I ran power in my new tundra, kept the factory head unit . Once my amp and subs were powered up I noticed the jbl deck/factory amp handicapped my signal going to my amp. Definitely going to swap out my head unit. 8” can definitely get nasty nice video 👍🏻
Jesse I think its just the way the radio does. Ice had a few gm (and aftermarket) radios that will keep the sound nice and thick until you get it past that one specific square or dot and the bass cuts out as a form of protection. It sucks.
My caddys are the same way, as the volume gets turned up the bass phases out. Another thing to disable is the auto volume crap if it has that option too.
Jesse BassFelon Adkins why do some people use plywood instead of mdf??? Which is better in yo opinion?? Im bout to build a box for 2 15 inch nemesis Audio hecktic series... going in my 91 fleetwood brougham!
The sound really does decrease when you turn it up so it won't sound distorted that's what the gm factory program into all their Audio systems and when you turn it down it gets clearer
SKATE1776 yep the ambiant microphone is always on so no matter what u have to disconnect it regardless what settings are turned off u forget gov motors so sadly dat mic is on regardless u have settings off
Sounds good and clear for a factory head unit can't wait to hear it👂if u decide to install a aftermarket head unit i would have never guessed that was 4 8's by the way what was the first song
I had the same problem when I hooked up a system in a 06" Chrysler Pacifica. You turn the volume almost all the way down and the subs kept right on pounding. So I got a aftermarket head unit and a bypass amplifier harness and that did the the job.
Does it have to do with the thing that makes your volume go up & down because of road noise? You know? When you stop there's no road noise so it gets quiet? There might be a setting to turn that off. I don't know the exact name of the control.
Quick fix would be add an aftermarket Eq that’s your cheapest option and will add to your output rca voltage most claim 7v or around there. American bass is what I have the digital meter for Voltage is nice. I had two sundown zv5 12s on a taramps md5k one ohm of course two 150ah batts big three and upgraded alt never dropped below 12.6-12.7 under heavy load metered 151.7 with stock head unit cuz it’s a new car it has everything and more then an after market deck so I kept it and retained sq and fixed that Blume issue your having by adding a aftermarket EQ 💯💪🏻
Some factory head units have a frequency change at max volume to protect the week ass factory speakers. I'm running my DC LVL4's off my head unit and doing damn good numbers.
Theres a factory ambiant microphone connected above driverside window area but not sure cuz don't know ur year u have but it adjusts sound levels based off ambiant noise which automatically adjusts volume just like when ur driving speed does but i always disconnect da mic so it doesnt do it anymore
Thats why ur bass increases when u turn it down tho.. aftermarket has bypasses with ther install kits but like i said I always disconnect it cuz I dont like my stereo to auto adjust
Yeah I had hundreds of dollars in my other Tahoe but sheet metal was a lot thicker shit seems like pop can aluminum on these newer shit I know it's for weight reduction and all but it's ridiculous hate to get into an accident.......
I think your problem is that damn radio volume adjustment for when you're driving at higher speeds of radio will continue to play at the volume you have it set at and I've had that problem happen with those Factory head units
Miguel Barajas it has 2 volume controls one based off speed via the tach input to head unit the second is the ambiant microphone so u can turn off speed one but the ambiant is linked to it and cant be shut off so I always just disconnect the mic to it usually above driverside window thers a lil inset in headliner w/lil louvers thats the mic that causes that itssuper easy to disconnect & worth the minute or 2 it takes to disconnect it
THE FACTORY HEAD UNIT TURN THE VOLUME UP WHEN ROAD NOISE IS LOUDER AND TURNS IT BACK DOWN WHEN YOU STOP. ALSO THE BOSE AMP WILL NOT LET IT TURN UP TO LOUD AS THEY DONT WANT TO GET SUED FOR HEARING LOSS.. JUNK THE BOSE AMP AND RUN THE OUTPUT STRAIT OUT OF HEAD UNIT
I had the factory in my Tahoe, without the Bose audio. I had a full system with stock unit. Had to change it due to m sing up. I think the bass messes it up. The cds wouldn’t spit out.
I had the same dustcap issue with my nvx 10s, I think it's the high excursion combined with how small the cones are, it puts too much force on the dustcap. Especially when you stick a finger in there, it's just enough force to knock it loose. Happened to me a few times lol.
Point your speakers up or to the back of the truck it will hit a lot harder that's just my opinion you do what you want with your sounds but that's the way to go but it do sound real good bro ☝
im a year late.. but its hitting hard enough sheeesh. definitely/maybe not on a budget build dealing with sundown lol sounds good!!! lyrics not safe for the kiddos tho :(
Wow!! Those eights really put out! Had 4 tens back in the day, ppi... That thing would be off the hook if tightend sounds pretty good for something loose... Maybe I'll go for 4 eights?... Thank's cool video
Man those 8"s are stroking. Like you said a bigger box with double panels for extra support and tuned lower would make a hella difference. The dang dash on that style Tahoe,Yukon is so shallow behind the radio that cramming all the wires and cables behind an aftermarket double din is a bitch.
make sure that your amp is a mono amp and that your low pass frequency is turned on and since it's a factory radio to ground the rca output convertor and it will fix the issue.
I have the same head unit in my 08 tahoe just with the other accessories for the tv and it has done the same just not as often, I’m running twin skar 12s
the Bose system has a network crossover in it that protect it from blowing the factory sub if u getting signal from the factory sub so the louder u turn it it will fade out an the lower u turn it down the louder it gets an if u run signal off the front or rear they are crossed over for highpass with little or on bass if u gonna keep the factory in try the Pac audio line converter with bass knob
I knew someone who had a avalanche & there was like a headphone jack switch or something behind the center console. Do you have one of those? I thought telling you this was a long shot but I thought I'd mention it. You'll probably just put a after market deck in eventually right?
Did you build the box to fit behind the 3rd row? It looks like it could maybe just barely fit firing up since the enclosure isn't that tall. I was thinking of building one firing up for two sundown 8's, but wasn't sure if it would sound like shit firing up instead of to the side or back.
Yeah it fits barely behind third row but I haven't tried it yet with the sundowns I personally like subs up port back in SUVs I've had best results that way but if you're trying to conserve space it still sounds good just nothing to fire off of really port loads better close to something
You need to use a digital signal processor like an lc2i from audiocontrol. Since you're using the factory head unit, I'm sure you used an LOC, high input to RCA. Analog LOC's don't prevent bass roll off. Switch to Audiocontrol LC2i, had the same problem with mine.
Gm actually has something built into their sound systems that makes it get louder with the rpms of the engine ... my fiances gmc Acadia does that ... and it is the cause ... hope I've helped ...
Add a dsp to fix that issue. That line converter is just going to put out what ever frequency that factory gives. A dsp will take over when that signal gets weak. Nice job tho
MOst Bose stereos do that its the point of best quality, some of them say it in the stereo, infact most factory head units are like that. Next time you get in someone car with a decent factory stereo turn it up slowly, and you will notice are 3/4s the way up the sound will taper off. for best results to prove this theory make sure the bass in the heas unit is around +3 or +4 to notice this happening. Disclaimer: this is to be done in a car with a decent quality sound system preferably one that is of Bose, Harmman Kardon, ect. ect.
I skipped through the video is that box ported? Man that's Sundown ain't no fucking joke too much power required for me though I'm good with my two JL tens LOL I know I'm not getting the production you are but it does me fine but good video bro nice ride nice setup
Silas Adams and on that poor kids car seat. It’s loose as fuck. I saw another video where he took it out to show some of his awesome audio wiring and it wasn’t installed properly then either. But what would you expect from the bass felon.
Also if you don't use a line out converter and you take rca cables and splice them into the speaker wires of your factory head unit then your subwoofers will sound extremely loud at higher volumes because I've seen people tap into the door speaker wires and they would wire their amps without a line out converter and their subwoofers were louder at higher volumes
little kid in the car seat went full tilt on that beat!!!
lil man in the back seat going ham lmmfao gotta love the kiddos
Just got Mcdonalds now their banging - classic 😂 😂 😂
I ran power in my new tundra, kept the factory head unit . Once my amp and subs were powered up I noticed the jbl deck/factory amp handicapped my signal going to my amp. Definitely going to swap out my head unit. 8” can definitely get nasty nice video 👍🏻
if yall wondering the first song is "the race" remix by slim jesus
What's the 2 song
It's the factory head unit nose usually comes with bass blockers so u don't blow your speakers so when u turn it up they turn your bass down
Jesse I think its just the way the radio does. Ice had a few gm (and aftermarket) radios that will keep the sound nice and thick until you get it past that one specific square or dot and the bass cuts out as a form of protection. It sucks.
I think you're right man doesn't sound bad just wired feels like I'm not getting the full potential out of the amps
Yep, you are correct. Sounds great just below half way then pulls low end after that. At low volume it is way to boomy.
My caddys are the same way, as the volume gets turned up the bass phases out. Another thing to disable is the auto volume crap if it has that option too.
Yup I gotta get rid of this factory shit
Jesse BassFelon Adkins why do some people use plywood instead of mdf??? Which is better in yo opinion?? Im bout to build a box for 2 15 inch nemesis Audio hecktic series... going in my 91 fleetwood brougham!
thumbs up for the kid at the end just gittin it boy!
Just let you guys know it's just the sub amps that are getting louder not the high amp
Jesse BassFelon Adkins just a typical Wednesday two out in the middle of the country banging in a Tahoe👏
Gonna need alot of spray foam and sound deadening to get them rattles out.
glad to see you back bassin
The sound really does decrease when you turn it up so it won't sound distorted that's what the gm factory program into all their Audio systems and when you turn it down it gets clearer
Great to have you back making new videos😀👍
Noise cancellation is your problem with the head unit
SKATE1776 yep the ambiant microphone is always on so no matter what u have to disconnect it regardless what settings are turned off u forget gov motors so sadly dat mic is on regardless u have settings off
Mike McCabe on my Honda Accord I disconnected the rear microphone and it fixed the problem.
SKATE1776 did you cut the wires?
Sounds good and clear for a factory head unit can't wait to hear it👂if u decide to install a aftermarket head unit i would have never guessed that was 4 8's by the way what was the first song
Slim Jesus the race. But I think tay k version is way better.
Boss King Lil fuckas gettin busy back there🎶🎶🎶
I had the same problem when I hooked up a system in a 06" Chrysler Pacifica. You turn the volume almost all the way down and the subs kept right on pounding. So I got a aftermarket head unit and a bypass amplifier harness and that did the the job.
Ain't nothing like that old Gucci Mane music
Does it have to do with the thing that makes your volume go up & down because of road noise? You know? When you stop there's no road noise so it gets quiet? There might be a setting to turn that off. I don't know the exact name of the control.
Nope I got that shut off
Noise compensation is the name of the feature on some radios.
Love Rockford sounds great thanks for sharing
I had to give a thumbs up just for the baby rockin in his child seat lol
Those are sum lil beasts! I want. Is the plywood for corner loading them? like being up against the trunk lid in a car
Mann if you don't give me that baby. I just love him vibing to the music.
Nice truck man!! your neighbors must love you lol
Quick fix would be add an aftermarket Eq that’s your cheapest option and will add to your output rca voltage most claim 7v or around there. American bass is what I have the digital meter for

It sounds amazing in the front seats which how you hear it is all you need
I have a fairly new radio like this you can have as long as you pay for shipping.
Whatever happened to the bass felon Jesse? I haven’t heard from him in years. If you’re out there please post a new video
The Bose and Harmon Kardon factory system do that. Mine does the same thing... I still have the factory amp running.
Need a shit ton of hush/dynamat. Got 2 X10s on a SCV 4000 in my Avalanche. It took 3 20-sheet cases of hushmat to get rid of all the body rattle.
Yeah I had hundreds of dollars in my other Tahoe but sheet metal was a lot thicker shit seems like pop can aluminum on these newer shit I know it's for weight reduction and all but it's ridiculous hate to get into an accident.......
Definitely get an aftermarket head unit will make a huge difference did in my 06 YukonXl
I think your problem is that damn radio volume adjustment for when you're driving at higher speeds of radio will continue to play at the volume you have it set at and I've had that problem happen with those Factory head units
Miguel Barajas it has 2 volume controls one based off speed via the tach input to head unit the second is the ambiant microphone so u can turn off speed one but the ambiant is linked to it and cant be shut off so I always just disconnect the mic to it usually above driverside window thers a lil inset in headliner w/lil louvers thats the mic that causes that itssuper easy to disconnect & worth the minute or 2 it takes to disconnect it
it the noise cancelling system on the factory dash you have to under hook it
THE FACTORY HEAD UNIT TURN THE VOLUME UP WHEN ROAD NOISE IS LOUDER AND TURNS IT BACK DOWN WHEN YOU STOP. ALSO THE BOSE AMP WILL NOT LET IT TURN UP TO LOUD AS THEY DONT WANT TO GET SUED FOR HEARING LOSS.. JUNK THE BOSE AMP AND RUN THE OUTPUT STRAIT OUT OF HEAD UNIT
Issues and all , still impressive . I have an 07 Suburban . You have what I'm considering.
Thanks man I appreciate it

im a year late.. but its hitting hard enough sheeesh. definitely/maybe not on a budget build dealing with sundown lol sounds good!!! lyrics not safe for the kiddos tho :(
I think pointing to the back n inverted is best but like you said just my opinion
Wow!! Those eights really put out! Had 4 tens back in the day, ppi... That thing would be off the hook if tightend sounds pretty good for something loose... Maybe I'll go for 4 eights?... Thank's cool video

make sure that your amp is a mono amp and that your low pass frequency is turned on and since it's a factory radio to ground the rca output convertor and it will fix the issue.
All gms do it the radio is pre amped and gets hot the higher volume you go after you turn it down you will notice more output of the low end
Your box needs to be updated for sure
I knew someone who had a avalanche & there was like a headphone jack switch or something behind the center console. Do you have one of those? I thought telling you this was a long shot but I thought I'd mention it. You'll probably just put a after market deck in eventually right?

Was about to comment the same thing, although a good aftermarket head unit is still noticeably better.
Is both the 1500 running the subs or one for something else
Is the frequency in the radio doesn't match up yes you have to get aftermarket
There's a biz because the line out converter is turned up to high
Gm actually has something built into their sound systems that makes it get louder with the rpms of the engine ... my fiances gmc Acadia does that ... and it is the cause ... hope I've helped ...
Sounds awesome, I'm looking to get mi a Yukon r Escalade to drop some pound in very soon
He bumpin slim Jesus 💯😭😭
Add a dsp to fix that issue. That line converter is just going to put out what ever frequency that factory gives. A dsp will take over when that signal gets weak. Nice job tho
In your white tahoe...how'd u hook up 2 stereos???
Yes you will need an aftermarket unit they are better than a factory units
Lil man is a future bass head lol haha 😂
Good song selection! Gucccccci..! 👏🏻
that's what my minivan sounds like
MOst Bose stereos do that its the point of best quality, some of them say it in the stereo, infact most factory head units are like that. You're little fella must be on a bass knob lol he was getting down when you turned it up.

Turn the line out converter down a little
Shit bumps bro that's right fuck yeah
I skipped through the video is that box ported? Man that's Sundown ain't no fucking joke too much power required for me though I'm good with my two JL tens LOL I know I'm not getting the production you are but it does me fine but good video bro nice ride nice setup
whats that first song i dig it
Is that a custom built box?
What? those peeps ate mickee d's and are bangin in the road?
Damn those 8s bang hard as hell love it.
How much did this setup cost
that's your problem factory with cheap converter... we use lc2i in all oem applications
GM radios get hot they tend to flat in out on out put.
Almost need to re tighten all bolts and screws on the whole vehicle after that. 😁
Silas Adams and on that poor kids car seat. It’s loose as fuck. I saw another video where he took it out to show some of his awesome audio wiring and it wasn’t installed properly then either. But what would you expect from the bass felon.
2:15 I looked at the ground 😂😂 subs are a beast tho
Get an lc2i I run it on a 2009 toyota matrix xrs with a single dlp mld 15 prototype, on a skar rp2000.1 and it sounds great
Haven't checked on you in a while what happened to the 18 s bro
Jarrett Johnson he sold them to pay all his court fees.
What's the name of the third song?
Iced up by Gucci
Where u been bro
Are these the x8 v3’s??

get the audio control crossover il fix that problem
That shit hitting with a stock stereo but it would sound better with an closed box air type is not the best to me but still sounds good
Wats that song called before Gucci mane
Justin Pearce slim j the race
2 would be sufficient for my lil Honda Fit hehehe I'm buying them.
You ever metered this setup?
Wats the name of the first song
Slim Jesus the race "remix"
Bump to Young Troubled Minds-( like pac) hits hard
Of course you're having problems with the factory head unit. It's a Chevrolet.
