- This isn't a review, but rather a hands-on test of the Canon Powershot V10. In this video, I take the Canon Powershot V10 out and about, showcasing the footage straight out of the box as well as with various settings adjustments. Also, I compare some of the footage to that of the DJI Pocket 2. Stay tuned for my complete review though, I'll be sharing it in the next few days!

I'll take the GoPro 11 over both! For as much as the V10 cost I think it should have better IS and better audio. I actually think my GoPro 10 is a better camera. Nice test Ms. Tamara! 💜💜
I agree. The price point is off for what it is and given that the HERO10 is not at all far behind the HERO11 in terms of quality, you’re probably not wrong.

The best camera was the GoPro Hero 11 at the end of the video. I wanted to like the Powershot V10, but the footage is not too good.
I think the audio on the V10 is pretty good though! The form
factor is also really nice!

I`ve got pocket 2. If You put it on 4K60 instead of 4K24, You get a higher bitrate and it looks much better than the Canon on 24 fps.
You had the ND filter on the whole time, even when looking at low light. How many stops is that?
I actually switched it to auto, my mistake with text, as I wanted to see how it did going from normal light to low-light. So it adjusts automatically.
@@TamaraGabrielUK I see it's a 3 stop filter. How does the auto mode work? Typically built in ND filters slide in to place when enabled. If it's set to auto does that mean the filter will automatically slide in and out while recording? That's not easy to deal with, as there will be frames captured while the filter is not fully in place, and the auto exposure will see a big exposure change that can be hard to deal with.

The (lack of) dynamic range, and the pretty clear lack of correct shutter angle are…a thing. Even with the ND it’s blowing out the sky. I do think the audio is good-ish and the skin tones seem alright if a bit sterile.
Seems like it might be good as a B camera for reporters and on screen talent while a proper cameraman follows behind
This seems like an attempt at updating the Vixia/legria mini x that came out like 9 ish years ago. Accept… it’s actually worse. They should have put that super wide lens on this the fisheye
Nice video. Thanks. But "Low Light" means dark interiors or a video at night. Being under the shade of a tree is not "Low light". Why hasn't any UA-camr tested this camera on night video?🤔
The raw audio sounds very brittle too

I think you were in a hurry to make a review. But as a Canon M50 as well R10 shooter I can say that vloging or stabilization must not be default. That is we not use auto in DjI pocket 2. I use PRO which is manual mode. Please take proper time before giving a verdict in the thumbnail.
As I said, this isn’t a review. This is me going out and using the camera just like a beginner would who would pick up the camera for the first time and expect to get good results out of the box because it’s supposed to be beginner-friendly.
I've been really disappointed with the v10

If only this camera had IS , it would be way better .

Incorrect. It DOES have image stabilisation in the modes.

Doesn't look amazing, I think it's all about a good action cam DJI Action 3 / GoPro 11 when you just want ease of use and something like an X-S20 or similar mirrorless if you want quality/blurry background (or full frame if you don't mind the weight/size/price).

Looks like canon just said F it… we need something to compete with the ZV-1 line now!! And put out a cheap product with a lower price point thinking that would help boost sales, smh. I think I’ve only seen think media say good things about this camera… the Go Pro 11’s quality was soooo much better. Canon should be ashamed!
Honestly, this camera has me so confused. Who is it for? 🤔 It’s why I’ve taken so long to review it because I keep thinking if I keep playing with the settings I’ll get better results, but it’s just not up to scratch. There are better alternatives out there.

A lot of mid range smartphones
Some low end smartphones (with a gimbal)
All of them are better than Canon V10
In Android smartphones you have great cheapo apps that even shoot raw dng video. Others that allow you granular controls over near everything (noise reduction off, degree of stabilization, log profiles, manual exposure controls, manual white balance, access to all camera modules, etc).

They may be better overall but I think the bigger picture is folks are getting tired of using phones and wanting to go into creative mode without being attached to their phones. I scored this one at 150 open box with only one complaint on camera zoom. I have a pocket 2 as well.

That camera blows out the highlights massively and has plenty 1990s style digital artifacts. This camera seems very much to be something that some drunk Canon engineers designed on a beer mat during a heavy drinking session.
Both the GoPro and the P2 (with D-cinelike) look better than the Canon.

This has to be the dumbest camera release in a while. Who is this meant for? What does this do that a GoPro or Action3 doesn't? The dynamic range is legitimately awful.
When an action camera can outperform something like this, there’s no point. The HERO11 footage at the end looked far better.

Sorry to say, the camera looks awful.
Terrible image quality and awful stabilization.
This footage looks absolute trash. Plus, even if you set the EV to -1 it still somehow overexposes lol. Probably not a terrible camera, but some terrible software choices on Canon’s hand.
Feels like a product that should have stayed with them for a while longer. It also seems as if they truly don’t have creators on their payroll to give them early feedback.

Yeah, I can't imagine this had any feedback from creators at concept stage because it's lacking on so many levels. It's a real shame.

Just a terrible product. The stab is horrible. This camera doesn't deserve the name "PowerShot" since that name stood for great quality cameras so far. Canon, come on, it's 2023, get your act together..
