Oops, I should have mentioned this in the video. For those who are wondering the same, The turn knob on the generator does two things, cuts off fuel flow to the carb and kills power to the ignition system, effectively shutting down the generator immediately. The install of the kill switch button bypasses the turn knob shut off switch and allows the ignition system to stay active to run alternative fuels. For emergency shut down of the generator, just press and hold the switch and the whole generator will immediately turn off. This switch avoids cutting the fuel lines and installing a valve.
So in order to run gas you would need to still turn the knob on to give gas fuel, but leave the knob off to run propane and use the button to shut the machine down ?
Installed this kit 1 month ago and have had no issues. Install was clearly demonstrated by this video and actually did it with my son to let him tinker. Great quality product worth the little bit extra investment. Thanks!
I ordered the kit in the last few days. Looking forward to it! I am also looking for one for my Wen 3800 and Wen 875i (I already have the US Carb kit for the Wen 875i but would welcome an milled part vs the motor snorkel).
Thank you for your business! I definitely have both of these generators in the back office being worked on. Hopefully if things go smoothly on the supply and manufacturing side we’ll have a kit by late spring, early summer. 👍
Hi Robert, I able to get almost full rated power from the unit with an exception of 100-200 less running watts. This also depends on NG pressure your meter is putting out. Ideally you want 8 W.C but most meters put out 4 W.C. And this is normal because that’s the lowest a gas company can output while still satisfying the bare minimum standard.
Mine goes back and forth just fine. There’s a little bit of rough running while it finishes off the petroleum when I’m first on LP. But otherwise there’s no tuning involved.
I keep two 5 gallon Jerry cans for all my lawn. Equipment etc. those will cover me for short emergencies. But for longer outages, a large LP tank gets you more run time. Or even tapping into your NG lines would work too.
It occurs to me, that there’s no mention or install of a fuel cutoff valve? How is that managed with this kit?

@@Rangejunkie Yes, that is exactly correct.

That's awesome, glad you and your son got to bond over it! Enjoy the Kit!
Excellent video! Will certainly influence my decision on who to get a kit from.
I believe I just emailed you back. Sorry for the late reply. Been super swamped here at the office.

Great video. Thanks, for making and sharing. On natural gas what’s your peak watts, and running watts?
Thanks - Rob

will the N gas/propane converter freeze up on natural gas in the winter -20c
I sold kits to folks up in Canada, I haven't had any of them call me back with issues.
What if I want to go back and forth between gasoline and LP - is that possible with this kit?
Pete

Hi Jan, yes this is a tri-fuel kit as mentioned in the video. Gasoline, Propane, Natural Gas.
Glad to hear she’s still running great.
in the UK, will this kit work on any/most Gens this size, I have a AIVOLT 1200W, good vid,
Unfortuanly we do not make kits for the AIVOLT generators at this time.
What is the need to convert this to natural gas ?
