The crazy thing is I haven't left Florida since January 2010 when I drove up to Gatlinburg, Tennessee. And I haven't been on a plane since September 2004 when I flew to California for a friend's wedding. People think it is weird when I take some vacation time, they ask where I am going, and I say: "Tampa....maybe Orlando or St. Petersburg too." Being a single dad on a single income limited quite a bit financially, so we would usually do day-trips, using my yearly bonus or income tax refund to buy Disney or Universal theme park passes so we could hit them up on the weekend I had my son (my ex wife used to have him every other Friday after school until Sunday evening, with me having him all the other times). Now that he is 18, she moved away to Colorado and the custody stuff is done. But so is the child support and health insurance. So I am slowly adjusting things to be able to one day afford some bigger trips. The weird thing is that now that he is 18 I started dating again and my girlfriend LOVES to travel. She is in Greece this week, was in Egypt for two weeks in November, and is planning a trip to Spain in June. So she is taking me to Chicago the end of May which is super sweet, but it will be nerve wracking to leave my son here for four days. Being 18 now is different somehow than when I was 18 :) But anyways, I love living vicariously through the travel videos others make. Nice stuff....Vickers....vicariously....there is a joke in there.....if I can find it. :)
JV doesn't really travel either. I like to go away - Bermuda was a trip my mom and I went on to celebrate her retirement. It was cool, probably the last time we'll ever travel together. I'm grateful I vlogged it.
