First let me say, I'm extremely impressed by your daughter's talent, and she's not even in Kindergarten yet?! I see a future paper doll artist here. I should know, I made career of it for over 30 years. I'm 65 and only found out I was autistic a year ago. I wish we could hang out and just be weird and creative together! Morbs, a new word learned.
She started kindergarten this fall! She is very creative, and it's sounds like you are, too!! I would love to see some of what you've made over the years! Cheers to meeting another late-diagnosed autistic person! I wish we could hang out, too. There is no one like me (that I know of) in this tiny town.
I has the same problem. I don't have kids, but my boyfriend was off work for a long holiday and I could barely get any work done. I also can't clean and slack on cooking. It's not just that he's here and at times wants to talk or is distracting, it's also that mentally I think we're going to go somewhere when he's off so I end up in wait mode. And we did go places a lot too. The only thing that kinda worked for me was putting on a movie long essay, or music and trying to drown out the world with my hood down and headphones on. If I can't hear him it wasn't so bad. Our computers are in the same room so that is a little hard. But I did get a lot of old Wips done, made a tree skirt, made a jacket for my mom, impulse bought some stickers for my comic.
Yes, it's so hard to be in wait mode! The slacking is real, but I'm glad you were able to get some stuff done have get creative with the tree skirt, too!
I watch a wide variety of content related to neurodivergence, but I have to tell you, yours are the only videos I'm excited to watch when they pop up. Besides having a great personality for this, you're very good at describing your experiences in a way I understand and connect with. I'm so thankful for what you do. 💗
Hi Holly! Thank you so much for sharing about the challenge of the unstructured break! You really ended up creating a lot! I like the idea of setting up a schedule for yourself for future breaks. I am going to keep that in mind😊
We had snow and boil water notice so we were all stuck together for 3 weeks and it was miserable. Last summer I hired a friend to help me part time to make kits but I was still very overwhelmed. How did putting your wholesale on hold go? I have been too nervous to do it but you have me thinking about it. I may look at my numbers and see if closing wholesale for summer may be worth it or would be a huge mistake.
Putting my shop on hold for up to two weeks is fine-ish, but there is no way I can do that over the summer because I have to pay them bills. It makes me so nervous to think on how the summer with my daughter at home is going to be!! Ek!

I am messy so when I get an oil stain, even if it's been through the dryer, I put dishwasher soap on it and it usually gets it out
