- Phantom of the Opera Broadway played its last two PUBLIC performances on Saturday April 15, 2023 with a 2pm matinee and 8pm evening show. This video is the 2pm matinee performance starring Ted Keegan (The Phantom), Julia Udine (Christine Daaé) and John Riddle (Raoul, Vicomte de Chagny). The video was taken from Front Mezz with nice views of the Orchestra and the gorgeous Exit Music. The Musical Director and Conductor was David Lai. Of note, Associate Musical Supervisor and Conductor Kristen Blodgette was present in the audience and can be seen at the lower left corner of video at/near the rail of the Orchestra during the Exit Music. Conductor Blodgette has been with Phantom production since 1988. Phantom of the Opera officially ended its magnificent 35 year run on Broadway with a Final performance for Invited guests only on Sunday April 16, 2023 (not this video). Hi-Pleasure was mine! What a fantastic performance we experienced, and the Front Mezz view was perfection!
I can literally see myself in this video, my spouse and I were in the front row on the bottom right of the screen. I’m the bald guy you can see every time the video pans back.
This was such a great performance of a great show. So very sad that it’s gone, but very glad we got to see it one last time before it closed, especially to see Julia Udine’s very emotional response at the end of Wishing You Were Somehow Here Again.

@BrigidNYC Thank you so much for putting this up! I was in the Front Mezzanine, Row E, and was heartbroken after I realized later that my phone didn't record the curtain call, but your video is better than what I could have gotten! This was my first and last time seeing the original Hal Prince production on Broadway, and I don't think I could have asked for a better cast to go out on. Ted, Julia, and John are probably my favorite trio after the original cast. Do you happen to have any other videos from this performance?
