This really shows where that real punk honest influence came from on My chem's first record. I missed that feeling being associated with them, and the rough, honest kind of recording style. This is kind of like a coming home to me, and I really dig it.
It's really great to hear how Frank's style and voice have evolved since Pencey and even MCR. This is by far one of my favorite albums of the year thus far. I love the unique sound and fresh take on things-- so proud!

Listen to Titus Andronicus for something recent. This kinda music is also really rooted in bands like Minor Threat and The Bouncing Souls. Also try Frank's band from before my chem, called Pencey Prep.
I was never a fan of Frank's vocals in Pencey Prep but I appreciate his vocals here... I knew that his solo thing was going to sweet since I heard 'This song is a curse', I'm so down on getting this album. Nice going, Man!
It's a band, but Frank took the old classic idea of naming the band after yourself and calling the other members "and the ______", so it is a full band. Frank is the lead singer/guitarist.

Also, maybe strangely, the vocals are kind of similar to Bright Eyes, though that's really more of an indie-type folk project.
Frank's vocals do sound a bit like Conor Oberst's. Totally different style of music though.
