This thing looks like they accidentally forgot to release it in 2015 and now found it in the dust in a dark corner and decided to introduce it to the public.
I’ve had mine for about a month now and I love it. Look, it’s not perfect. But it’s so easy, and I gotta admit, I love carrying the V10 around as opposed to a bigger camera AND a mic on top AND lenses AND batteries AND… well, you get the picture. I also love how inconspicuous it is, and the form factor is just fantastic. My only gripe is the battery life but I can deal with that for now. I’m a fan of the V10. 😄
How is the battery life? I have the ZV1, where are the batteries? Don’t last more than 15 minutes. How does this one compare? I really want a camera with the flip up screen as opposed to a flip out screen where you can’t actually look at yourself while filming
@@CodeDeb If I had to guesstimate, you’d get about an hour of battery life on the V10, which is usually enough for my purposes. I also bought a charging cable so that I can recharge it in my car whenever I’m out and about. That said, I do hope later versions do have a longer battery life or at least the capability to swap them out.
Hey just got this camera! Not gonna lie, I've been LOVING it. The battery has lasted on full after a full day of taking photos and vid. I also keep the cord in the carrying case for when it depletes but that hasnt been an issue ( you can use it while its charging too.) I did go ahead and get the SmallRig cage for it which comes with a lens cap (that actually stays on), so thats been added relief for me. This camera keeps the main thing the main thing: it takes great video with enough shooting options for its size, has a 1"CMOS sensor, a flip screen, really decent mics with a mic output, a tripod built in AND a tripod thread. Plus, the photo quality has been really great for me too. The only thing I'd love is a removable battery and built in flash, but its so tiny! The SmallRig cage can easily mount a small flash when needed though. I think expecting this camera to perform like a Sony Zv1 or a DSLR is where most ppl are getting confused. Its a tiny little thing for fun video making and takes great quality vids FOR WHAT IT IS. There is a market for something which can do that at this size. Anyway, I enjoyed your review!!❤
I initially got this as a stabilizing camera for my walking vlogs, but found the video quite choppy compared to devices I've already been using, namely Fimi Palm Pro 2 and Insta360 Go3. I came away quite disappointed to say the least. Then I had an epiphany. I realized that the V10 works amazingly well as a still point and shoot! While I'm out filming my videos, I often stop to take quick rapid fire photos as well, but the Google Pixel I've been using is quite clunky, and difficult to hold one handed. This little V10 is perfect for that, and the photos come out better than the Pixel to boot!
I used to have a camera called flipcam, which essentially did what this canon camera does. I could put fish-eye lenses and Macro lenses, it was super cheap, super easy to record, footage looked great (focal length was a bit too high for an arm length but anyhow). The company closed and discontinued the camera. I have two and both of them won’t turn on anymore. Probably some battery problem. Truly such a loss as it was so affordable too!
Cameras like this should always have A super wide angle lens This is the kind of camera you would use back in like 2013 to make Vlogs on UA-cam I think people don't realize that the daily Vlog kind of video would have been good with the camera like this. But nowadays people don't typically Vlog like that anymore the quality is not bad for what it is
I get 4K from my cellphone but only 1080p from the camera beside the screen. $430 is a bit steep for what is basically just a cellphone camera. They need to drop this to $50 or make it do a heck of a lot more. It's competing against cellphones.
I used to have a Kodak zi8 which was like this in a way....(2009 technology.) Just one button. Always there. Great for capturing family stuff now and then without being intrusive or getting lost in the settings.
Looks shitty but fun, like so many of our favourite cameras. Like the 2005 Sony Ericsson k608i. And the mic-in makes the difference. I understand if this product isn't the hard-pass we were all expecting.
I'm the type of person who doesn't own a lot of expensive tech, so the price of the G7X makes me fearful of dropping or damaging it. That price tag is always in my head. As a result, I don't use it, but instead keep it in a safe place. I never thought about how much of a barrier this is to my willingness to create. It's a mental block, like when you buy a $60 notebook and feel like each page needs to be used "nicely". This powershot camera seems so great. The concept/design is exactly what a vlogger would want.
Would you recommend this more than the G7X for vlogging? Honestly what I look for the most is stability and wide angle. I feel like this V10 still gives an amateur picture quality...
They could've made this camcorder shaped and give it optical zoom, optical stability, built in ND, and even keep the stand to angle it. But honestly for what it is, I'd recommend it
this camera is SO adorable and looks fun to use- I was wondering if it lets you adjust the nitty gritty settings like skin tone (redder/yellower), saturation, contrast, highlights, etc.?
Good video! But damn… again Canon cripples itself by mixing a few cool features, with a complete lack of user needed innovation. No stabilization, horrible filters, no cold shoe mount for lavs.
Hey I'm considering buying a camera to shoot my art process videos. Is this something that is suitable for that in your opinion or no? Thanks in advance ❤
Hello Connor thanks for sharing your review on canon V10...Was very helpful...What is the name of the other camera that you made this video with?It also looks so good and clear...I would love to check it out.
How would it compare to the DJI Pocket 2? I’m gonna be studying abroad soon and i’m not sure which would be best as they’re both compact and good for travel vlogging.
@@umaleitoraviajante don’t know if it’s helpful but i ended up going with the dji action 3 which is looking pretty solid for vlogging and getting great shots. it also has a ton of accessories available.
Hi! How does it charge ? I’m looking to purchase but I’m not sure about that part. Also, do you have any recommendations on microphones for this specific camera ?
it has inbuilt battery and the charging point is usbc, takes an hour or so for a full charge, also doesn't charge whilst camera is on, it's never a real problem for me I get a lot from 1 charge, it's super conveniant and a totally different experience very similar to a flip on steroids, i like mine alot
Totally go for a GoPro, they’re great. I think I may not have articulated well that I think it’s fun, but still not worth the money. I’m hopeful for the next iteration
It's an answer to a question that doesn't exist. It's between an action and content camera, and doesn't do either well. They're screwing around with this piece of crap when the G7 X III is backordered.
It is very shaky. However take note, that I didn't turn on digital stabilization for most of the video as I should have done. It was a mistake on my part.

Hey man, I respect your criticism. That said, the title of the video is “it’s terrible and I love it” and I feel like that reflects my opinion quite well. I have no intention of “clickbaiting”. Sorry if you feel as though I did

Hahaha kinda true! I’m hopeful for the updated version
Agreed. Does kinda seem like the no cloud needed next gen of
the Vixia vlog cameras Canon made around 2009.....
They probably revisited the idea during the pandemic. Everyone was online doing video at that time

I think DJI osmo pocket 3 is way better in overall quality and ergonomics

Now with DJI pocket 3, V10 looks like it's heading to the clearance bin. No stabilisation, no 4k 60p, no log mode..
Even pocket 2 is better than the V10
These are $200 straight from Canon refurbished. I'm very tempted!
Best video on this camera so far. Nice Connor!
Hey thanks bro! I appreciate you swinging by!
4:46 if you pause at any moment, the hand in V10 is usually blurry and iPhone is clear 🤔
This camera reminds me of the Canon Legria / Vixia Mini X, would be cool if they would make a new version of that camcorder.
Yeah that would be cool!

Glad you enjoy it

There is no stabilization when walking, only static shooting.
I just got it is it good quality like Dslr?
this camera is SO adorable and looks fun to use- I was wondering if it lets you adjust the nitty gritty settings like skin tone (redder/yellower), saturation, contrast, highlights, etc.?
Unfortunately those are not options in the menu yet. Maybe they will add it in an update
Any word on the v100?
That thing is making my Fuji look like it’s on a gimbal. Lol. I just ordered the X-S20.
Hahaha yeah it’s pretty awful when the stabilization is off. The XS20 is awesome 👏
The flip camera of the future!
I’m here for it!
I love my V10!
What focal length does it crop to when using stabilization?
I know that its made for vlogging, but they should have included some more photo modes, and also timelapse.
Good video! But damn… again Canon cripples itself by mixing a few cool features, with a complete lack of user needed innovation. No stabilization, horrible filters, no cold shoe mount for lavs.
Would have been an easy pick up for me if it was stable. And the design feels 2015 and they just forgot to release it.

It is totally viable, but I think there are better options out there rn. Look at my Osmo Pocket video

The best video of this camera i have watched so far
Appreciate that!
I would like to buy it only when they add built-in Image Stabilization into it ... or maybe v100 ??
Should I film 4k or 1080p
Amazing video!!! I like the idea of this camera, but I would prefer to see a 1.8F lens on it
I really appreciate it! Yeah that would be a nice improvement

does it zoom while filming?
how long power last for, how long will it take to full charge
How do I record then download to you tube ?

I’ll wait until a better version comes out. It at least has to look better than the iphone
Does it have any kind of lens cover to protect the lens in your pocket?
It doesn't. I was surprised that it didn't, but maybe third party companies will make something.
SmallRig made one but it seems they only released it in Europe? 🤷🏾♂️
Thank you
Absolutely 👍
Does this camera works with DJI Mic on a USB type c?
Hmmmmm, I'm not really sure. I believe it only supports audio through the mic port
Can you power the V10 through a USB-C power brick?
You can!
what a handsome host and shooter
Haha not biased
Hi. I get that you think it's fun. It's a toy to me and for what it retails for here in Canada, why wouldn't you just buy the latest GoPro?
Totally go for a GoPro, they’re great. I think I may not have articulated well that I think it’s fun, but still not worth the money. I’m hopeful for the next iteration
Killer video brotha!
Appreciate you man!
Own it.. hate it.. the DJI osmo pocket is a 100 times better..
Okay Im sooper rookie in this area, but can someone explain how is this camera better than an iPhone 15 pro camera for vlogging? 🤔
What about shooting at night? How is it in low or poor lighting?
One inch sensor, so it will be good.
This vs go pro hero 12 ?
How well does it film in the dark? Didn’t even gloss over that at all
Not very well unfortunately. Look at my Osmo Pocket 3 video. I think it’s a better option now
That's what i want, but I'm disappointed for stability
Hopefully the next iteration will be better
I really think its right for the price. Its not a $1000 camera
I loved my Flip.
I really don't see the advantage of it over the cell phone.
And above of that, you walk with 2 devices
Maybe a good street photography body cam. Minus the stabilization
Yeah, I’m hopeful that the second version of this gets better stabilization!

Hahaha

god damn, it only shoots jpeg, that honestly should be outlawed and 4k in only 30fps in 2023 is hilarious - Canon still in the medieval times
OMG Looks like no stabilisation :(
