This 550m Sniping spot is too much fun in Tarkov

- I had planned on running this shot for a single day, but once things got rolling I couldn't stop myself and ended up sniping from here on stream for an entire week straight. I picked some of my favorite shots to toss into the video, but they hardly do this spot justice. I rushed this spot regardless of the side I spawned on Woods, and only went a single raid without ever seeing any targets. SgtPrepperTV on Twitch o7

The new variable scopes are a rare BSG W. You can actually get onto the rocks/mountain behind and above sniper/dickhead rock if you are looking from sawmill and you can shoot to USEC, Sawmill and Med Camp.
Bipods too, otherwise the sway is wild even prone with a 25x

Years ago, I actually used this to finish SBIH when it required distance. There are some crazy angles on the bigger maps
This is the first time I’ve ever seen someone else using this angle. It’s disgusting(ly good). Glad someone else has figured it out. This is why a lot of chads are scared of woods. Good stuff

Honestly seeing how much strong lines of sight get blocked in game shows that someone at BSG pays attention when they're placing terrain.
Games with bullet travel time and bullet drop make for the most satisfying sniping. Favorite play style, right here.
Variable scopes in 0.15 actually look hella good, damn. Finally some proper sniping material with the bipod too

I have to admit, because of fog, I didn't have much luck on sniping usec camp previously, I mostly used that to snipe scav town.
Third raid and i have not seen a single soul :D I usually wait until the 16 min mark to make my way to extract. Whats the optimal time to set up in that spot in your experience?
I see people there in the first 10 minutes more than 90% of the time, but a bad spawn might miss the people who spawn close the the camp since they can be there in 1-2 min.

Are mil dots accurate in tarkov for every round or do you have to account for different velocities not matching the caliber intended for the scope?
Not at all, this shot is around 540 and is 3 mil dots down after zeroing to 450. I had to test offline first to dial this and other rifles/rounds in

I did spend 4 days doing this, but if you get a good spawn I think 90% of my raids someone came through in the first 10 minutes.
Tbf if there's one spot where you can guarantee at least one player, it's this one

And honestly, people show up 99% of raids within the first 7 minutes when I rush the spot, assuming I spawn on that side. This area is looted pretty much every raid, since it has tons of ammo/crates and even a ledx spawn etc.

Could you tell me please, how do you know how much does bullet drops? Do you test it? Do you have some charts?
I tested different rifles and ammo offline before I ran this spot, the mil dots don’t work accurately with the m700/m62 in this shot, but when testing I liked that I’d have a tracer, and it lined up perfectly at the crate with the third mil dot.
@SgtPrepperTV Last wipe me and my friend tried to snipe from 500+ meters on lighthouse and it was pain to figure out where to shoot cause each rifle+bullet combination gave different result so you have to stick with something. We sniped from AXMC+FMJ and I did some testing with it and made a range chart. With that we got some 500+ kills and one 706 meter kill (we used 50m zeroing). Can I share the video with you here? You'll probably like it.

yay.... this is no longer a good spot because now you just get people going to it from all corners of the map. the whole point of spots like this was that people didn't know you were there. now anytime people at usec get shot they immediately look here. hate being that guy but gatekeeping is there for a reason

does this have any impact in pmc karma? when I try to snipe i get the bad karma sound effect after a couple of minutes
It hasn’t triggered it, karma only seems to matter when near a bush.
Fun fact: Always fog and rain in 9 out of 10 raids. This game sucks ass and i played it since january 2017.
