Thanks for sharing, I did indeed have questions and am looking forward to thoughts, both now and later when we know more. Gotta say I'm excited for the CTE.
Ak5c with heavy barrel and high power rounds means basically 0 horizontal spread. The bullet will go exactly where you point it. Difference is night and day, even with the 530 rof all your rounds in a short burst will hit target
they better make medkits and ammo crates work like they did in bf3 n bf4...the amount of times ive dropped a medkit at my feet in 2042 and dont get healed is unreal
What would yall think about going back to recoil mechanics and removing the bloom mechanic? I'm so tired of having bad days when I hold center mass and watch everything spray around my target, sometimes it feels like I'm playing Borderlands with how bad the spread can be on certain guns. I'd love to have V's recoil management back.
If by bloom you mean spread mechanics then I'm mixed on the subject. BC2 was great fun with the gunplay because of the spread mechanics. You could tap-fire laser someone from across the map with just about any weapon but you couldn't mag dump any weapon at range and expect to hit anything accurately. It meant you were less likely to get killed by some random full auto spray across the map but it could still be done at close ranges. That and the hipfire spread in that game was heavily punished so it encourages ADS gunplay which made hit registration more consistent since people couldn't spam strafe fire as fast while ADS. I believe the developers were going to try and get BF2042 closer to that but what we ended up with was something worse where you can just spam full auto at range without worry, even more so for console players. It makes gunplay less satisfying when it becomes trivialized like that. BF4 had similar tap-fire gunplay to BC2 and a lot of people seemed to enjoy playing both of those games. This is coming from someone who played a significant amount of CS where weapons had well defined spray patterns. Also didn't BFV's gunplay involve RNG spread for most weapons outside the SLRs?
@@Ravic What would you say differentiated BC2's gunplay from BF4 then? Over the years, I've formed that impression that you aren't too big a fan of BF4 but you are of BC2.
@@spartanB0292 If I had a choice between the two I'd take BC2 over BF4. There was more risk vs reward or having to give things up for ease of use so it had better balance. Vehicle vs infantry was more balanced or it felt enjoyable from both sides. Gunplay might have been simpler but it made for more satisfying consistency. The major thing I'd change is make it so sniper rifles couldn't one shot to the body. BF4's isn't terrible but the game itself comes with a lot more baggage.
"That can be very subjective and depends on what they or the developers consider to be the core of Battlefield. Like most things mentioned we won't know what they mean until we see it." Agreed, thing is even the OG DICE change so much stuff that I dont think they really have a list of stuff that are part of "core of battlefield". Closeest thing would be pre-frostbite era games. But not even those are safe from wild variations
I've been really liking the AK5 lately. That high power ammo is unquestionably great... but I ended up liking the close quarters ammo better myself, because I still have to rely on being a little spammy to win some gun fights unfortunately. The higher ROF with close quarters rounds ends up working better for me, because I miss with lower ROF guns too often lol.
If the CQ magazine was thirty rounds I'd use it but since it's over that I've avoided using them for the same reasons mentioned in the video description.
"Part of me worried that by their wording all they meant by the mentioning of BF3 and BF4 was that they were going to shift the era to something closer to what was in BF3 and BF4. Although personally I didn't view BF2042 as that far into the future even with the vehicles and gadgets. The flight mechanics sure those were pretty far in the future spaceship-like physics but overall I'd say BF2042 was modern when compared to the previous two Battlefield games ( BFV, BF1 ). Anyways worst case scenario all they mean by referencing BF3 or BF4 is they plan to go to an era closer to those games and that's it, no game mechanics, design, etc. from those games. Double worst case scenario they bring BF3 suppression" Im afraid it would be stale as well. But given that people are asking for bf3/bf4 remakes, its not the worse path that they can take. But yeah suppresion is horrid but oddly the majority of battlefield subreddit is demanding for it to return lol
I've never been much in to the lore, but I thought it would be obvious to just pick up where BF4 left us. That introduced the hover tank and railgun (+ those pods that you could fly in), which is maybe slightly too futuristic for the time, but enough to keep it not stale, as long as it's balanced.
There are so many audio effects in the game now versus at launch that it's a pain to hear the game around you. Reducing that by making my own squad and locking it just makes things quieter with no squadmates spamming spot or revive requests constantly or having random squadmates ruin any shenanigans I come across. It's also a challenge for myself.
If the ak24 didnt have that annoying 2 round burst it could contend with the ak5c. I like to quickly switch between semi and full depending on the enemy's range and getting stuck on 2 round burst when I wanted semi is annoying
@@Ravic my main gripe with 128 Conquest maps is that they're designed in a way that you're trying to capture an objective and you're getting shot from literally 360°, people don't play the objective, you get your Boris sniper camping with a ranger and the turret inside a bush, 500m from any objective just trying to get a kill... The term "Battlefield universe" really leaves a sour taste in my mouth. I really can't see how a term like that could be relevant in a Battlefield game without specialists or heroes or I guess just characters in general. That said, Helldivers 2 proved that players CAN become attached to their nameless and faceless grunts.
