First I am so sorry this has happened. Second, how did you pay? If you paid by credit card (which I always recommend), contact the card company and report these people for fraud. You signed up for a specific date and they cancelled. Unless there was a contract that you signed stating that the event could be postponed and the money would be held until the next event, they cannot keep your money, especially if the event is not a date suitable for you. These people sound like scammers!! You are spot on, if it does not feel right, follow your gut. Sweetie, I am old enough to be your grandma and I have been selling my hand made items for about 40 years…your gut won’t steer you wrong. While I live in Scotland now, I lived in NYC for a few years as well as in VT and NJ. When an organisation is hesitating to provide info until after you paid, even a new one just starting out, hang up, and do not do business with them. A reputable organisation will not hesitate to provide Sellers with the info and they won’t be texting you at midnight to your inquiry. These are huge red flags to be aware of for future. But they are selling spaces at huge discounts compared to others AND giving you three free selling days, that sounds extremely suspicious!! One or other maybe for a new organisation getting set up and trying to get Craft Sellers, maybe, but not both. Usually itis a lower price for the first one and maybe a % discount for the next one or two events to entice you to carry on with them and making sure the next event is going to be viable for them with enough Sellers. May Imask, please, when you ask questions, do you ask business questions regarding taxes, their full business name and get their business info? If you don’t yet, please do in future. They must be a registered business and they will have a legal business name and number that identifies them…always make sure to get that info. If they do not provide it, be very suspicious. If they hesitate but eventually give it to you, do your research and look into the business, you can see when the company was established, who the Directors are, the legal business address, etc. You can get a lot more useful info to help you judge if thety are a trustworthy rganasation to deal with or not. You can also use their company name and the names of the directors to see if there are any reviews from others warning about scams, being ripped off, etc as well as potential positive experiences. You can search quickly to see if the directors have operated other businesses and what they were called, if they are active and in good standing, if they went bankrupt, and so much more. We often don’t think to research these companies as it would s just crafting, but the craft world is big money these days and where there is money to be made, sadly there are people willing to exploit. Please, if you paid by card, do not wait to report it as a fraud claim with your card company and they will do an investigation. It usually takes a couple days as they have the give that organisation a chance to explain their side of things. If they do not agree to give you a full refund with the card company and the investor looking into it gets the feeling they are not legit or there was n contract about them not giving a refund but f the event was cancelled or postponed, then the credit card company will issue you with a refund and then chase these guys down for the money. IF you decide to wait and see and go to the event, if it ever happens, PLEASE make sure your parents are with you or that there are some folks who go with you who can help protect you. You are a beautiful young lady and the world is a dangerous place these days…especially when these folks sound dodgy ah and you felt something wasn’t right. I would also check with your bank to make sure there have been no more transactions taken from you by the company. And while it might sound silly, it is worth reaching out to the NYPD’s Fraud Unit to inquire about this group, they could be known scammers and if so that can help in getting your money returned also. It can also give the apolice a heads up if they are not aware and it turns out these guys are scammers. Being cautious is a benefit and it is better to be safe than sorry. Hearing your story had the hairs on my neck standing up. My apologies for being long winded but I needed to make sure to cover everything. They coukd very well be on the up and up and are new to things and just nt professional in any way, but with so many red flags, caution is important. In the grand scheme $150 is not a lot of money, especially in NYC. However that is not the point. That is your money, you worked for it and the money was meant for your space to sell at a certain place and n a certain date. And waiting to cancel with you until the day of the event, they are either beyond neot and have no business doing this or there is something fishy going on. Good luck with whatever you decide to do and please keep us posted. And lastly, I just wanted to say your items are adorable and they are going to sell like well!
@@StitchesByPati you are most welcome. It hurts my heart to see people get taken advantage of, especially young people. The crafting community is usually a friendly and helpful one. We have always looked out for each other even if we do not know each other. What affects one affects us all. So if I can ever be of help, I am happy to do so. Keep well and stay safe. ❤
Your designs are adorable! You are very talented, I love the mini chickens, octopi, and mushrooms!! I am so sorry that your market got cancelled, especially because you worked so hard to prep for everything. :( I hope everything works out alright, you got this girl! 😉
Thanks for sharing your experience. I’m going to be doing my first market next month and it pays to listen to your gut. Hope things go better for you. Cute items you made too!
I am so so sorry this happened to you. Yes ALWAYS trust your intuition it is always right. I subbed to you from both my accounts (I’m also potty mouthed planter lol) one account is laptop and one is phone lol Awww such beautiful work!! Omg love the ice cream ones and jelly fish omg
I’m sorry that happened to you 💔 I also had this happen to me and she kept postponing because she could not get enough vendors for the original event. Then she held the money hostage for almost a year. Once the event happened it was a total bomb and she was very rude to all the vendors. It was really a mess and it was one of my first ever events lol. I did meet some super nice people there though and have been able to make other connections because of it. Some of the people from this event still talk to me to this day and we often share events we find that look promising. I only ever take on events with people who have a proven record of successful events or who other vendor friends can vouch for.
I really really feel like you’re being scammed and they will keep rescheduling and not give you your money back. Unfortunately this seems to happen a good bit.. I hope that’s not the case. Either that or it’s a very unorganized event. Were they advertising to the public ? Is there anyone in any local groups who have done events under these coordinators before ? The venue they rented have you tried calling and asking if they could at least verify the event. Good luck girl!
Honestly, I would try to dispute the charge with the bank for the cost if you weren't able to attend at all in the end. -I know you said it was rescheduled, so if that was canceled too-
I'm so sorry Pati!!! I'm betting it was a scam and it breaks my heart that it happened to you. I seriously suggest disputing this. Keep your chin up. (AND YOUR HUNNYBUN IS SO CUTE!)
Sadly, I'm betting it was a scam. I'm sure if you called the owners of the building where it was to be held, no booking had been made. I hope you can get your money back. I love that you link the patterns that you used.
I lost $250 before. O even had a lawyer send a letter saying i should get my $ back and nothing. Do small low cost events through well kniwn organizations/ groups that other cradters trust and recommend. Your creations are so nice.
@@StitchesByPati they will literally just keep dragging this out. You didn't answer the other person above about if the event had been advertised or anything. Screams scam.
Very much sounds like a scam. Never book any event where they will not give a location without pay. This is a very common scam for crafters nowadays. Hoping you did not pay with cash app or Zelle.
You were scammed? Call you credit card company and tell them they're holding your money and they didn't do the show when they were supposed to. Is nothing sacred? They're scamming craft people now?
I love your inventory! Very cute ! I just subbed ! and sorry about the market !
Thank you 🥰 your sub makes up for it :)

The struggle is real! I had trouble even getting into a lot of craft fairs because they already had enough crochet applicants.
Ahhhh wishing you lots of luck!

Hi can I have the link for your mini bee pattern on IG please ❤
It's pinned in my highlights! For whatever reason, my ig links will not open when I post it in the comments :)
The link to your instagram is broken or set to private as I can’t get to it.
Fixed it! Thank you 🫶🏼
Honestly sounds like a scam to me, have you reached out to the venue where the event was going to be held?
That's what i was thinking!!
Who is your target audience when doing the markets?
Usually kids & parents, for this one it was adults & parents
Sounds like you got scammed to me 🤷♀️
Weird for sure, but update! They reached back out to me about vending again :) no costs!
