    It takes me back to the times my mom would go through magazines at the kitchen table. The sound of pages rustling, the smell of her coffee, and the radio playing. Comfort sounds.

      Patricia Ramsay so true! 👍 my mum would sit and eat her crackers for lunch, flipping through magazine pages, Then after she would wash her hands and return with a cup of tea, hand lotion and finish reading her womens magazine. The combition of the smell and sound of the magazine, the hand lotion and tea was so relaxing.

    Ooh please do a spoken version of this one! I would love to hear your commentary and learn more about what stood out to you in these magazines. My dad loved this time period and would always point out different models of cars when we would watch movies from the 60s and 70s. He loved this era’s music the most as well. Nostalgic for him since he was a child of the 60s and teen in the 70s ☺️

      That is a very sweet request and a nice idea. It’s too late for me however. Technically I can’t do it. The reason I didn’t do it the first time is because there were so many political topics and sensitive subjects in that magazine. I guess I could’ve just focused on the lighthearted stuff but I just knew people would notice that I skipped the biggest subjects of the magazine. I am far too opinionated on certain subjects of world affairs and local political and religious subjects. But, I have found an old more lighthearted magazine that I will speak in. I will also be doing a “look” magazine. Eventually. I really appreciate that you would like to hear my commentary. Thank you.

    As a 12 year old fan of page turning, I must say you do it so nicely and calming. I’ve always wanted to time travel back to the 50s, 60s, and so on up till the day I was born just to see what life was like before I came into the world. This ‘vintage’ time we now remember as feels like millenniums away, I guess you’ve given me a glance at what it was like, very pleased with the video! No pressure to
    please me!😂

      You’ve got that right! But I don’t think the paper has any more or less ability to last through ages. It seems more fragile in fact, than today’s magazines because there is no glossy substance in it. It is pure quality paper.

    I enjoy reading and looking through old magazines. I work as a caregiver with lots of elderly men and women and I sometimes bring the vintage magazines to have them have a chance to look at the magazines and reminisce! I asked a woman once if she ever subscribed to “good housekeeping” or other magazines and she said that she never subscribed to them because they were to expensive for the average mom taking care of kids and trying to live frugally! She said she sometimes would get a magazine after it was handed down from someone else, but otherwise she said she read them rarely! So that was interesting to hear! Great video! 👍😀

      @@RebeccasBeautifulASMRAddiction btw, may I request something for a future video?
      I've just lost my pet budgie Erwin. We have a cat he was good friends with and decided to get a second one. We were expecting them to get along as well, as we were training that little kitten to behave around our budgies just like we did with our first cat. Sadly, thing didn't go as planned and our new cat killer my feather baby, one of my best friends.
      I've been staring and playing with his feathers I collected over the years and thought it might be relieving and helpful to have an asmr video with feathers? I always loved it when my budgies preened themselves and each other and the sound of them flying through the rooms.

    This reminds me of when I was a kid at our family's mountain cabin, where my dad had taken a stack of his back issues of Life from 1961. They were also water damaged and sounded like this Life magazine that she's thumbing through. I wasn't yet born, so they fascinated me. All the old ads, lots of pictures and features on President Kennedy, an article on Ernest Hemingway's funeral, old record club ads with a featured "Chet Atkins in Hollywood" album.

My father worked for Hughes aircraft company as an engineer in the 60s. In1961 He helped put the first lunar module on the moon. The same year I was born. I thought that was pretty exciting stuff.

    This video makes me wonder what kind of items will be considered vintage in 80-100 years. I’m 17, turning 18 soon, but I would like to keep some sort of time capsule for future generations to open up! I’ve already saved some VHS tapes & DVD/CDs from the 2000s. Wonder what else I should add to it?

    • @RebeccasBeautifulASMRAddiction
      @RebeccasBeautifulASMRAddiction  4 роки тому +2

      Maybe an old flip open cell phone. Or even hard copy photos. Vintage is basically anything that denotes its age my the item itself. Like wine. Which is where the word originates from. Antique is anything over 100 years old. It’s interesting that you are interested in such things. 😍

      Rebecca’s Beautiful ASMR Addiction oh! That’s so interesting! Thank you for informing me. I always thought the words vintage & antique were interchangeable.
