Re: Your special tool. While removing the seats, I found a nickel and put it in my pocket. I watched your video (life saver) and after I pulled out the shaft, I looked at the slot and realized I had discovered the perfect tool. It took about 20 seconds to use the nickel as a screwdriver and did not mar the surface on bit.
This was a big help for me on my 73 gran torino. One difference I noticed is that the bezel itself screwed into the headlight switch. There was no nut/bolt that held it in
Have a 1976 motorhome with the same type of headlight switch. Thanks for the tip about the button on the bottom of the switch. I would have never figured that one out. They even got it wrong at Autozone.
Great help I had know idea where to start. My headlamps are going on and off when I drive however all the other running lamps are still on... I was told to start with the switch. What do you think?
I can’t find the removal tool. What appears to be right says it’s for 65-66 or something like that. Nothing for the early 70’s Mustangs. Do you remember where you got the tool and what part number? Great video. I’ve been yanking on this dumb bezel not realizing there was the screw right in the middle that held the whole thing on. Mine is hosed so I don’t care about ruining more. I just want something to put the new one in and my others.
does this work same way for a 92 ford f150 xlt? i'm having trouble getting mine off.they look easy to remove, but they're anything but easy.once out,do they slide bk in and snap bk on just as easy?

This worked on my 82, Mine didnt have a retaining nut but the switch looks the same.
Very helpful video. Thanks!
tks my firend you give me the life!!
What is the other knob below the light switch? He maneuvers around it when he’s trying to get a shot of the release button.
Nice job!
Thanks man. 71 Torino exact same thing.
Thank you ,all the rest say the button is on the side . This is the same as a Australian XY Falcon.Save me from a lot of bad language .
is it the same for a 71 ford maverick
