I love my Kompound Hammock. Bought it a couple of months ago and it looks like they’ve changed their tree straps, as mine had 10 daisy chains one each strap so much better now. I was out in it on Saturday night with the OneTigris underquilt in -3° and was comfortable! Can’t go wrong for the money! 👍
I’ve ordered this through Amazon with the prime day deals. Less than £50. It’s funny for most camping equipment I look up your video comes up at or near the top. Keep up the good work, your contents awesome.
I got one about 6 weeks ago and the tree huggers now have about 12 loops on the ends, this makes it more versatile and yes it is a great hammock, well done. Stay safe.
Really enjoyed this review, straight to the point and definitely got your points across. The one thing I will say is that if one Tigris replaces the membrane double zip to a centre zip then that will completely change the storage of the membrane. Having a zip each side means you can roll it and tuck it away into the mesh bag at the bottom, having a zip down the middle would mean you’d have to roll up each side beside you which would be a lot harder and longer to do!
Thank you for this detailed review. I was looking at this hammock, but wasn't sure. Your presentation has convinced me to buy one. Personally, I like the idea of two side zips, rather than one down the middle. I love that it has not only a bug net, but also a solid cover so that you can have some privacy. Looks like a great piece of kit, and I'm popping over to Amazon via your link to buy one now!
Thanks Dan. Great video I’ll get one of those. I bought the one tigress hot tent back in December and the Outbacker stove thanks to your videos and am loving it. So keep them coming. 👍👍👍👍🍺🍺🍺🍺
Thanks Dan, just bought it and with no instructions, had a bit of confusion with the membrane.. lol. As always, brilliant video. Cheers again. By the way my tree straps has 10 daisy chains, so bonus there 🤣
@@ewantheboat I totally get hammock camping tried it many times , it is each to their own , I know people who prefer hammock over tent and people who like tent over hammock , depends on the person
Looks like a good hammock especially for the price. Here in Canada & USA there’s so many hammock vendors. And most of their products are made here and not mass produced in China. Warbonnet hammocks are very popular. And they have great tarps also. Anyways thanks for sharing. Take care and stay safe.
I got one of these after watching you and Oscar reviewing it. I love my DD Frontline but wanted something a bit lighter. Will be testing mine out in a couple of weeks time. Love your reviews. :-)
Thanks a lot. Now I’m going to sell my jungle hammock from snugpak to get this one. 🤣. Wish I’d seen your review earlier. Great video!! Keep em up and going.
Hammocked for over 30 years... I'm 5' 11" tall 180lb and EVERY hammock I have ever used that's under 10' long is not comfortable at all. If you are 5' tall this might work but the lay in an 11' hammock is the best I have ever found. Several friends (various height) agree.
I have DD TRAVEL /BIVI hammock (I have Mazonas too) and i love both of those. Maybe I have to buy this one too, to test it. Keep making these videos mate. I just got back home from my first hammoc camping trip this spring. 2 c° this morning. Love from Finland.
I like the two zips either side, i think it's okay as I've had issues with zips for years and if one goes i have another. It is a good one, i have a cheap jungle hammock and i must say it's pretty good - you did a review of one; It's £20 on eBay but I can't fault it, for use in the early and late season I string another single underneath and put a liner home made waterproof blanket/duvet (old sleeping bag and foil heat reflector made into a pocket for the sleeping bag) that keeps me warm from the cold coming up between the two hammocks. cost complete without sleep system -£30. I then have the same in the hammock for sleeping, bivvy liner and sleeping bag, 2 for late or early season, the smaller mummy bag going into the larger bag until i get an ex army polar bag. I know, what about the weight. What weight? It all goes in my panniers. I take a larger kit in the trailer for longer rides. (over 250km).
@@englishwoodsman tbh I'd prefer no zips at all, just a drawcord at the top - you could always turn them inside out for cleaning and whatnot. I hang mine in a cupboard and only put them back in the stuff sacks a night or so before heading out. Do you waterproof the outsides of your sleeping bags (lightly) or just go with the bivvy liner for that? I lost 3 good sleeping bags and a jacket due to zips, they're not my favourite thing.
Check out the Amok Dramur XL With the winter pad and tarp!! I recommend that everyone should check it out!!! It may weigh a pound more but it’s a totally different system!! It’s changing the idea of a hammock for a flatter lie with tons more storage and even sets up in chair mode! Google their website!! Watch theirs and a bunch of UA-cam videos! It’s a bit more expensive but no underquilt to buy!! It’s an all in one kinda kit!!! Made in Norway!!! I think it might be worth the extra cash!!! Buy one and do a video on it!! I/We would love to see it!!!
How do you install a center zip on the inside membrane when it will defeat the purpose of the hanging clips which are in the center hanging the membrane up off of you. I think two zips the way they have it is because of that reason! If they wanted to have one zip then they would have to offset the zip. That might not be as effective a solution either! I think 2 zips might be the best way for those reasons!!! Great video! Thanks!!
Small World... I literally just received my first hammock. It's not the same brand, but looks pretty much exactly the same. Mine cost about £35 with postage. Going to try this weekend. Hopefully it won't be to dreadful. Lol
Hi Dan, just nabbed one of these on amazon Germany on your recommendation. Completely new to hammock camping. What are your recommendations on keeping warm in them?
Never slept in a hammock Dan.. Do you get a more comfortable sleep in a hammock or in a tent on a air mat??? Cheers Dan all the best marra take care stay safe 👍🏕️
I've always struggled with hammocks being a side/stomach sleeper and bigger was always better especially for a flatter lay. I like the features on this though!
Bought one of these after so many glowing reviews on UA-cam. They have updated the tree straps to have more loops after feedback which is nice to see. Only issue I had was the build quality was woeful. The tree straps stitching failed on first use. It arrived with poor stitching on the bug net which failed on first use. The thermal later makes it difficult to get out when you need to. The best feature is that, when purchased thru Amazon, you can return this piece of crap for a refund. Won’t be buying oneTigris products again after this experience. Wouldn’t recommend
I feel like everyone that sed this hammock rocks, just wanted one tigres ta send them gear....i got this terd and returned it almost instantly. Whuta flop...

It probably is just me , i still prefer a tent over a hammock , really like these reviews though , really good

Do you think it would be a good idea? To use that suction layer area as a A place for your inflatable air mattress in the winter
Maybe. There is one thing to do give it a try

I struggled with this also, then I started putting my air mat in the hammock and discovered I could “sort of” side sleep in it.
@@shanemotley9955 Look for a double hammock, it makes a world of difference but you will need a bigger tarp as it's a fair bit longer.
I’ve always wondered if that would work. Thanks for the info.
I love that hammock do you think that other zip is for a sleeping mat or hammock blanket ? Thanks again for posting
No mate it's to hight for that
Would the membrane be sufficient for replacing a tarp during winter camping in snow, ice, and rainfall?
What do you do in stormy weather, dosent the rain go down the tree huggers and soak the hammock?
