Thank you! I’m 16 and have been very passionate about being a police officer for as long as I can remember. I’m glad I got to see how the application process goes so I have an idea of what to expect when I can apply
As a Marine (admin) 05-09...I took my final oath then. Wont make another one. I love liberty and all that comes with it...thank you for protecting it!!! Thank you for your sacrifice.
That is awesome! Thank you for your service and we appreciate you tuning in with us.
I'm super excited and pray I get selected; I come in for the written and PAT portion on November 30, 2022

I’ve been in that academy and I’m only 17 my brother is in the kcpd out of east patrol Joshua Bryant and his dad Joseph Bryant is a detective it is an awesome facility
You planning on getting into the family business? lol We would love to have you. Both Bryants are great Officers.
@@KansasCityPolice I actually am wanting to go into law enforcement I want to work my way up to MSHP so yes I actually do plan on joining
We wish you the best. Thank You for watching the Vlogs.
Cool video. How hard is kcpd's testing, I've taken kckpd exam twice and it's extremely confusing.
Chris wish we could say it was easy, but that's all relative to the test taker. I can tell you there is no math.lol Go ahead and head over to careers.kcpd.org and sign up for a test date. Thank you for watching.
Are you able to show us the Civilian Jobs as well? Parking Control ridealong? A process on the Civilian side?
You must have the inside scoop on our future vlogs.lol These are vlogs you will be seeing. We are also hiring on the civilian side for all the positions you have named if you or anyone you know is interested. Thank You for watching.
is everything still the same way that it is now?
What are all the obstacles for the PAT?
How long in weeks is the academy. I’m taking my written exam and PAT September 29th.
I'm going to be taking my test on September 30th. My question is when you go to the Academy do you live there or do you live at home and travel there every morning?
Congratulations. Glad you are going to be starting your process soon. The academy is Monday thru Friday and you travel there every morning. You will appreciate being at home after a long day at the academy. lol
@@KansasCityPolice Yeah I can only imagine. Thank you
Is it a requirement to become a resident of Jackson County after graduating the academy or do you only require employees to live within a certain mile radius depending on what patrol station?
You only need to live within 30miles of the city limits and live in Missouri.
The online KCPD page does not say anything about Salary or if they have a lateral program.
We do have a lateral program and you can email our employment section for salary information.
How difficult is the hiring process for an out of state applicant from New Jersey? I’m not used to applying to police depts really far out
Stefan the process is actually fairly easy to start. You can fill out your application and set up testing all online right now from New Jersey. The department will eventually need you to come to Kansas City, but we try to keep travel very minimal. Check out careers.kcpd.org for more information.
as a 19 year old what steps should i take to become a police officer im located in Pa . I just need ah pointer in what i should do . Should i got back to college? or could i just go throw the academy with a department ?
Start with reaching out to the department's you are most interested in working for. Ask them how old you need to be before you start the academy and based on the answer you get. You make the most informed decision. Whatever you do always chase your dream.
Start college and don't stop until you get accepted In a department, you will be disqualified through this journey so keep working towards a criminal justice degree bachelor preferably. Good luck to you sir
Kansas City police department is the best representative ever ! Ofc white law keep that shit up you dope !
Appreciate the love Wydeen and thank you for tuning in.
How soon do you start after testing?
Start dates can vary as there are several steps involved n the hiring process.
Do I get pay while I'm in the academy?
Yes!!!!

You can schedule a retest.
