I can't imagine ThredUp would send fakes to customers. There's a market for these regardless of condition thankfully. The only box I've ever been truly happy with was the 26lb of denim.
Hi Denali, I found the purple wallet. It’s the Lilac accordion zip wallet with smooth leather, a few solds on posh. Lots of my coach pieces from Coach Factory are made in Vietnam. Also the vintage black leather bag, the Willis, check out Annette at excess_baggage. She has wonderful coach rehab tips. She has even sold a vintage coach with a gold coach chain strap for good money. Hope that helps!
Two of the bags appeared to be knock offs, the wallet and the sequin bag. Even lower end Coach Poppy bags are made with quality workmanship and never use plastic card slots sequins or poorly stitched. Unfortunately, a rescue box is exactly what it says. You could technically ask them to replace the knock offs since they are illegal to sale.
@@happylemonheads the wallet is authentic. It’s the lilac accordion zip wallet in smooth leather. They use at least 3 different leathers, pebbled, crossgrain and smooth. Many Coach products are made in Vietnam.
They all sucked, except for the Vintage Leather Coach, keep it, took me years to find a vintage Coach leather bag! Stuff it to reshape & condition the leather!
The vintage one is a coach Willis I believe. I have one that I found at a goodwill and then I have the same style in the briefcase. Two of my favorite bags ever. Personally I love vintage coach more than modern. The thick leather with the raw interior! 😍 To wash mine I soaked it in water and then stuffed it with towels or paper towels and then use doc marten wonder balsam from time to time.
I got a thread up mixed clothing it wasn’t bad I listed quite a few. Just got my coach rescue box it wasn’t so good both tan bags have a lot of wear and style isn’t cute but I do like 2 of them.
YES! I just took a chance on sending one of my coach bags through the wash to revive it. It's a "diaper bag" but I use it to travel since it has so many compartments and is a great size. It's canvas/leather. I sent it through in a garment bag with some clothes on cold. I used some Spray N Wash on some stains before I put it in. It came out BEAUTIFULLY!! I highly recommend giving it a shot!!
@elducho Yes! I have one with white leather trim that I'm still hesitant about. I don't think I can get much resale out of it if I can't get it cleaned up, so I may throw caution to the wind and just do it and see what happens. 🤷🏼♀️
The final vintage black leather messenger bag is a mid 90's bag with solid brass and would clean up nicely. I had one I used for a year then sold for $140.00 on eBay last summer, it did have the crossbody strap and hang tag. On the trash bags you can keep the hang tags to sale as a lot of hang tags. I sometimes buy just hang tags when I find a bag without one because they sale better with the hang tags. I often launder handbags in a mild soap warm wash cycle then air or sun dry then mink oil and it works all the time, however I never wash them with anything that has color to it, so no transfer happens. Coach is flooded market, but sometimes you find a winner.
Hello, I have had "some luck" with magic eraser on leather with color transfer. Also, I have seen a lot of people paint cool things on wallets. This might be a good candidate for that. Someone might buy it for that reason or if you knew someone who could do it for fun for you. Check out Etsy for inspiration.
You are a genius! I tried it on the Wallet, and it definitely worked. I didn’t fully get the color off, but I need to work on it a little bit more. But I never thought of using a magic eraser before, thank you!
I’d clean them up and send them right back to thredup and let them sell them. I’ve done this with a few coach boxes and have made decent money every time.
the leather is my favorite one to get in these boxes too, but my most recent Thred up video I did Sunday I got a nice like snakeskin newer coach bag and it sold super quick. Good luck selling all these!
Hi, I just found your channel, i love it! I purchased a coach rescue box a couple of months back. In my opinion I probably would not do again. I feel like as a resale value with a profit, just won't happen. I did a designer handbag that one was better. My personal feel is the regular handbag is the better buy.
I ordered a coach box last year. Never again lol. I still have 1 of the pieces listed. I love vintage coach though. You’re right about ordering for yourself and using the others to offset the cost.
That wasn’t really a good box 😢. I just bought one recently, I little received the same vintage it’s not in bad shape but someone had it customized with their initials. Then I received another bag totally in bad conditions. I am thinking of throwing in the wash to see if I can save it for a travel bag.
Love your unboxing videos! Coach bags are consistent sellers even in the most out of date style but only if authentic. I call shenanigans on thread up sending you the bag with the sequins. No way that’s a coach and no way thread up didn’t know. The leather bag is a good one! I think to reshape you could dampen and stuff with towels. I would keep it.
Honesty , its personal taste. I wouldn’t buy the box to resell, I would buy it for my own use. I purchased a box a few years ago and liked what I received. Still have them and switch them out all the time. I would buy again
Hi Denali :) You're such a risk taker! I hate spending money blindly. I've done it but have regretted it every time. I think you may get your money back selling that vintage black coach bag, I know they're in high demand right now but otherwise don't think there's money to be made on that box. But thank you as always for the content. Happy Holidays, enjoy!
I ordered a mixed clothing rescue box and actually did well reselling it. I just ordered a coach box hoping to get something worth selling ( still waiting for it) how can they get away with selling these junk boxes?! Ugh!
@@elducho Absolutely! You paid for an items as described. That’s worth contesting. You can always say you’re sure it was ‘just an honest mistake’ but nonetheless you purchased authentic Coach.
The wallet might be from the Coach Outlet, everything there is made from cheaper materials. I wouldn't buy this box either, very expensive for what you get.
In my experience, if your intention is to resell, never buy a rescue box. The items in a Thredup rescue box always require way too much work to restore to “sellable” condition.
I agree - I don't think it is either. They do make a similar one however that wallet is a pebbled leather and this feels like a faux leather. Additionally it was made in Vietnam, which I think most of their items are made in China or the United States.
I think you're right. I just check the creed and it's missing the information stating what country is was made in - which all the other bag have on the creed.
How do you think I did on the box? 🤔 Have you purchased this box before?

Reshaping the leather bag-buy a handbag organizer from Temu to provide structure.
Thnx! I ended up washing the bag and then just reshaping it by stuffing it.

For vintage leather coach to reshape you can give it a bath and then stuff it with towels to reshape

Reshaping, I dunk and clean the bag and stuff it while it dries. Be careful when you stuff it because that’s the shape you will get
I have heard others say they put them in the trunk being stuffed to reshape leather bags

Not a bad idea!
I got a couch box a few months ago. I have only sol 3 out if 5 if the items and still haven't broken even. I wont buy this box again.
That’s a bummer
Judt ordered one from ThredUp. Getting worried now. The vtg black is a good one. Cross my fingers.
I soak mine and stuff with towels. After it dries I condition the heck out of it.
Polish remover will remove color transfer on leather. Not suede
I use white vinegar. Let it dry and then use your suede brush.
I use Goof Off on ink.
the leather is my favorite one to get in these boxes too, but my most recent Thred up video I did Sunday I got a nice like snakeskin newer coach bag and it sold super quick.

It’s such a treat to get a beautiful vintage leather coach bag!

I did a designer handbag that one was better.
My personal feel is the regular handbag is the better buy.
The most redeeming part of it all was the vintage leather coach bag, that one was my personal favorite.
Hi,
Have you put ant Coach bags in the wash that has leather trim?
Thanks🌸
I didn't put that one through the wash - because it's a coated canvas I wasn't sure there would be too much benefit.
It’s a coach Willis and you can definitely get your money back on that vintage!
Isn’t it a gorgeous piece?
I ordered a coach box last year. Never again lol. I still have 1 of the pieces listed. I love vintage coach though. You’re right about ordering for yourself and using the others to offset the cost.
I take it none of the pieces in your box were good?
I like selling Coach too. I can find a piece that looks like it was buried in a litter box and it'll still sell. 😄
Hahaha I agree - I can sell anything! BUT it’s all about the COG and $20 for some of these was too rich for my blood. 😂
I love the Willis! 🤩
Of course we both would!

Hi hon I did not like what thread up sent you the wrapping was better than the merchandise 🙄🙄🙄🙄🤗🙋🏻♀️
Lol so true! The wrapping was the best part. Actually, I did like the bag at the end.
@@elducho yes that was one of the coach bags I had wayyyyy back when…. LOL….. I really would keep it if I were you
did you make money for this box?
Why do people send some of those bags into Thredup.

Thank goodness for the the Willis, the rest of it sucked! Shame on Thredup for sending the rotten ones!

When you buy these boxes do they reimburse you if an item is fake?
I mean, I feel like they should. What do you think?

I'm not sure how I feel about that box. My first impression is they charged a little too much for the box.
Agreed. Not best for resale.

I don’t necessarily disagree with you. Back in the day. The boxes used to be much better. Nowadays not so much.
I thought Thred up quit selling rescue boxes?
Nope! They are alive and well 😂
Linseed oil works on leather do not know about suede
Good to know, thnx!
I don’t think the purple wallet is authentic.

That bag with the sequins is definitely fake.
I totally agree

Not too exciting. 5 pieces for $100 not mush profit there. Think they did you dirty with that wallet damage!
