    Salt and Straw Ice Cream does this. They’re becoming quite a large chain over the last few years. But their variety is 10-20 flavors and they seem to switch out every few weeks or months. But the flavors are as random as Honey Lavender and Olive Oil. Which were surprisingly amazing. And the women at the counter insisted I try all 20 flavors. I couldn’t make it past 8. But I still bought more than I intended. 😂

    Olipop is a GOLDEN GOLDEN example of this. They do it better than anyone I've seen.
    They have their staple flavors, new temporary flavors, old flavors coming back, and they vary all of these across all their retailers and online.
    Olipop killed it with an excellent core product, but they keep me/a lot of other people coming back with REALLY high quality, differentiated follow-ups (and you never know how long they'll be around, what channels you'll be able to buy them, etc)

    Alex basically reverse engineered a core personality trait in 10 minutes by focusing on a business concept. Psychology uses the Big-5 personality traits with one of them being trait Openness: how open-minded, imaginitive, and insightful a person is. ex. If you don't have steaks or bacon cheeseburgers on your menu people aren't happy and if you never have anything new on the menu they get bored. Of course most major businesses know this to some degree, but the fact he likely has little to no experience with the psychology part directly and did it on the fly is impressive. Entrepeneurs tend to be high in openness trait.

Not hating AT ALL, just curious as to how Chick-fil-a has a genius business model by having only a few things on the menu and figuring out how to make those few items better and sell more of them. Then in this clip, Crumble has a genius business model because they have a cpl staples, but mainly a changing menu. They’re both food concepts but on opposite ends of the spectrum. Love the content!

    • @GarrickEllwood
      @GarrickEllwood Рік тому +3

      Think it has to do with the "fundamentals" vs "accessory" he's talking about starting around 1:40. When people want lunch, a fundamental, they want to know exactly what they're getting so they go to chic-fil-a and probably order the same thing every time. When they're looking at snacks and desserts, it's an accessory meal, so they're more open to experimenting and accepting risk of not liking the new option. The rotating menu at crumbl allows them to keep experimenting.

    Hold your steeds, oh youth of fervor! The mere act of baking cookies may appear trivial, but lo, only a select few can ascend to the echelons of celestial confectionery. From the ancient annals of culinary wisdom, I imbibed the secrets of the cookie-making maestro residing within the hallowed halls of La Segunda, a Spanish restaurant that has withstood the tempests of time for over a century in Tampa. And further, I was blessed to glean knowledge from the illustrious baker known as Christina Freeze, whose heavenly creations graced the realm of Tampa's palate during the halcyon days of the 90s. May her soul rest in eternal serenity.
    I possess the power to fashion a cookie so extraordinary, it shall beckon travelers from every corner of the globe, their hearts drawn to Tampa like moths to a flame. If destiny finds me in the illustrious domain of Las Vegas, I shall be most delighted to unveil the verity that not all cookies are mere replicas of one another. Prepare yourself, for a transcendental experience awaits, where buttery delights shall transcend the ordinary, and the symphony of flavors shall dance upon your tongue like an ethereal melody.

    I really don’t get the hype, overly sweet cookies. They’re over 500 calories a piece and over 60 grams of sugar for one cookie, also nobody is just buying one cookie. Well, I guess Americans are the easiest people to manipulate via food. If you’re starting a business in the food industry, if you’re questioning whether it’s sweet enough, it’s not! Add more sugar. More sugar = dopamine hit. Keep increasing sugar like crumbl and your customers will keep coming back because they’re truly addicted.

    Alex needs a nap he seems really tired and randomly rambling. The pizza chain idea like he had it right at first that people have their go to pizza and won't try the chilli cheese pizza just to see how it tastes let me get an additional small of that! I think that'd happen almost never. I stead what Dominoes did is offer cinnamon dough whatever and offered it as a like free add on to an order coupon. That way the barrier to the try the new thing was literally the guilt in eating too much or throwing some of it out or can I wait to eat left overs. There was no $ cost to customer I bet people ordered shit put of that during the promo and now they know of they liked it they will be much more likely now to retry that dessert pizza item
