What I loved so much in watching all of your videos is that, it was not overly rescripted Singapore as little China. You diversified your adventure through the main cultures that made Singapore Singapore! I would loved to see you do a vlog on Geylang Serai and to taste majority of Malay food that you can find at the food center that situated on top of the famous Geylang Serai Wet Market!.
You can try the 36km Coast to Coast Trail from Chinese Garden to Coney Island. Also the old railway track connector which leads you from Queenstown to Woodlands... But its half completed, but u can try.
Hi guys, thanks for choosing SG and also sing such high praises abt SG... Hope you guys really enjoy your time here and SG continue to be awesome for many more expats and locals 👍
Pulau Ubin is a great place to head over by a small ferry boat and biking around the Island...It's a great contrast to the super modern world just a few min off the coast...love it
Love you guys . Thanks for the positive vibes .One other interesting aspect of Singapore is multi ethnic nature of the country and the colourful ethnic districts from Chinatown to Arab street and Serangoon Road. Keep up the good work.
Grateful to you for your time and efforts in sharing your experiance and findings of Singapore. As a tiny multi-racial, cultural and religious nation, we welcone peoples of the world to having interesting good time here. Thank you. Best wishes to you both for having more joyful and blessed experience in life!
I stayed in NZ for 6 months and travel around South and North island. NZ is beautiful and people there are so kind & friendly. I have a good memory in NZ.
Great video guys. It’s been about 20 years since we’ve been to Singapore. We love to go back to there again once us kiwis here can travel further than OZ again. Stay safe x
We live in Auckland. 🥰 I read that Singapore ‘could’ be another travel bubble for us maybe early next year if our vaccine rollout goes well. Your videos have got me excited for travel again seeing all the new changes over there. Even Sentosa Island has had lots of cool updates. We took our first cruise from there so would love to do another one again. Looking forward to watching more content from you both ❤️
When I was younger, in the 80s and 90s, Marina Bay was always known as a great spot to fly kites and have picnics. My father used to bring us there all the time. Then when I hit my 21 birthday, I got s*** face drunk for the first time at a club along the old marina bay. I learnt to play billiards at Marina south. So many memories...Those places are long gone now... they have all made way for the new things you see. Not sure how I feel about it. Its bittersweet. I don't live there now. Left 9 years back... I don't recognise the "marketable" image of Singapore. However, if I dig deeper, the core of Singapore is still there. Like I said... bittersweet...
I think that can be said for many places. Times change and move on. But as you said, you can still find the core of a places. Especially with the locals 😊
Have you explored Our farms at lim chu kang? You can also explore various lesser known nature spaces here such as Clementi forest, Dover forest, Tampines Eco Green, Berlayer Creek boardwalk, Kranji Marshes, lower pierce reservoir, Chestnut nature park and much more!
I've been to New Zealand back in 2015 for study purpose, NZ is one of the safest and I really love NZ. :) Wish I could go back to NZ again in the future. I'm a new subscriber I just found your channel. I'll be going to study at Singapore soon, looking forward to it. 🙂🥰❤
Love your video. Regarding Point 4, Singapore is definitely a city full of fun activities. But as mentioned in my video, language to use for searching for activities is definitely critical. In addition, every city can be fun, in my opinion, as long as the person is fun.
Singaporean here! I on the other hand can't wait to escape back to South Island. Miss the wide expanse, the air, Pukaki and the wines at countdown omg!
You should try cycling from your place up the Kallang River park connectors to Bishan Park and then to Lower Pierce and Upper Pierce Reservoir! Bishan Park has a beautifully sculpted canal turned river which leads to the tranquil reservoir!
Lovely! It's my favourite too! Bukit Batok Nature Park has a beautiful zen Look Out Point. And if you cycle 5 min away there is Little Guilin at the former granite quarry. If you like to travel far west beyond any MRT station, cycle or take a bus to the Lim Chu Kang farming community with Hay Dairies goat farm where you can buy milk and feed goats, Bollywood Veggies where you can have a meal, shop fresh produce and walk around the edible garden. Sungei Buloh Wetland Reserve is nearby and I'm sure you've already visited!
@@LutherYiew wow I did not know there was a goat farm in SG!!! That is something we want to check out now! We love Sungei Buloh, we did a video there and saw a crocodile!!
After living in Singapore my whole life, I am guilty of never visited many places before. Mainly the various parks and nature reserves. And also tour of attractions that required a ticket 😛
If you like parks, I recommend the Bishan-Ang Mo Kio Park. It is a big local park that is well-known by locals but not really by foreigners or tourists (it’s a park for locals - they enjoy it a lot, but it’s within local residential areas on the heartlands of Singapore, so not in touristy areas) It is a cute little park and quite pretty.
We visited Singapore 7 years and loved it. We had planned to go back late last year-That didn't work out so well did it? There is talk that Aus will form a bubble with Singapore so fingers crossed.
hey guys sweet hotel room!!! hahaha!! so cool to hear what you thought virus reality and what you experienced!!! iv always heard Singapore is safe to good to know it really is!!! can't wait to visit the airport looks insane and such a good location to travel from I agree!! nice to hear also that Singapore can be cheap or somethings :D great video guys!!! :D ohhhh there is heaps to do in Singapore!! can't wait to explore one day! didn't know it was the size of lake taupo that's so small!!!!!!!
Hey guys! Nice to hear from you. Hope you are well 😊 Yes SG is so small. But it doesn't feel that small when you are there. It packs a punch. Looking forward to seeing more of your videos 😊
If you're into nature you can check out NParks on all the parks located all over Singapore. Other interesting hikes - Bukit Timah Hill, Bukit Brown walk, Coney Island, Sungei Buloh Wetlands and exploring the islands - St John & Kusu island, Pulau Ubin and naturally the beach @ Changi Village with an excellent Food centre there too
Glad you enjoying Singapore, and yes pls support the local hawkers and small businesses, such a tough time for all. and guys you have to find your way to the Clementi Forest, its like the Jurassic Park minus the dinosaurs, great hike!
May I say, you guys are looking better and better as the days go by - more and more radiant! The humidity must be real good for the skin. - Much Aroha from Aotearoa
Try our public swimming pools, especially those that comes with wave pools, jacuzzi pools, slides and so on at an entry fee of about $2! My Australian friends living here love to bring their kids to such swimming pools.
So happy that you guys enjoyed SG! Lived here all my life and I am so proud. My husband and I did a campervan trip in the south island NZ a few years and we love love love NZ. Planning to retire in NZ if we can afford haha... any tips?
Come to the east, there are many connected green spaces. Pasir Ris is one major area, with the beach and the entire park. Connects to the Tampines Ecogreen as well.
@@ACoupleOfKiwis What about Punggol Eco-park, have you been here? The End of Punggol is Punggol Settlement that has a seafood restaurant, bars, etc and walk a bit up will be the Coney Island.
@@ACoupleOfKiwis definitely it will, but it's a great move by the gov though. As the current bird park located at an awkward place which is more to a industry area.
Very good & truthful review. Yes, our little red dot has lots to offer for both locals & expats of all cultures. Expats & foreign workers should open up and integrate into our very diverse multiracial culture. That would make living here interesting, meaningful & inexpensive. But if foreigners gets locked into your home country lifestyles then living here would be hard.
We think its important to immerse yourself in the local culture when you move countries. Otherwise what is the point of moving abroad... Thanks for watching Lee 😊
Thanks for such a beautiful insight ...even I have got to understand from various video where ppl say Singapore is expensive n nothing much to do ..thanks for breaking these myth.
Thank you for your compliments about Singapore 🇸🇬.. everything you say is true .. only minus for a fellow Singaporean is the hot weather and humidity:( Otherwise.. yes our little red dot is (almost) perfect . 🥰
You can try going on history walks like fort canning park and so on. If you also want, you can actually try going to our goat, frog and vegetable farms.
Ah, thanks v much-its a v nice concised video of yr impressions after a 2 years stay. Maybe both of you can do an update video 6-12 months down the road, to explore how our S'porean lifedtyle are increasingly improved by new technology to overcome our small island limitations of space - eg (1) how we are now starting to harnessing solar energy by building massive solar floating platforms on lakes, reservoirs n on HDB roof tops. N expanding high tech clean technology vegatable farms n growing vegetables on roof tops too. You can guide tourists to tour these eco-friendly places with low carbon footprint n which are fast transforming soon the Spore lifestyle into a sustainable green & even more livable eco-friendly city Island country.... Just a thought.... Best wishes to the Kiwis!
Nice to see a couple of Kiwis having such high regards for Singapore, having live there for just 2 years. Kudos to the capable people (government) who managed to turn this tiny red dot 🔴 into such a successful nation in just 55 years.
Comparatively, I was staying in Tekapo for a year and have never once felt unsafe about anything at all! Gosh, I miss NZ so so much. Wouldn't have come back if Covid hadn't struck. The grass is definitely always greener on the other side haha.
For sure. Places like Tekapo are very safe. But Auckland (NZ biggest city) is definitely not as safe as Singapore. We aren't comparing NZ and SG, they are totally different. This was just about SG and our thoughts and assumptions 😊
You Guys can also explore Our neighbourhood area like punggol waterway Park , punggol point park , Coney island park and many more... and thank you that you guys love Singapore 🇸🇬🇦🇺
Taxi feels a little expensive to me but that's cos i compare it to the MRT and Bus haha. I remember very well when taxi didn't have the starting charge of $2+, the charges only start the moment you hail it down so my grandma would often just take the Taxi even though it's like a 200m walk from the market back home 🤣 Only when i went to Australia back in 1999 i realize how crazy expensive Taxi was over there compared to what we have today in Singapore.
Whenever anything about NZ poop up , be it advertisement, news etc .. it reminds me one of my favorite movies of all time “lord of the ring 1/2/3” and I certainly would like to travel there the quickest possible & suit up like the movie character Legolas hopping here or there , taking great pictures, flying my drone all other exciting stuffs before my days meet .. 🥰

@@ACoupleOfKiwis - currently about 130 stations across six MRT lines and there are more than 40 stations across two LRT lines. Realistically, if you visit one station per day, every day, it can be done within 6 months 🤔. Some stations (the LRTs) are closer to each other, you can cover 2-3 in a day 😉. Visit - I assume you’ll exit the station and explore the surrounds, rather than just hopping in & out on the platform?😂 Also, assumption #3 - eating at local coffee-shops is also cheaper, smaller selection/ variety than hawker centre, but no less tasty and very affordable!

Thanks Angela. We appreciate the support 😊
More cliches than myths since they're true.
@@kayflip2233 thats why we called them assumptions haha
@@ACoupleOfKiwis I know, I was talking to Angela since she said they were myths, meaning all false.

Thanks for watching 😊
Geylang is an area we would love to explore more so will note down the food center! 😊

Awesome Andrew! At least you will be used to the climate 🤣🤣
woodlands water front, very near the causeway… beautiful sunset view, and you can see Johore from there too.
A really beautiful spot. We have been out there but didn't video it. We also like going out to Tuas and the causeway out there 😊
You can try the 36km Coast to Coast Trail from Chinese Garden to Coney Island.
Also the old railway track connector which leads you from Queenstown to Woodlands... But its half completed, but u can try.
We have always wanted to do the coast to coast.
I have walked the Green corridor, its stunning 😊
Hi guys, thanks for choosing SG and also sing such high praises abt SG... Hope you guys really enjoy your time here and SG continue to be awesome for many more expats and locals 👍
Thanks for watching and supporting us 😊

Thank you and hope you guys continue to enjoy your stay here.
It certainly does! The 2yrs we have been in Singapore have been interesting to say the least haha. We wouldn't change anything though. 😊
U r right! Singapore is so compact that so many things can be done with minimal time spend on travelling.
The best public transport we have ever used.
It was my dream to go New Zealand since I’m a kid. Hope that I can travel after the covid ends
We have our fingers crossed for you 😊🤞
Pulau Ubin is a great place to head over by a small ferry boat and biking around the Island...It's a great contrast to the super modern world just a few min off the coast...love it

Great video guys. It’s been about 20 years since we’ve been to Singapore. We love to go back to there again once us kiwis here can travel further than OZ again. Stay safe x
O wow! It would have changed a lot in those 20yrs too I bet!
We have our 🤞 a bubble opens up soon.

It’s definitely up there on our travel bucket list to visit again once our government gives us the green light for travel as it’s a beautiful city 🥰
It certainly is. Where are you now?
We have walked quite a few of these parks. They are beautiful 😊
I've been to New Zealand back in 2015 for study purpose, NZ is one of the safest and I really love NZ. :) Wish I could go back to NZ again in the future. I'm a new subscriber I just found your channel.

We could do a video although we aren't experts. We are both teachers so the process for us was quite different
Love your video. Regarding Point 4, Singapore is definitely a city full of fun activities. But as mentioned in my video, language to use for searching for activities is definitely critical. In addition, every city can be fun, in my opinion, as long as the person is fun.
Very good point about the person being fun!! An underated part of travel and living abroad is enjoying the experience and making it fun 😊
I'm happy to see you are loving life here in Singapore. ❤
I would love to visit New Zealand one day in the future. It's a beautiful country.

You should try cycling from your place up the Kallang River park connectors to Bishan Park and then to Lower Pierce and Upper Pierce Reservoir! Bishan Park has a beautifully sculpted canal turned river which leads to the tranquil reservoir!
Hey Luther. You have just described my favourite ride! I do this weekly. I find it so beautiful and relaxing. 😄
Hey there
We literally ride through Bishan every fortnight for an evening bike ride. We love it 😁
We visited Singapore 7 years and loved it. We had planned to go back late last year-That didn't work out so well did it? There is talk that Aus will form a bubble with Singapore so fingers crossed.

Yes SG is so small. But it doesn't feel that small when you are there. It packs a punch.

If you're into nature you can check out NParks on all the parks located all over Singapore. Other interesting hikes - Bukit Timah Hill, Bukit Brown walk, Coney Island, Sungei Buloh Wetlands and exploring the islands - St John & Kusu island, Pulau Ubin and naturally the beach @ Changi Village with an excellent Food centre there too
We are looking forward to doing a video on St John and Lazarus islands. We also love Sungei Buloh. We saw crocodiles there.
Assumption 6: the weather in Singapore is hot.
Absolutely true. I go to NZ for the cool weather and you come to Singapore for the hot weather.

Try visiting Changi Point and have a meal at The Coastal Settlement. Is amazing
