    Hi HappyBird. In my UA-cam Library I have saved videos that I like. For example I have "crafts" "butterflies" "paper crafts", etc. but I had to make a whole separate file in my Library for "HappyBird" because you have so many many many beautiful posts that teach us such beautiful artwork! Thank you!

    Hello HappyBird and thank you for this wonderful, excellent, helpful, detailed tutorial! I've already made two pendants and a pair of earrings. I'm totally hooked and they are beautiful! I have a quick question. Do you add a top layer of clear mod podge or varnish or leave as is? I'm wondering if the mounded glitter needs to have any protection or will it be ok since we used the mod podge in the first place? Thanks again and keep creating! :-)

    I think your pendants came out so pretty. I've been trying your technique, but for some reason mine are not coming out looking like yours. I keep adding more glitter, and grit, but when they dry, they are smooth and flat. No texture at all. On one I made, after it was all dry, I did try adding more. It helped a little, but I was hoping for more texture.

    • @HappyBirdsGlitterNest
      @HappyBirdsGlitterNest  8 років тому

      Jackie, you have to put more glitter/grit than you have resin or it won't turn out right. It just takes practice! :o)

    • @nicd2701
      @nicd2701 8 років тому

      Hi Thelmarrie...the epsom salts were mixed in either Diamond glaze or the mod podge magic ( I've used both) so in effect it's sealed, I've never thought about it getting wet but I guess keep it out the way of boiling hot water and all should be well :-)

    I love using buttons, but on back so it doesn't show the holes from button, I am thinking I would use goop glue to seal holes up then use the liquid gold or silver and paint on back before adding the final piece to hold chain.

    This is great! I was thinking, though: instead of the end of the table (I'd get too worried) I would set them on one of those thick cardboard tags you sometimes get on new clothes (I seem to get a lot of those at Kohl's, I save them, thinking I could use them somehow, and this seems like the time to use those.)

I've been waiting for a reply to a question and I hope somebody can tell me because I want to place my order with German Glass Glitter. What size glitter do we get for all your pretty designs? Med, ultra-fine, or some are in numbers like 70 grit, 80 grit, 40 grit. What should I get?

  • @kathylambert1869

THERE REALLY IS A HUGE DIFFERENCE FROM THE "ULTRA FINE" GLITTER AND THE REGULAR (WHICH I TRIED BECAUSE I THOUGHT IT WAS FINE). i JUST FINISHED THE PROJECT AND OF COURSE IT IS STILL WET, BUT SURELY CAN SEE HOW BEAUTIFUL THE "ULTRA FINE" CHARM WILL BE. Hi! I can't wait to try this! Thank you for posting! I'm looking to make my own bezels, out of wire, so the back would be open. I saw on a blog that you can make, say a circle out of wire, and use the dimensional magic on a piece of packaging tape, within your wire shape, and it'll peel off when it dries. She just used some glitter, but do you suspect that this would work with the faux druzy? Have you tried using this outside of a bezel?

    • @HappyBirdsGlitterNest
      @HappyBirdsGlitterNest  10 років тому +1

      Amanda Steele Sweetie, I've never tried using the material outside of a bezel. I would think if you did use the wire, you would have to make sure the wire would be thick enough so the material on the inside would have something to hold it in while drying. Let me know if you tried it and how it worked! :o)

    • @amandasteele1140
      @amandasteele1140 10 років тому +1

      OneVeryHappyBird Thank you! I did try it! I made a round shape with multiple layers of wire, and put it on a piece of masking tape. Once it dried, it did come off the masking tape, no problem, but the wire didn't stop the material from oozing out a bit. Also - I made one in a brass bezel, and it discolored the material. Not sure what happened there, but just a little tidbit.

      +Annette Weadock I know. I'm sorry about that! :o( I have never tried doing this in a silicone mold before, but it would be interesting to see how it turns out. :o) Thank you so much for watching my videos!

    These are so beautiful Where did you get the bezels?

    Ii want alllll of those bezels for this project and modge podge projects.

  • @nathaliejones2843

    wouldn't a better way to make this would be to mix the glue and glitter mixture in a separate cup until your happy, and then put it in the bezel, wait until it cures, and then add resin on the top to smooth it out? is there a specific reason you did it the way you did?

    • @HappyBirdsGlitterNest
      @HappyBirdsGlitterNest  9 років тому

      +nathalie jones Hi Nathalie, Yes, I did it that way because I didn't want to not make enough or make too much. It gave me an idea of how much I would need when I mixed it in the bezel. However, you can do it any way you feel comfortable doing it. Thanks for watching! :o)

    that was a wonderful how to video. thanks for sharing. question: does the mod podge shrink and seal the glitter from coming loose and getting on everything or can you recommend a clear sealer that one could use to prevent that from happening. . .

    • @HappyBirdsGlitterNest
      @HappyBirdsGlitterNest  8 років тому

      Hi Kelly! Yes, the Mod Podge does shrink and seal the glitter from coming loose. If you choose to use a sealer, I would recommend Mod Podge Super Gloss (with the blue label) to seal. Thank you so much for watching!

    someone told me you cannot use the Mod Podge because it is water soluble if it gets damp and anyway it will fall apart is that true

    • @HappyBirdsGlitterNest
      @HappyBirdsGlitterNest  8 років тому

      +Coleen Taylor That has not been my personal experience, however, you can use any resin you would like, such as Diamond Glaze or Ranger's Glossy Accents.

    Do you think I could get away with the regular modge podge?

    • @HappyBirdsGlitterNest
      @HappyBirdsGlitterNest  10 років тому +1

      No Sweetie. The Mod Podge Dimensional Magic is a clear resin. :o) Thanks for watching!

    Can we use glue instead of mod podge?

    • @HappyBirdsGlitterNest
      @HappyBirdsGlitterNest  9 років тому

      sal ali No, because Mod Podge Dimensional Magic is a resin. Regular Mod Podge is a white glue and white glue won't work.Thanks for watching my videos! :o)
