Nothing to be sad about..... Except, you know, the people that the companies abused and took advantage of to get where they are now. Or how many of the singers got where they are through being part of the in-crowd and having connections rather than actual talent. Or how the truly talented users of this platform were bullied out because UA-cam now prefers the old-media moguls like NBC, Disney, and the major news networks, and that the users that made UA-cam so magical in the first place were maybe a little too edgy to be advertiser-friendly, so the biggest creators of yesteryear either cleaned up their act and slowly became irrelevant over time, kept up the edgy and lost their channel, or just walked away entirely.
There's a lot to be sad about. UA-cam was a place for its community. Now it's a place against its own community, instead rolling out the red carpet for the same menaces that so many of us came to UA-cam to get away from in the first place, with no new place yet for all of us to flee to...

Most of the channels that I watch have around 300k subscribers or less, all I have watched from their humble beginnings. I actually have a lot of favourite channels with around 10k -40k. I find the production values, enthusiasm, and genuine nature of these UA-camrs to be far greater than those accounts with millions of subscribers. The only channel that I follow regularly with more than one million subscribers is Linus Tech Tips.
