Sharon has a much more special voice. So soft and feminine. Anneke is just as good or better technically but the color of her voice is similar to most female singers.

High time you be getting on a The Gathering journey, the band fronted by Anneke who inspired so many musicians and vocalists to follow, a.o.: Within Temptation (yes indeed), Lacuna Coil, Evanescence, Devin Townsend and Nightwish's Tuomas and Floor. So sad to realise that so many even within The Netherlands don't even know many of the numerous masterpieces produced by TG and Anneke. Start with checking out 'Travel', 'Waking Hour' or 'on Most Surfaces' from their 25th anniversary concert in 2014. Then dig into their concert DVD's like 'in Motion', 'A Sound Relief' and 'A Noise Severe'. TG was and is a unique pioneering melodic metal / prog rock band. And Anneke has the most beautiful and unique voice of them all ... tbh. Enjoy!

Hello, "you're soooooo right" .. But, I think you forgot one of the most beautiful song of TG : Like Fountains - A song relief - live in Paradiso
To be fair, The Gathering produced at lot of great songs mentioned as favourites by those who actually know their discography. I can fill a top 50 with tracks I favoured at some point in time. And some prefer their doomy atmospheric metal from Mandylion while others prefer their more trip rocky, shoegazing vibes of the latest albums.
And then there's Anneke's discography as well, spanning three decades and numerous magical tracks with many great musicians. Devin Townsend, Danny Cavanagh, Lorrainville, Ayreon, Arstidir, Amorphis, Gentle Storm, VuuR, and her numerous solo projects, a.o. her lovely latest solo album. Much of TG's and Anneke's repertoire is hardly known to way too many of their fellow Dutchmen.

Sharon is in "Liefde voor muziek" which is the Belgium version of "Beste zangers" and she has some great songs on there but also other versions of Within Temptation songs done by other artists that you should really check out. Within Temptation song I love (and I love them all so it is a little difficult) right now is "Raise your banner". Thank you for your reaction, love your videos!!
