This self defense instructor taught me to make up a stick 1 and 1/4 thick and about 30 inches long for defence. Chanfer the edges on the ends of them. I have a big one and two little sticks.

Years ago we had a german shephard who just LOVED to chase rocks. His best friend turned out to be a visitor. The neighbors adult son knew one of the pitchers from the Atlanta Braves. When the pitcher came up he threw rocks for the dog. He didnt believe it when they told him the dog brought back the same rock every time, so he used a pocket knife to scar the rock so he would recognize it. He HEAVED that rock as hard as he could (considerable since he was a PITCHER). The dog was gone for a long time, but he brought back the SAME ROCK.

Imagine that!!! I am so sick and tired of this grrr winter!!! We had tee shirt weather last week and now 0 deg. f all day and minus 10 at night! Tons of projects planned but so cold here. I guess my ex must be thinking of visiting as when she shows up - the furnace comes on until she leaves! Ha ha ha !

When you drill the holes for your timber frame WHY do you not drill them with the middle hole offset so that when you drive in the peg it pulls the joint IN and as such making the joint tight and also when the wood dries it will keep the joint together
I don’t offset my holes 1/16. That is a lot of extra. I have found the pins stay in pretty good without. And I use Timber screws in all corners for extra measure as well as hurricane straps. And, I also don’t notch for rafter beams either. I use and overlap joint at the top with two pins. After building several structures and more to do by myself it would take a lot of doing to follow the whole book. I hope I can finish in the next few years at 70, lol

Landon is starting to grow like a weed. He'll be taller than you soon Jennifer. Not only does that Cage provide safety, it has to be a lot more comfortable standing on the floor of that, and being able to set your tools down safely than standing on a ladder and having to find a safe place to place your tools in between use.
