I was on Depo. My doctor told me I wouldn’t get pregnant for 12-18 months. I was married in May. I found out I was 8 weeks pregnant the following February. I didn’t even KNOW I was pregnant, b/c when you’re on Depo you don’t get your period at all. So all of these people saying you need to get an abortion at 6 weeks are RIDICULOUS! You can’t control what women do with their bodies. Period. (BTW, we have a beautiful son 😊❤).

I'm a woman of 52 years of age.... I was blessed with six beautiful children but also sadly suffered five miscarriages, one requiring an emergency surgical intervention in hospital.... The prospect of rightwing religious nuts placing me under interrogation or limiting my choices in what was literally a life and death decision for me, is utterly beyond comprehension in the 21st century.
Noone has the right to impose their religious beliefs onto the human rights of privacy and Healthcare of a woman, her medical practitioner and her family.

Gone are the days of picketing clinics and shaming girls/women that choose to abort. It should be safe, rare and always her choice
The best ways to make abortion rare are to 1) make condoms and hormonal contraceptives readily accessible and cheap to reduce unwanted pregnancies before they happen, and 2) to build our social safety nets (including food stamps, welfare, free childcare, orphanages) so that parents can raise children without becoming destitute _or_ safely relinquish children into state custody.

Two different things I think
Mifepristone is an abortifacient while the "morning after pill" AKA Plan B is a different drug entirely and one that can't induce an abortion. Different mechanisms of action entirely. Both should be available to women who want them.

It wasn't that long ago, when the United States of America had laws against interracial marriages, same-sex marriages, women able to vote, single women able to own land, etc.

I'm a man, & I still say that no one has the right to tell a woman what she can & can not do with her own body. No one should ever be able to force a woman to have a child if they don't want to have a child for whatever reason because it's her body & her choice, not yours. This is just one of the things that's wrong with our country today, trying to turn back time to where men ruled everything & women were considered the lesser of the two sexes, which we all know they are not.!! 🤬💯

It is not an abortion pill, it is the morning after pill. It is still called that in my state
The abortion pill, mifepristone, is different than the morning after pill (aka Plan B).
Mifepristone is different from RU 486
So many people do not know that Mifepristone is completely different that Plan B (RU486). Mifepristone causes the foetus to shed from the uterus (abortion). Plan B prevents the zygote from implanting at all - so the woman is never pregnant in the first place (contraception).
Legislators really should be required to study a subject before they are even allowed to write legislation or vote on it.
Mifepristone can be used up to 70 days after the start of the last menstrual period. Does that sound like "the morning after" to you?
No, the morning after pill is what you can take up to 72 hours after having sex to make sure a pregnancy doesn't start, and it's just a triple dose of a birth control pill, whereas the abortion pill is to end a pregnancy that's already underway, like the comments before this one explains. 2 totally different medications.
I hope politicians like Mace and Sununu gain momentum in the GOP. It must be hard to live in a country that only has two mayor parties, one of which is completely crazy and the other is still pretty corrupt as well..

I've never had an abortion but I did consider it when I was pregnant with my daughter. I had my reasons for thinking about not keeping the pregnancy but at the end of the day I chose life. When given the choice, I think most do choose life when it's a seemingly healthy pregnancy. So why take that away? What is the sense. Most women make the right choice for themselves

The fact that this Republicon said not at 'nine months' tells us that once again, we have a politician who does not know very much about gestation. A term pregnancy is forty weeks, Not nine months. A preterm baby at twenty four weeks is very fragile, and with good care and luck survivable.
