    I bought my 30d new and still have it. I recently picked up an R7 and debating on doing an IR conversion on the 30d to give it a new lease on life.

    I still own and use the 30d, next to my 5d mk2 and 1d mk2. Perfect classic cameras. You dont need a 6000 euro camera to enjoy youreself and go out taking awesome pictures. Btw that location with the stairs would b great for b/w photos. Thnx for the video on de 30d👍📷

    I love that shutter sound! By the way, what gear are you using to film your videos?

      I'm mostly using a GoPro for moving shots and a Fujifilm X-S10 for static shots.

    Wonderful! Canon probably had a very very profitable decade from 2000 to 2010 & could afford pouring money into developing new cameras.

    Great video. My very first DSLR was the Canon 30D. I bought it brand new (it was old stock being sold off) in 2009 and I still have it. It’s a brilliant camera. I also have a KissX4 (550D) and a 5D Mk.1, but the 30D has served me well over the years and given me some brilliant pictures. The one thing I’ve done with the 30D is to buy a CF to SD adapter and I run it with a 32GB SD card instead of a CF card.

      Thanks! Nice to hear that people are still using this camera, I was very positively surprised by it. Good idea with the SD card adapter, I need to try it out also.

    That sigma macro lens you used, what’s your review on that. I’m interested in purchasing that lens but don’t see many recent posts or info about it being an older lens and how it holds up

      I wouldn't really recommend it. The image quality is good enough, but the build quality and usability have problems (very plastic build, slow noisy focus). As a macro lens, it's not very practical, the distance to the subject is quite long and it doesn't go to 1:1 macro.

    Does it take video?

      No, unfortunately not. I think the 60D is the first in the series with video.

    Does the canon 30D have a shutter count limit?

    • @mikaelrphoto
      @mikaelrphoto  Місяць тому

      There is an expected shutter life of 100 000, but there's no limit, it can work well beyond that
