    Maybe I'll later add some videos about "outstanding" technology and engineering of this Chinese wonder.

    Please tell me. Where to buy windshield (windscreen)? Or do it with your own hands? Where can I read about ZTR? Is THERE a forum for ZTR fans? You can link to? I also bought a ZTE. Want to do tuning.

      Sorry. I have no idea where to find windscreen. There is German ZTR user forum: www.ztrforum.de/
      I have no idea how helpful it is for non-german speakers, though. I've got some ideas from there using Google translate, so it's valuable resource anyway.

    • @TheUglyGnome
      @TheUglyGnome  2 роки тому +2

      In sharp ones it's easy to scrape the frame. Gentle ones are ok.
      There are who strategies for speed bumps:
      1. Slow down ... and I mean SLOW down.
      2. If possible, only run one front wheel over the bump.

      Indeed. I love driving my trike and it would be great if I could use it all the year around as my daily transportation. But driving this deathtrap in the snow may be the fastest known way to commit a suicide. And even at temperatures below 10°C/50°F it's not fun anymore. Life sucks ... at least here in The Arctics.

      No. I'm in Finland (EU). They are street legal in every EU country. I don't know about USA. They probably are, because there used to be an importer in Texas, if I recall correctly. But it may be that there's same problem in The US as in EU: current emission and/or safety regulations don't allow import new ones anymore.

    How much does it cost? Where can I get one?

    • @TheUglyGnome
      @TheUglyGnome  6 років тому

      Those are difficult questions when it comes to ZTR trike. It highly depends on where you live. If there's importer in your country, contact them. There are of course dealers in Alibaba from who you can get one for low as US$ 2 000 (+ shipping + taxes + import duties, etc) if you order in bulk. For buying only one piece lowest prices looks to be around US$ 3 000.
      But once again, depending on country where you live in, it may be difficult/expensive to register one as road-legal.

      @@charles910
      Sorry. Didn't buy directly from China. I bought second-hand from someone who imported from China to Finland (EU).
      I highly recommend you to check your state laws before ordering one. I know nothing about Florida (or US federal) laws about street-legality of vehicles, but I highly doubt you can just drive anything with wheels on public roads. In most countries you must certify the vehicle model as street legal.
      After quick search I found at least one dealer in The US for ZTR trikes:

    How tall are you? Will someone at 6 feet, 185cm tall fit?

    • @TheUglyGnome
      @TheUglyGnome  4 роки тому +1

      I'm really short guy. Around 167cm. But when I bought the trike I had to move the seat forward by 10cm in order to access the pedals. They are still a bit far away, but moving seat even more could be a structural challenge.
      So I'm quite sure someone at 185 would fit. It may start to be uncomfortable for even longer guys. But hey. Comfort is not what this thing is made for. Quite opposite.

    What's the top speed on your reverse trike ?? Is it any good for over taking and keeping up on the motorway ??

    • @TheUglyGnome
      @TheUglyGnome  6 років тому +6

      Manufacturer claims the top speed to be 120 km/h. I have not yet exceeded 85 km/h, since I've not driven it on any road with speed limit more than 80.
      When it comes to overtaking and motorway speeds, you have to remember: it has 250cc Chinese engine (copy of Honda engine with shitty carburetor). That's not too much power. And even if you tuned (or replaced) the engine, front suspension is based on cheap Chinese ATV. Not something you'd like to have when driving 200+ km/h on autobahn with your bottom 10 cm above the road surface.

    • @Elektroreisen
      @Elektroreisen 6 років тому

      darrin goodbrand if everything ist fine, you can drive at 120kmh without problems. The biggest problem with these is the standard cooling system. You'll need to upgrade that. It works but it's fragile and tends to have air in it.

    • @TheUglyGnome
      @TheUglyGnome  6 років тому +4

      Where to buy and price depends highly where you live in. In some countries there are importers, in most there are not. You can always order one from manufacturer (or some shady alibaba dealer) in China as a kit (for something like $2500 + shipping + your country's import duties and taxes), but then you may (or may not, depending on the country you live in) need to certify it as street legal in your country, which might be bloody expensive operation.

      A company which started to import it into EU certified it (probably just sent all paperwork showing it meets the standards to road safety authority) in Luxembourg. After this the factory in China attached a sign with certification number to every frame sold to EU showing it's approved for road use in EU.
      Because the main hassle was already done, in order to register an imported trike you only needed to visit certified vehicle inspector who performed "import inspection" (don't know about the details, what he inspected after all).I have no idea, if this certification is still valid or not, so if you plan to import one to EU, you need to check it yourself. I've heard rumors about because of ZTR having no ABS brakes and not meeting new emission standards, you cannot import it anymore. Anyway, the type certification number is E13*2002/24*0748*00. If you are planning to import in non-EU country, I can't help you. I have no faintest idea about your country's regulations.

      There is or at least has been companies who have imported ZTR into The States. So it's quite possible it's street legal there. But as I said. There's no way I can know anything about your country's (or state's) regulations.
      One company that used to import it (but doesn't seem to do it anymore) can be found at www.powerdirtbikes.com/ Maybe you could ask them about the status of ZTR's street legality.

    paljo tollasen vakuutus maksaa?

    • @TheUglyGnome
      @TheUglyGnome  6 років тому

      Riippuu vakuutusyhtiöstä. Jotkut vakuuttaa sen prätkänä. Toiset mönkijänä. Joka tapuksessa kallis ottaen huomioon, ettei ole mikään revittelypeli. Luultavasti siksi, että on niin harvinainen, ettei ole onnettomuustilastoja.
      Mulla taitaa olla ympärivuotinen liikennevakuutus siinä 600€:n luokkaa ilman bonuksia. Siitä sitten vähennetään bonukset ja talven seisonta-aika. Jotkut vakuutusyhtiöt yritti riistää jotain n. 1000€:n vuosimaksua.
