When theres mold in bread, you can't predict if it's going to be non-risky mold or one that would send you straight to hospital, so don't gamble on it like he would. Also, if you see a tiny spot of mold on your bread it means the entire bread (not just the spot) is contaminated by mold, it's not like cheese where you can just remove the moldy part.
