Thanks so much for sharing your amazing experience🙏 This has always been my dream trip and still is; I truly hope to experience the beautiful and majestic mountain gorillas myself one day 😊 I enjoyed watching your vlog; thanks for providing us with the necessary insight as to what to expect. It was great to see each day unfold. Much love from South Africa 🇿🇦 ❤
1063 at most recent census, up from 242 in 1981, thanks to people coming to visit the gorillas! Gorilla tourism is actually a success story - because people pay to come see gorillas, the governments have taken steps to protect them from poachers and to expand their habitats after so much has been lost to farming. Permits are strictly controlled - less than 100 people are allowed to visit gorillas a day in Rwanda, at a cost of $1500 per person. The money goes into conservation and the local communities. Highly recommend visiting gorillafund.org to learn more!

Total cost?
The trip itself was $12,000, all inclusive except for flights.
@@averagegirldoescoolthings was there a specific site you dealt with to organize everything?
I typically travel through World Playground (worldplayground.co) They organized this trip!
