4 days 3 nights to nowhere seems like a long long time inside such a huge ship. Glad you guys fully enjoyed the cruise and i am sure you guys missed land life and food. Thanks for sharing so much! Looking fw to you guys next adventure coming towards chinese new year! Cheers!
I've stayed on a ship 7 days way before COVID. Loved it. No problem. I'm usually very active during vacations, but sometimes I just need to relax. No problem. Plenty on the ship to do also for when I want to be active.
Thanks for the video, good to know what to expect as are going end of April, cannot wait! Any tips on which restaurants are good? Did you guys have to book the shows on the app as soon as you're on board? Thanks!
Hi Mina. Both the dining restaurants Americon grill and Silk serve the exact same food. So don't worry which one you go to. We recommend booking the shows as soon as you board as they sell out fast. Book everything you want to do on the app straight away and then enjoy 😊
Wow! You certainly got a flood of comments on this vlog! You guys are certainly making people from other parts of the world really, really jealous! I'm not a fan of cruising myself, because I hate crowds of people and these ships in pre covid times are always packed with people which I find stifling. But seeing how sparse Quantum is because of safe measures, I am actually gungho on going on an RC cruise when things are safe in Canada. I really don't mind the masks ( in fact I would wear one for safety reasons even if not mandatory, especially indoors). In an ideal world where everyone cooperates with safe distancing, not cough or sneeze into the air, practice good hygiene etc, masking may not be necessary outdoors, but unfortunately, many people are idiots and won't do what is necessary to prevent spread of disease. Also, if one is on a lounger, spaced safely apart, and not moving around but just soaking in the sun, masking is probably unnecessary....especially in Singapore where daily local infection numbers are either zero, one or two. Love your colorful matching shirts btw. Ash...your hair appears darker...are my eyes seeing right?
Thanks Eduardo!! Yes unfortunately there are people out there that won't follow safety guidelines and that is why they are not cruising. We have had some strange comments from people about never wearing a mask etc. Well there is a reason we are able to cruise and they are not!!! Like you Eduardo, we respect the safe distancing rules etc. This may be the way of cruising for a long time yet, so now is the best time to do it with reduced capacity. Glad you enjoyed the video! Thanks for all your amazing support on all of our videos 😊
Are the facilities available? Flow and ifly and bumper car right? I did once on voyager and it's the best cruise experience i had. You really feel like you're an appreciated customer. I paid extra for the pick a restaurant experience. I'm a peasant noob on fancy restaurant, yet i don't feel pressured/looked down upon when i have problem ordering. And when i feedback about the plastic/aluminuim in my lava cake, they were quick to replace after understanding the situation. No awkward questioning fiasco. I thought the situation was over but then the manager came and apologised and offer us a "rebate". He arranged for us to pick another restaurant to experience!!! Totally mindblown. But wait, that's not over. On the 3rd day we found strawberry dipped with chocolate in our cabin and an apology/thank you note from the chef!!!! So much gestures over small mistake(it's probably wrapping for the lava cake, nothing lethal). Growing up here, you r taught to suck it up as customer service dont really exist....so u can imagine how good it felt to be seen/heard? they really made my day Royal carribean... Ps: that italian restaurant makes the best aglio olio I've ever had in my entire life. And it's off menu!!! Like i said, I'm a noob, but The waitress was awesome for "pro tip" - ing me about what I can order/request. I really wish to go back again..... Let me win toto~~~~~~~
Yup everything was available. Cool story! We loved the customer service too. As you said, living in SG customer service is non existant, so the cruise was incredible for that reason! Thanks for watching 😊

@@ACoupleOfKiwis Well you've got another kiwi subscriber following you now 😁 was a bummer however it could not be helped our trip just happened to be booked when Covid was at its peak and aunty Jacinda announced lock down for NZ a week after we canceled our trip and we had planned it beginning of 2019. We actually got a full refund of our cruise instead of credit being the beginning of Covid I don't think anyone knew how long the pandemic will be so they were happy to fully refund us however it took a wee while to get back haha but we got it back in the end
Did you have to quarantine for 2 weeks in Singapore before you got on the ship? How did you come across this cruise? Very cool and fun to watch. A little short in time.
Hah, I was on the cruise that had the false alarm. We managed to do most of what we wanted to do during the first 2 days anyways. Spent the quarantine just binge watching anime in our room.
@@ACoupleOfKiwis Haha I wasnt scared at all. We were awoken at about 1am to an announcement by the captain saying that there was a confirmed case. I was too tired to bother so I just went back to sleep. When I woke up I just started playing games on my phone. I wasnt scared at all because the staff were really nice and that made me feel safe. Besides, we were assured that they had changed the ventilation system to be more effective in keeping the air clean. Really the only thing I was scared of was not having good food to eat or not having anything to do for the rest of the day. The food they gave was more than enough tho. In the end, we were refunded $200+ for that day, so overall it was really worth it.
When do you think they'll open up Singapore for other countries to cruise out of Singapore one more question how was the International Food and did you try any specialty dining
I can't Singapore opening up anytime soon sadly. We didn't try any specialty dining because we found the 'free' options perfectly suited us. Delecious and great service.

Been on the sister ship Anthem 4 times. Would've loved for it to have been this empty. Btw, there was never a charge for the North star or IFly. Guess RCCL is looking to make up money wherever they can.
50% capacity certainly has its advantages! Yeh they would have lost so much money so if they can get that back through extra charges then I guess that is fair
Thanks Govin 😊 Drinks package was well worth it. If you have a coffee in the morning. 3 or 5 cocktails throughout the day and a glass of wine with dinner, that would easily cover it. It was around $70 a day.
Great video guys. Brought back wonderful memories of my 15 night Ovation of the Seas cruise back in 2018. Everything looks the same as it did back then except for mask wearing of course and paying for activities. It’s a pity they now charge to ride North Star, it is a awesome view from up there.
Hi Glenda. Thanks for your comment 😊 we have heard they don't charge for the North Star on American cruises. Is that by any chance the cruise you went on?
No, my cruise commenced in Singapore and then circled Australia. We had stops in almost every capital city including Hobart in my home state of Tasmania. It was by far the best cruise I’ve taken in my 40+ years of cruising.
Its not but it has its benefits. Reduced numbers was awesome. The staff had less workload so were more helpful and friendly. But you have to wear a mask and checkin wherever you go

Don't think I'll ever cruise again until pandemic is under control as I'm high risk also the fact they're talking about not being able to get off at ports unless on a ship excursion ruins it for me as I walk everywhere at ports. That's how I enjoy seeing places, on foot not on a bus.

Thanks for sharing your trip! It's interesting the things that, when sailing out of Singapore, you have to pay for (boogie boards, observation bubble) which are free when sailing out of the US. If there's one thing I was disappointed in it was the lack of commentary as to what the experience was like with health protocols in place. No talk of how they handled buffets, what the rules were when sitting at a bar... aside from the fact you guys were wearing masks, there was really nothing that provided any information to help people wondering whether or not a cruise under the current circumstances would be "worth" it for them.
We potentially have a video coming with a bit more info. Essentially it follows the exact rules of the country its sailing out of. So in this case Singapore.
Wow! …. Thanks for the Video. 👏👌👍 How much extra per head on top of ticket I need to pay in SGD (to access all activities which are not included in package)? Can help with approx. number like X or Y SGD 😇

Any tips on which restaurants are good? Did you guys have to book the shows on the app as soon as you're on board?

Hi Mina.
Both the dining restaurants Americon grill and Silk serve the exact same food. So don't worry which one you go to.

@@jasmina1319 you're welcome. Happy to answer any other questions you may have 😊

No way! Were you a bit scared? And did you get a refund of some sort?
@@ACoupleOfKiwis Haha I wasnt scared at all. We were awoken at about 1am to an announcement by the captain saying that there was a confirmed case. I was too tired to bother so I just went back to sleep. When I woke up I just started playing games on my phone. I wasnt scared at all because the staff were really nice and that made me feel safe. Besides, we were assured that they had changed the ventilation system to be more effective in keeping the air clean. Really the only thing I was scared of was not having good food to eat or not having anything to do for the rest of the day. The food they gave was more than enough tho.
