Its allowed for muslim men to marry a christian or jewish woman because automatically the children become muslim. Thats why muslim women are not allowed to marry a man with an other religion. Islam is about expansion
"A Muslim guy could marry a Christian woman." This was exactly what my Muslim colleague told me last year when I asked him. When I asked "why?" He told me that a Christian woman might convert to Islam under the influence of her husband, but the opposite might not work.
Its not only this there are also some other reasons for example: 1.we muslim women have some Islamic marriage rights that a muslim husband would have to give us, if the husband is non muslim he will not follower islam and will not give the women her islamic rights. 2. According to islam the islamic lineage of the Childern comes from the father, so the father has to be muslim. 3. Jews only believe till moses a.s but not in Jesus a.s or Muhammad sws or the laws they came with, christans only believe till jesus a.s but reject Muhammad sws and the laws he came with but we muslims believe in all this prophets and the ORIGINAL laws they came with, because of this a non muslim men that is physical stronger then women, could force hes muslim wife to do things that gos against islamic rulings. The trinity was later put in the bible by the council of nicia to convert more pagan europans *easier* into Christianity. Jesus a.s( like all other prophets before him) was sent by god to teach the people about how to worship god alone the right way. This is why you find that Jesus a.s prayed to god, if he was god why would he pray to himself?! Some of you christans claim god came down to became flesh and give you salvation, something like this is not god! God is so powerful that he doesn't need to "come down" to become hes own creation to "save" them, god can stay the same as he is and commend whatever he pleases. Also we muslims dont believe in the original sin of adam and eve, yes BOTH eat from the tree but after they have done this adam just made tawba to allah ( and asked for forgiveness) and allah just forgive him. So we dont believe that everyone is born with the original sin so this means we also dont believe that god had to send someone to "save" us in first place.
@@mari_000, does Islam teach that it's Muslim only who can choose? Jesus said, "I and my Father are one." So, the Church didn't create create or add anything to the Bible. Jesus being truly man and God had many reasons to pray to his Father. He forgave sins, which no humans could do, but he also suffered under Pontius Pilate like any human would've suffered. All that he did to fulfill God's plan for salvation. We all sin because our first parents sinned. It doesn't exist in the sacred scriptures where Adam repented and God forgave him. So, that's Islam's creation. I don't understand, how do Muslims believe that Jesus is a great prophet, but don't accept his teachings? For among his teachings are: I'm the Way, the Truth and the Life; anyone who sees me also sees the Father; what I told you are not my own but Father's et cetera. John the Baptist said about Jesus, "behold the lamb of God who takes away the sins of the world." Jews, who Jesus taught weren't polytheists so what do you mean by "god alone"?

Unfortunately, the mainstream Islamic thoughts contradict Quran teachings regarding marriage between Muslims and people of scripture: 1-Quran forbids believer (men and women) to marry from the polytheists, and people of scriptures are not considered polytheists from Quran perspective. 2- Quran allows muslims (Male and female) to marry from people of scripture and vice versa, Majority of contemporary muslims think that the men from people of scripture are not allowed to marry Muslim women because the verse 5:5 which regulars the marriage between muslims and people of scripture mentions the first scenario where male Muslim can marry to femal from people of scripture and dose not mention the opposite scenario, but if we refer to all other verses in Quran which talk about marriage rules among muslims we will see that all of these verses mention only the first scenario because second scenario is applicable implicitly and the same rule is applicable for verse 5:5 which regulars the marriage between Muslims and people of scriptures. 3-Quran confirms that Monotheism is the only right doctrine and confirms that each holy book has its own rules and Quran call each religion followers to obey to their rules and teachings as mentioned in their books and never calls people of scriptures to convert to Islam and obey to Quran rules and teachings which is called "Shari'a" in Quran. Verse 5:5: "This day [all] good foods have been made lawful, and the food of those who were given the Scripture is lawful for you and your food is lawful for them. And [lawful in marriage are] chaste women from among the believers and chaste women from among those who were given the Scripture before you, when you have given them their due compensation, desiring chastity, not unlawful sexual intercourse or taking [secret] lovers. And whoever denies the faith - his work has become worthless, and he, in the Hereafter, will be among the losers.(5:5)" Moreover, the above verse 5:5 allows people of scriptures to eat Muslim food, and as known, muslims allowed to eat fat and other types of food except dead and meat of Pork, so Quran has removed all restrictions that came in Torah regarding food and allow Jew and Christians to eat all types of food except those which are forbidden in Quran.

It’s interesting that the Quran permits Muslim men to marry Christian and Jewish women but forbids Muslim women from marrying anyone else other than a Muslim. I would argue that the woman has far more influence over the religion of her children than the man does especially in conservative Arab societies where the man works and the woman stays home. If a Muslim man marrries a zealous Christian woman then the odds of their children remaining Muslim are quite low as the woman will constantly advise her children that they must respect Islam but that Christianity is the only true religion. On the other hand if a Christian man marries a Muslim woman and they have children…while the man is working his 40+ hours a week the muslim wife will be reading the Quran and helping her children pray in Arabic. The children will most likely grow up to be Muslims. As a secular person, I simply see it as male bias in that the male doesn’t want to be restricted in his choices of female partners. Muhammad had a Coptic Christian concubine named Maria and a Jewish wife named Safiyya. Both were known for their beauty. It is strongly insinuated in the Quran and the Sunnah that Muhammad was just like any other man when he sees a beautiful woman he wants. Allowing Muslim men to marry women of other faiths but not letting Muslim women marry men of other faiths seems disingenuous in a religion. It’s men saying “hey we can have what we want but you can’t.” Prohibiting intermarriage in both genders or allowing intermarriage in both is a more sincere approach. But hey it’s just my opinion. I’m not a believer of any religion. But I had a Muslim girlfriend who begged me to pretend to be Muslim just so that her parents would let us get married. As you can tell she was not very strict in her religion. Even if I had wanted to marry her I would never pretend to be religious under any circumstances.
I don’t see an issue with it... there is wisdom behind it clearly . Considering all three Abrahamic religions the man is head of household. He has major influence over his wife.... I mean a practicing Muslim woman marrying someone outside of Islam could leave Islam for obvious reasons or her imaan be severely effected in a negative way ...we consider Islam to be the truth and only want to take part in something that strengthens our imaan, so why would we set ourselves up for failure? Lol

1.we muslim women have some Islamic marriage rights that a muslim husband would have to give us, if the husband is non muslim he will not follower islam and will not give the women her islamic rights.

The trinity was later put in the bible by the council of nicia to convert more pagan europans *easier* into Christianity.
It seems to be a bad thing if you're not "open" enough to marry another religion. We can be friends, best friends, whatever but I think when it comes to marriage it's different because it's another level of intimacy and inter-connectedness. What I am talking about is general way of living, raising children, culture, customs etc. Anyway, no need to force people into a level of "openness" that they are not comfortable going into. No conflict to living peaceafully and harmonically with your neighbours of other religions, cultures and races whatsoever.
Christians are also held to the standard, which nobody seems to be mentioning. While they don't practice it, it clearly says in the new testament, a Christian should not marry an unbeliever, though if you are already married and convert, you're not supposed to abandon them if they don't also convert.
Yes completely as a Christian I would never marry a Muslim and I take no offence if a Muslim is not at all interested in me. My worldview and religion is too important to me to compromise.

When the men say, "there is no need for her to convert" the follow-up question should be, "do the children have to be raised as Muslim?"
@El Malakh Feo it's actually pretty daft regardless there is no need to raise anyone on any particular religion we do it for cultural reasons, though at the same time it's perfectly permissible under Islam for a Muslim to go learn other religions, that's not "forbidden" neither though it's funny that a double standard exists between Men and Women but this is the same and true for Judaism also.
It's the mother's religion that matters to Hebrews though. In Judaism you can be an atheist, but if your mother is Jewish, they still consider you a Jew.
@El Malakh Feo Muslims and Jews love pretending it's "race" or "ethnicity" so that no one can ever question their motives or behavior. In reality, it's purely a faith based religion-- a collection of ideas that just happen to be tied to a region. These particular religions are just so desperate for increasing their respective memberships, that they cannot tolerate anyone deciding the merits of the system with an open mind, and thus push hard for early indoctrination.

from devoted Muslims, I have encountered online explained, Muslim male, permitted to marry a woman from the non-Muslim community as opposed to female Muslim, must take only a Muslim male. however, in regard children are must be raised accordingly to father's religion (islam)
Unfortunately, the mainstream Islamic thoughts contradict Quran teachings regarding marriage between Muslims and people of scripture:
1-Quran forbids believer (men and women) to marry from the polytheists, and people of scriptures are not considered polytheists from Quran perspective.
Verse 5:5:
"This day [all] good foods have been made lawful, and the food of those who were given the Scripture is lawful for you and your food is lawful for them. And [lawful in marriage are] chaste women from among the believers and chaste women from among those who were given the Scripture before you, when you have given them their due compensation, desiring chastity, not unlawful sexual intercourse or taking [secret] lovers. And whoever denies the faith - his work has become worthless, and he, in the Hereafter, will be among the losers.(5:5)"
Moreover, the above verse 5:5 allows people of scriptures to eat Muslim food, and as known, muslims allowed to eat fat and other types of food except dead and meat of Pork, so Quran has removed all restrictions that came in Torah regarding food and allow Jew and Christians to eat all types of food except those which are forbidden in Quran.

In islam the guys can marry from three religions. Whereas a girl can only marry a Muslim. Rest in peace equality for all genders lol.
Lol

no, its litterally men can marry people outside of islam only from the people of the book (christian and jews), but women cant marry people of the book only the muslim because we want to protect our women, because a muslim can respect other faith because they can relate with people of the book teachings, but not vice versa they dont believe in islam teachings or prophet Muhammad pbuh, and islam doesnt promote EQUALITY BUT EQUITY, but in the end thats their life and choice.

It seems there's a big misconception among the Muslim community, they are told by scholars that they cannot marry a non Muslim, this is not true. I've read the verses in the Qur'an, it says Muslims (men and women) cannot marry polytheists (which means worshipping multiple Gods). Christians and Jews are not polytheists.
The one rule that must be followed in a Muslim/non Muslim marriage is any children must be brought up as Muslims.

If you reject all religious obligations-which are there to help keep us tied to God through the community of faith and the universe then what besides your personal commitment at any given moment would make you accept personal obligations? Islam and Christianity and Judaism teach mercy and forgiveness and the rules are not to oppress us but to keep us together and focused on God and in right relationship with the created world, not just when we feel like it but for life. I am surre you are a good person but western society (and I'm an American) seems obsessed wit h a definition of freedom that is all about self and commitments to the greater community and universe seem t only be important insomuch as they compliment the individual. Maybe thats why we continue to be more divided everyday as we "free" ourselves from obligations. Isn't our fullest humanity expressed through our connection to others and especially to God who made us first? That might bbe easy for you without guideposts and traditions but most humans need some spiritual tradition and accompanying obligations to point towards deeper meaning and to curb our inclination toward total egocentricity.
