Masahiro had a great strategy against Lachlan. If you noticed, all of Lachlans other opponents, except Masahiro, at some point chose a standing pass which Lachlan capitalized on. Masahiro chose to pass on his knees, an old school method which was difficult for Lachlan to initiate his attacks on.
He wouldn't engage, he just concentrated on stopping lachlan from getting into his leg lock positions. It's hard to get something going when the other person's mo is to just defend. He is on the receiving end of that when he is down on points and was trying to take lachlan down. Lachlan did the same back to him, be defensive and not engaging.
@@adamabbas1487 i think both are fair and i really thought the choi bar was gonna be the difference maker but Lachlan couldn't get that going either. it was definitely cool to see Lachlan have to play a more conventional guard
lachlan is the only guy that can be so threatening off his back playing open guard and in all of a sudden stand up and take you down with ease. That was high level wrestling, defense and offense by lachlan
There was a dude just playing with his phone on the front row seat whilst the finals match was happening. Why did he bother going to an adcc tournament to just play with his phone.
