I'm a college kid and have seen a bunch of ghibli movies, but i just finished Kiki's for the first time. It was kinda nice being able to relate to a character the way i could with kiki. being thrown into a new environment, feeling like you have stuff figured our only for it to go south. Even when she lost her magic, it kind of feels like how me and a lot of the people around me are questioning what we want wtih our lives. Are we putting our energy towards the right things. but that's when the scene at Ursala's really hit home. Sadly, like you said, it's not always possible for us to just take a break. I feel like I've got Jiji on my shoulder saying to go home, while also feeling like if I do I'm a failure.
Am i pretty certain i watched this while wrapping presents this week? Yes. Is it showing that i haven't watched at all? Also yes. Will I be watching again bc its that funny to me? Absolutely!
