Honti started writing songs (as a result of the Vatican II innovations). So it's likely that the anonymous Jesuit priest who wrote the text that LSP has set lived many years earlier, probably even as far back as the Spanish era.

May suspetsa ako sa gamit ng salitang “langkay-langkay” to refer sa kumpol ng tao. Iba ang meaning ng langkay para sa isang taga-Panay na si Fr. Hontiveros (nalaman ko recently na mas musical composition ang ginawa niya kaysa magsulat ng lyrics). Maraming pwedeng candidates eh. I don't even know kung nasulat ever si Fr. de la Costa sa Tagalog.
