    I am going back and forth between this boat and a Tracker Targa V-18. The Tracker is a bigger boat, 102 " beam and I can put a 200 Pro XS on it. The Crestliner is sleek, looks badass and not cheaply made.

      Both good options Mike! There have been a few times based on how we use our boat that I wish we could have a bit bigger motor. But even now, five years later we couldn’t be more pleased with this boat. Good luck!

      I'm struggling between the 1750 and 1850. It looks like the extra space in the cabin area makes a big diff. There's zero knee room in the jump seats on the 1750, making the second row almost useless. The 3rd seat costs an extra 330 bux, only to lay it down on the floor while in transit, and potentially not use it at all.

    • @DungeeFishing
      @DungeeFishing  7 років тому

      Again you're right, we don't use the second row of captains chairs. We just sit on the bench in the down position most of the time. But again, we value deck/casting area over cockpit area. When we do troll we put the bench up and use those giving us much more cockpit area. To me the only reason to get a 1850 over 1750 is the engine capacity. If you're wanting and needing the 150 motor then it becomes a no brainer.

    Great review. One of the only ones I found. I'm weighing the FishHwak against the SuperHawk and would appreciate your comments. Seems to me, the F/H's storage bins on the side would make a good place to rest your knee while netting whereas the S/H has wider gunnels, recessed storage areas in the walls and a wider cockpit. Do you have any thoughts on this?

    • @DungeeFishing
      @DungeeFishing  7 років тому

      You hit it right on the head, we don't troll that often so the cockpit room isn't as important to us as the overall deck space we get with the folding bench. The rod locker and where we place our cooler in the middle of the seats almost makes it a 360 degree area. There is plenty of storage in both boats, in fact I've seen people say that there is more in the FH's. If you troll more and use the cockpit area more than the SH is the way to go, especially on an 1850. To get the extra foot on the 1850 they essentially push the windshield forward taking away a bit from the deck. If you value deck space then get either model with the folding bench.

    • @rosco33ful
      @rosco33ful 7 років тому +1

      Dungee Fishing Thanks a lot. I've been digging into the details, brought my measuring tape down to the dealership last week and felt out the options. Turns out, the bow decks on both sizes are actually the same, the windshield stays put and the extra foot is in the cockpit. But yes, they immediately recommend the 150 for getting the extra 200 pounds out of the hole, especially if you expect to do any other watersports with it, so upgrading is an 8 grand touch. Tough decision. Thanks again. Safe boating!

    • @DungeeFishing
      @DungeeFishing  7 років тому

      Yes! That's what I was thinking but typed it differently. My final advice would be to get the boat for your needs, buy for it reasons you want and need. Boat shopping is the best and worst thing ever ha. Good luck.

    Great Video! I am curious, are you able to trim the motor all the way down when the boat is on the trailer without the skeg hitting the ground? Thanks!

    • @DungeeFishing
      @DungeeFishing  7 років тому

      Just depends on the slope you're on, just parked in my driveway id say I can trim it down probably 95% of the way, have to jack the boat down so the boat is leaning forward to do it all the way. While trailered it just depends, some slopes i have been able to and some not if that makes sense, probably just depends on how forward or back the boat leans on what you are towing it with...

    Great video thanks. It helped me decide to pick up the same boat last month. Are you running the prop that came with it and have you tried any different pitches or anything? I have the 19 pitch Black Max that came with it and generally being at lakes that are 3000' to 5000' elevation I'm thinking I might try a different pitch and possibly go with a steel prop. If you have had any experience changing them out I'd appreciate hearing what your experiences have been. Thanks.

    • @DungeeFishing
      @DungeeFishing  7 років тому

      Thanks David! We received the same prop with ours, we now run a 16 pitch mercury vengous. (spelling?) When we go to Powell which is in that elevation you'll be running and we love it. We also just recently picked up the four blade mercury spitfire in the 15 pitch for the higher elevation lakes we have in utah 6k plus elevation.

    • @smokingbore4417
      @smokingbore4417 7 років тому +1

      Dungee Fishing thank you for the reply. What kind of performance gains are you seeing with that prop and pitch at lake Powell? Why did you go with the 16 pitch? When I use Mercury prop selector it is telling me to go with a 21 pitch. Thanks for the help.

    • @DungeeFishing
      @DungeeFishing  7 років тому

      The 16 pitch at Powell gives us a good hull shot, and good top end on the 115 four stroke. That 19 at Powell was slow out of the hull but still gave us good top end and gas mileage. When we initially took the boat to a lake it was over 7k feet and the 19 barely got us up on plane, Id go with a 16 pitch at the elevation you are talking about.

    I purchased a 2017 New #Crestliner# Vt18 DXT from H&W Marine in Bossier City, Louisiana on Feb. 17, 2017 and it turned out to be the Worst Performing Boat I have ever owned in 50 years of boats...
    I took the boat out on Friday and began breaking in boat... During 1st week of break-in I began contacting dealer about handling problems... @ 25 mph the boat bounces up/down which gets worst with increasing speeds and no matter how much I trim motor it does not stop... at 30 mph the boat starts to launch side/side in addition to bouncing problem.
    I started contacting Dealership within 6 days of purchase... In the beginning I was told I just needed to get use to my new boats difference and my 2012 16' Express... I was told that I had to learn how my bigger boat handled.
    I brought the boat back on Thursday 2/23/17 and told service tech that they needed to test ride my boat.
    I have contacted H&W Marine Dealership 30+ times and Customer Service 10+ times to No Resolution.
    I have asked for My Money Back... a New Boat... Trade My Boat For Different Boat...
    2 Dealership Techs and Customer Service Rep. Vince Shimanski after test driving my boat... Acknowledge That There Is A Problem With My Boat.. That A Mistake Was Made At The Factory...
    #Crestliner Boats# has agreed to Replace my Hull But ONLY IF I SIGN A NONDISCLOSURE AGREEMENT... NOT TO TALK ABOUT PROBLEMS WITH MY BOAT...
    3- boats all came through the H&W Marine Dealership with the same MISTAKES as per Manager Mark Glen of the Bossier Store Location and he stated he knew of at least 2 more for a total of 5-boats that have same MISTAKE in HULL...
    Manager Mark Glen Continues to Assure me That I Can Continue To Use My Boat At SLOW SPEEDS & WITH MOTOR TRIMMED ALL THE WAY DOWN... I should have kept my 16' Express at least I could run it wide open...
    My boat has been Sitting in Driveway Collecting Dust Since the End of February... Because it is EXTEMELY UNSAFE... VERRRY HARD TO CONTROL AND IT SCARES ME TO GO OUT IN IT EVEN AT SLOW SPEEDS...
    During my last outing in boat at approx. 29 mph with motor trimmed all way down... I crossed Wake of Passing Boat and my #Crestliner# Boat Pitched Sideways Almost Throwing Me to Floor... Had I NOT been Holding Onto Steering Wheel.
    I will Never Recommend Dealership or Crestliner Boats to anyone looking to buy new boat because Dealership has done nothing to solve problem... I Paid In Full for boat when I picked it up and I Did Not Have to Sign Nondisclosure Agreement When I Bought The Boat... Why Should I Have to Sign Nondisclosure to Warranty Hull... When Hull Has A Lifetime Warranty???
