look for your jaw.

Am I missing any? 😅

You are the best. Will you be doing another Dimash reaction in the near future? Thanks
Starting around 9:08 Floor begins her end portion just blows me AWAY! Thank you for your insights. Take care.
Just found your channel, and I really enjoy the more technical aspects of your reviews :)
I'm primarily a guitar player, and while I'd like to sing, I'm not too great at it. Still, I like seeing how people that actually know how to sing react and explain the process and the mechanics behind what happens. I think you do that really well, so I definitely subscribed.
Cheers from Mexico via Texas.
Made my nose run and no one’s ever had that effect on me before
I absolutely love this song and really enjoyed your breakdown of it! Thanks for sharing. 😊
Just love your awkward sense of humor and geeky passion
I second this recommendation and compliment!
React to Floor's cover of Shallow from the show Bestes Zangers. It is incredible.
love this channel, such a joy to watch and very educational too! Video is also seamlessly edited. My humble suggestion for some analysis would be Depeche Mode's In Your Room or Never Let Me Down Again. All DM fans out there will definitely enjoy!
You can still concentrate on the vocals without losing the entire song
I have listened to numerous voice coaches and reactors on UA-cam and you are the most thorough, you sing beautifully and you are very funny. I do hope you keep making videos (you are excellent at editing as well) and please stop by if you happen to visit Pigeon Forge, Tennessee, home of Dolly Parton.
