The Apothecary Diaries is such a good anime!! Definitely pulls you in both the mystery and romance genres, and I love the historical Chinese setting. Anyone who’s interested please go watch!

Genuinely loving Frieren. Just started Apothecary Diaries and I understand the love for it. It's great. I told myself I'd never watch a MMO gaming anime again but damn is Shangri-La Frontier very good.
If you're enjoying Shangri-La Frontier then Bofuri might be another MMO gaming anime that works for you. It's more cute and silly, but the MC has the same schtick of making an unconventional minmaxed playstyle work better than it should.
"I'm Giving the Disgraced Noble Lady I Rescued a Crash Course in Naughtiness" is great, charming and hilarious. Criminally underwatched, def needs more love.
The top 5 non sequel animes of the season for me are these:
- Frieren (I'm in love with the world bulding and characters of this show. Plus our MC Frieren herself despite being very cold at times is such an interesting character)
- Pluto (Truly what a show. Having seen Astro Boy, it's just insane how the author could take a sinple concept of 'humans vs robot' and give his own unique spin to it to stand out from everyone else)
- Apothecary Diaries (Really loved how they handled the mystery, culture and world building in this show. Plus the MC is really a likable and sassy girl not to the point of being too annoying)
- Undead Unluck (Very bizarre yet hilarious at the same time. The duo MC's just work together and the concept plus plot are so werid and wacky yet interesting as well)
- Overtake (Surprised to see just how well written this show was and how it takes a different apporach to tell it's story relatee to racing. Plus, it used some very great CG for the cars and even great camera angles)

Ron Kamonohashi is easily unlike most detective anime, instead of having a detective that can magically solve a case instantly, now you have a detective that kills criminals the second he confronts them, making it a huge flaw for any detective character. It's arguably very unique even for an anime of this Fall in 2023
Akira Amano's artstyle is also spot on, her character designing only gets better since Katekyo Hitman REBORN and there's a reason why Reborn and Ron Kamonohashi are praised for their artstyle. Sadly, people assume it's a BL just with the artstyle but in reality... That's just how good her artstyles are
This man just gives us all the bangers of the season with less than 10 minutes of our time, give this man a medal
You should definitely watch this season's "The Yuzuki Family's Four Sons" its so wholesome
Shy is fucking amazing. My hero academia successfully made me hate the genre but Shy swooped in and made me love it. It touches topics I didn't expect in what looked like a superhero comedy. Truly an underrated anime
Kinda over the superhero thing bc of MHA and that fandom they have. If Shy is more of the same I don't think it's for me and I'll probably skip it.
@@sincerelynotme3522 Shy is definitely not the same. The only similarity is the superhero aspect and "getting better in superheroing" but Shy is more of a drama that focuses on the relationship between heroes and the world. Think of it like Captain America Civil War situation
@BonitoIncognito I think I'll put it in my " I'll watch this later maybe at some point but after like 2 years" folder. Not really feeling it and the fact that you're saying it's a drama will probably cement it in that folder for a while.

Ngl, this season has a lot of silent bangers. Shy, Tearmoon Empire, particularly I'm in love with the villainess, and to a lesser degree Undead Unluck (as it is relatively popular already) all deserve more attention imo.

As a fan of visual novels, I would also recommend 16bit Sensation: Another Layer; it has a lot of references to the golden age of bishoujo games and mentions of well-known titles in the industry

I think the only one anime I would add is 16-bit sensation - watched all episodes recently. Quite a charming story with tributes to the old stuff from the 90s

I would add The Yuzuki Family's Four Sons and Firefighter Daigo in the list. Maybe Onimusha from Netflix too. I just watched two episodes and it looks pretty good.

That anime is guilty pleasure for those who like wish fulfillment romance (such as myself!).
I enjoyed the light novel and I am now enjoying the anime, but claiming that it is great in good faith feels impossible.

3- The 100 Girlfriends
The Apothecary Diaries is also fun, but it isn't that good, for me.
Tastes are truly different, for me the apothecary dairies is the only great show of this season, and the other are only good , maybe it’s because I knew how well written it is and how every case fits perfectly to create a relatable and realistic world .

I highly recommend The Apothecary Diaries It has Drama and also mystery a bit of romance i guess, If you like Historical Chinese setting and Mystery that wants you to keep going and entertained then please do watch it, I enjoyed it a lot, and For those who wanna watch i hope you enjoy to!

Have you tried Hikikomari Kyuuketsuki no Monmon? It's pretty funny, but it turned dark suddenly. And then bsck to the comedy, and the last episode feels like the prologue to despair 🗿

Goblin Slayer is a True Masterpiece. Side Characters, Protagonist who is actually quite average and feels real, calm minded, badass, funny and smart. Animation everything is perfect. On top of the Farm Girl is the best girl. This Season animation has been top tier which it deserves. This is one of the best adventure anime.
I'm thinking about watching Pluto and Frieren, as I've heard these two are easily the best this season. But if I'd to watch ANOTHER anime, except these two, what's the third best anime this season? I hope someone answers me lol

As much as I want to say summer has some good animes, same with Spring, but Fall is filled with crazy anime, Fall really has a great season with good collection of anime releases, no questions asked.
