No they are completely different. moimoi is made from bean flour, while okpa is made from Bambara nut flour.. they look similar when cooked, but they tastes completely different and so is their smell and texture.. the ingredients used to make them are also totally different too. Okpa is a delicacy mostly made by the eastern part of Nigeria, and is usually eaten for breakfast
Start by measuring out 5 cups of Okpa flour. To that, add 500 ML of palm oil and mix until completely incorporated . To the okpa mixture, add half cup of water and mix until completely incorporated. then add 1 cup of hot water and mix for about two minutes until completely incorporated. Then add 1 and half cup of water and mix for four minutes. Add another 1 and half cup of hot water and mix for four minutes again. Add another one cup of water and mix for another four minutes . To the mixture add your scotch bonnet pepper, 3 teaspoons of salt and remaining 1 cup of water and mix for another 4minutes Please note: if you add water to your pepper in other to blend it, remember to subtract the amount of water you used to blend the pepper from the total amount of water needed to make your Okpa recipe.
