That part where he says his performance was a love letter to his kids and also an apology always gets me. Chris Judge starred in a TV series that was filmed in Canada for many years. So, when it was time to go film the next season he would leave his wife and kids in LA and live in Canada to work for a few months. Because of that he missed a lot of time with them. That's the apology.

@@lizardman1303 It was a TV series. There's no guarantee on how long the series would last or how long a character would be on the show. They might kill off his character the next season, you don't know. Plus, when the show wasn't filming, he was probably trying to get work on other projects, so it would make sense to keep the family in California. You'd also have to worry about getting the kids into school, and Canadian citizenship or working visas. Not too easy to move from one country to the other.

That’s part of what makes kratos one of my favorite characters in gaming, his story arc, especially how if you play or watch the older games you can seen how he matures and learns that being the god of war doesn’t mean he has to be everyone’s enemy
A part of me wishes they kept the take where his voice broke and tears shed, even though it wouldn’t have made sense for Kratos-

I heard he was injured during the making of Ragnarok and the whole crew delayed the game just for his sake he even apologized on Twitter this man is so dedicated and I'm so touched that he wants to make all the fans proud. I voted for this man to win voice actor of the year even though I believe the whole cast did a phenomenal job the chemistry was incredible. This game is nothing without Christopher Judge what an amazing person. 😌😌✊👏👏

*SPOILERS AHEAD*
At the end after atreus leaves on his own and kratos saw on the mural that he was was going to be loved and seen savior and get a sort of redemption and he chokes back the tears, it really got me. Also the scene where he is with faye and she jokingly says he is afraid of baby atreus and he says "i am not afraid of our son faye.. i am afraid for him..." and you know he's remembering what happened to his previous wife and daughter, that got me in the feels.

I damn sure was hyped when i played that part.. But once i saw his reaction i did tear. Cause once he saw them blades, the look on his face. He is reliving those horrible moments all over again. A constant reminder of what he once was
I met him once at the japanexpo in paris. he was at his stand, talking to everyone, shaking hands smiling, very humble. one of my best memories because i'm a big fan of stargate. I'm an obese child of the 90s and he was my role model, I had started working out to look like him haha! I spoke to him with my approximate English telling him that I had started bodybuilding 2 years ago to become teal'c. he was just as moved as me and told me never to give up. it was in 2011. sorry for my English

Same… but more.. The first movie I have ever watched in my life was Stargate and he was my first and only celeb crush because of that movie and I never knew his name until my adulthood. I fell in love with gaming and never knew he was used as the voice of my many of my childhood games. He is still so youthful looking for his age and I am grateful for his body of work.
Grew up with Teal'c, glad to see he's found continued success with Kratos.

Wish game companies nowadays would get a clue. I dont get emotional through games but this franchise has made me feel so many emotional connections towards these characters. Bravo!

not many people understand that blades of chaos is symbol of hes oath to Ares, this blades were used to kill his wife and daughter.
Kratos hates those blades and buried them deep, and only reason he doing this because he loves his son

Christopher Judge is a MASTER at imbuing tiny lines with the meaning of thousands. That one “I know” in the clip. The singular “Boy!” in Ragnarök when Atreus runs away. He’s an incredible, iconic Kratos, one of the best vocal performances in games, but when you only give him a few syllables to work with he ascends to some of the greatest voice work in recorded history. What a talent.

The whole game made me emotional and I won’t lie. Once he put the blades back on I immediately thought about those combos I used to pull off in Challenge mode.

Judge is the absolute perfect person to play old Kratos, period. His attitude and way of going about it is absolutely perfect. Him saying it was a love letter to his kids is what sold it for me, as this fits perfectly with the development of Kratos’ character

Kratos have been through a lot. He was used by the gods of Olympus, never can return to his homeland, and is forever plagued by the nightmares of his guilt. Christopher Judge fits perfectly for this role as the tormented god of war.
