Great video! Thinking of doing mine,i have a leak, took it to BMW a while back and even they couldn't find it .. I've had a look myself and i can't find it. I'm thinking it might be the hose under the inlet manifold.
How are the silicone hoses doing?

@@dRew-something silicone hoses have been awesome (knock on wood). Would 💯% recommend

Great video! Getting ready to get these coolant hoses and wanted to see what they look like.
ONE SUGGESTION: Next time you get the chance, make sure to use the blue BMW coolant or Zerex G48 coolant [50/50 mix] to keep your coolant system reliable. 😉

So that actually is the blue BMW coolant but it has some of the green dye in it :)

just a tip: do not move the gates on the new hoses, they will click if they snap into place so you know when the seal is tight

FUNNY my root problem was bad o-ring on fan thermostat. Now I have new lower radiator hos. Recommend spare 8/14MM 3mm thick o-rings in parts bucket. They seem to not last.

Hey for the little gate on the upper radiator hose I am missing an O-Ring for my mishimoto hoses, Will I need it or did my kit come without one for a reason?

I would reach out to them. I can't be 💯 (because I don't want to disconnect mine) but there has to be some barrier to prevent leaks and IIRC there is no ring on the coolant reservoir so it would have to be in the hose (both big and little)

did you cute the old hose and used hose claps for new rubber ?

The radiator hoses come with the plastic 'end cap' connectors and metal gates attached. No need to cut anything, just remove the old hoses and install the new hoses

Super annoying just going to add. I order two kits of e46 silicone Mishimoto hoses and neither kit included upper small o-ring for expansion tank. Went to junk yard for spare o rings. Took awhile to figure out why these brand new parts out the bag don’t work.. missing o ring.
You can take your oring out of your oem hose, However I didn’t want to alter it since it’s known good with no leaks. Hence junkyard. I’ve reached out to turner Motorsport where I bought them twice already and they don’t care/ understand. Hope this helps everyone.

Good looking out and hopefully your comment helps others! I honestly cannot remember if mine had the smaller o ring.

@mymantman Thank you so much i just upgraded to mishimoto hoses radiator and expansion tank and was wondering why I still had a leak on the upper radiator connector 🤣
