I agree! Solving issues by working together should have been the go to. Putting it through the court system does not bode well. I suspect (no evidence for it) that the group the attorney is with supports reduction through euthanasia. I'm not a proponent of that - it's been proven to be ineffective. I just don't get how folks cannot see the solutions right under their noses. TNR, education, foster homes under permits, supported and permitted colony caregivers, and sanctuaries would go a long way toward fixing it I believe. But instead, let's just fight in court?!
I'm not sure that they're trying to make sense of anything. I think it's partly a PR thing to be honest. There are solutions, but they don't really seem to be seeing/trying to solve anything. Just finger pointing and pot stirring. In the end, it's always the cats that pay the price :/
I'm so glad to see you here! You are so right. They do get a ton of funding. I just don't get why (on my local level anyway) it seems it is not allocated well. They are consistently full here, meaning cats aren't getting help. Our rescues are consistently over-run because Humane Society here won't intake. This trickles down to folks like me. Then I am overwhelmed with friendlies that I can't place. Is it similar there?
@LilahsLoveLLC people don't want to spend money or the time to take a cat to TNR.....there is a place in Phoenix that has a 60.00 flat fee and that includes male or female or even pregnant cats...60.00 total....there was a University who use to do for free for students.
Ya that's not even possible. Theres no room. The expense . Yes they need caretakers but also what about the feral cats they can't all be socialized. The lawsuit was definitely unnecessary the humane society is doing what they can ? As far as we know.Yes they definitely need to all get together and come up with more solutions 😮 i agree we do need change
Dangerous precedent

who do they expect to control the rodent population without TNR?
