Small channel, but the video was interesting and informative! I was wondering why Pact of Negation was good, now I understand how it plays into Modern. Thank you!
Not necessarily agreeing on Flusterstorm, as i still see it as passable option against multicast/turn opponents (on 2 spells it already is a better spellpierce) and stormdecks mostly going close to all-in. Also: Rune snag is missing as a primarily weaker, later stronger Mana Leak and commandeer as alternative (but weaker) FOW. Also chuckled as you said Cryptic Command is not broken... *puts Austere command beside it*. Otherwise, a nice representation.
What’s your thought on Mission Briefing with the current UR Delver deck in modern? Being able to surveil over what snapcaster provides seems better. Helps the Murktide Regent and the Delirum girl flooding the graveyard with multiple types and spells to delve. And unholy heat
@@Joelthelobo sounds like its worth a try i think the problem is just that snapcaster is a better version of that spell, so its hard to justify playing it rather than just more snappys
wow Id never seen render silent before, love the card! I shouldnt have skipped dovins veto, thats definitly on me tbh I didnt know absord and disallow were modern playable at any point the more you know
Render silent seems like a very underrated counterspell, but I’m also trying to justify Disrupting Shoal being a good counterspell especially with the current meta being a bunch of 0-4 drops, what do you think about that card.
@@Joelthelobo the only real use case I can think of is in mirrors of decks like blitz or storm where both decks have mainly 1 and 2 mana spells the problem is that in these decks, individual spells are very low impact, its more about critical mass, so its almost never worth getting the 2 for 1 off since shoal doesnt exile, youd almost always rather have force of negation tbh
fyi Spell queller and Aether gust do not counter spells. I know they are used for that purpose, but technically they do not. Also you may have more tiers, most tier videos use 5. And, where is my card??
I´m looking forward to seeing your guys´ lists! Create them at tiermaker.com/create/modern-counter-spells-773574
I'm glad someone has an appreciation for counterspells as much as I do
sick new channel logo man

I can see the argument for flusterstorm, I just think it not hitting planeswalkers, enchantments and artifacts makes it a little weak
@@litkakashi Definitely.

are we talking blitz or the version with murktide regent?
