    I enjoyed listening to the lecture even more than reading. It is filtered knowledge of history which is acquired after extensive reading and learning. Thanks a lot for sharing this wealth.

    William langland.. 1 piers plowman poem.. satirical.. Chronicle.. history of it's time..
    John Gower ... Wrote in french n Latin also...
    His English poems: conffessio amentis ..1381.. satirical n critical
    Chaucer: Canterbury tales..
    The prologue..by Chaucer himself
    The wife of bath .. she had 6 husbands and preparing for 7th.
    The clerk ..of Oxford..
    Miller's tale..vulgar..
    Complete characters like novelists...rationality ,logicicality.
    Sign of approaching Renaissance
    The book of duchess.
    Parliament of owls.
    Troillos and ..cresedes.?
    (Henry 8 ... married 4 , killed 3 wives for a male child but nothing ..got a daughter.. Elizabeth)
    2 more group of poets.
    Chaucer's successors:(England)
    John Lydgate: the fall of princess,
    The temple of glass, London Lacks penny
    Thomas hoccleve : the regent of princess (Chaucer wanted me to learn but I was dull)
    Alexander Barclay: the sip of fools..
    Scottish chaucerians
    Gwyne Douglas..the Palace of honour..
    Robert henryson: the moral fables like panchtantra..
    William Dunbar:the thistle and the rose, the golden torch
    David Lyndsay: the testament of squire...the satire of the 3 states
    ....
    John skeleton 1460-1521..
    Nor chaucerian nor Petrarchian .
    Speak parrot (Henry 8's time)
    He wrote this satiring Tomas vulzay..
    Why come ye not to court (when vulzay was imprisoned):
    He will play checkmate with royal majesty.
    Skeltonic metre: a clever repetition of very short lines sounding breathless ..
    A transitional poet...
    Petrarch; 1st to write 14 line sonnet. 8+6

      Henry VIII married SIX times and he DID have a son who ruled very briefly as Edward VI before dying young and being succeeded first by Mary Tudor, Henry's oldest daughter, and then by Elizabeth who was condemned by some as being illegitimate....

      @@sahilsabharwal3982 The students rely on them for facts and those who like english literature should know all the correct facts which they don't provide. This case is not in one video of him but in almost every video. He should at least correct his knowledge. So who rely on them and the next generations will know the correct facts of the history
