    The animal Whistles which could be bought for $8 a pair from Super Cheap or from Repco or any Auto Accessory shop would certainly keep them away.
    These whistle WORK as they did on the Nullabour when 5 kangaroos came out of the scrub from the right - then did a smart about turn back into the scrub. No kangaroos were injured. Without the whistles in a location 30k west of Mundrabilla the situation could be a lot different.
    As for the bull bar it might not help if you hit a cow or a camel.

      Give the guy a break. Sometimes driving at night your reflexes may be off. Especially on long trips. Here in the USA we have deers and bears getting hit all the time. They usually are out during a full moon or in the early dawn grazing.

      Guy didn't even slow down, this was on purpose, I'm always confused about how people can hit roos, like it happens, but on the highway the other day I saw 8 of them in a hour stretch, now I know, crazy psychos like this that don't look, don't slow down and don't care. Maybe it the same person that keep disappearing all the towns cats...

      @@rkaycom ... yes the roo co-operated on purpose. You clearly are not from Aus... they just jump out, suicide like. It takes maybe a couple of seconds... not enough time to react when you are concentrating on the road. I hit wallabies (smaller kangaroos) even driving at 40 kmh... they are hidden by grass on the roadside and sometimes you have a group of them popping out in front... how do you avoid them all. This was not a full speed crash... the car was driving slower already.

      Have you driven the outback roads ? What’s up with driving at night ? Also they are called bull/ roo bars for a reason

    • @bravohotel
      @bravohotel Рік тому +3

      @@scottishmudders8357 what's up driving with night? Um, the fact that most animals are most active then - increasing risk, dramatically. A "Roo Bar" will only minimise damage to your vehicle in light collisions. Wack a roo or bull at high speed and your chassis will be bent and you'll absorb the force of impact. Your aorta/brain etc just isn't designed to absorb those forces without rupture, and a crumple zone is ESSENTIAL to decrease force from the impact to your body. A bullbar is a damage multiplier in every respect.

    • @scottishmudders8357
      @scottishmudders8357 Рік тому +2

      Bull bars “ can “ give Distribution of force now take 30/60mph travelling and you hit a roo on the corner the point of the bar and I could be wrong here is in the weak zones is to distort but not break and in the strongest point usually middle is to flattened whatever it hits. I’ve hit deers doing 60/70 and never had so much as distortion on my bar however mines built to be as sound as possible and probably weighs the same as the queen Mary. Bull bars are a necessary evil in certain places but I agree outwith game keepers, wardens and farmers/ miners etc there’s no reason to be travelling at night or such like

      @@IIIPronGIII Australian speeds are slow. Kangaroos are slow. Change the culture of the vehicles. Let’s be agile and avoid collisions as a priority over adding structure to endure the collisions. Specifically, better brakes, tyres, and dynamics. My cars stop from 100kmh in 30m. They weigh 1.8-2.5t. That vehicle wasn’t travelling at 100kmh at the time. I have every idea what I’m talking about. Australians are unsophisticated uneducated and inexperienced.
