I love the new on float water rudder. Looks so much more refined than the boat oar hanging all the way down from the rudder on the V1. Great informative vid Will. That green really shows up! Great float flying bud.
My PTSD friend absolutely loves flying the Ranger you donated to the program. We Thank You for helping out. Great video and I always enjoy watching float flying.
It is a great plane and a perfect 1st plane. Watch my Beginner Series on flying if you get a chance. It may answer some questions about that first, second and third flights. Good luck.
It’s fun and another part of the hobby to explore :) the coolest part is if you get the perfect speed to glide over the water without too much drag and take off again; touch , glide and go :D
Yep.. when you get that perfect touch and go.. My FMS Cessna is a better float plane.. The floats are a bit better on the water due to a slick plastic keel.. The Ranger floats are just foam and tend to have a fair bit of drag...
@@SteffenRC I thought about that too. I have my Turbo Timber actually on floats. They have an edge on the bottom, very nice but got hurt on icy water :P I also have the FunCub NG but those are flat as the ones of the Ranger I suppose. But those I have flown only on snow and there they worked super
That’s awesome!!! lol my plane hasn’t even came in and I already ordered the floats for it. I should have done em both together lol but I also took your advise and ordered a couple extra props for it while I was at it
This is a great plane. I am waiting for my green one to be delivered. In the meantime I have just added flaps to my yellow version 1. Probably doesn't need them but I just wanted to experiment with doing some of my own modifications. It's not the prettiest job but I learnt a lot in the process. I bought it as a ready to fly version and still using the flysky transmitter and reciever as it has a spare toggle switch and channel. Hopefully I will get her back in the air tomorrow. I also have floats but will probably put them on the green one. Flying off the water looks like fun. Ps. Still waiting for you to do a video on best paints for foam. Please. 😁. Thanks Paul.
Hey Paul, This version is really nice. I can tell the wing is a bit stiffer too... Congrats on the float mod. I get she's a real floater with a little flap. I haven't forgotten about the Paint Video.. Thanks for the suggestion.
Very nice video showing us how to configure and fly a float plane. Great job with the flying - you really make it look fun ! ( I am so tempted to dive in and get one of these with floats . . . I believe I will. ) I was wondering if you were some type of 'doctor' in your professional life. You seem to have the knack for 'healing' RC planes that need a little help.
I have a spare ESC that has reverse. If I find myself using the Ranger on floats a lot... I'll switch it out. I have several other float planes that have reverse.

Its a great little plane.. Really had fun with these floats. Well designed system.

Glad to help out..
I just bought this set up based on your videos. Looks to be a great little flyer and will be my first airplane. Thanks for all you do.

Great flying over the water!
You need floats for yours....

Thanks Joe.. Appreciate it.

Youre gonna have a blast with this plane. Its one of favorites.

If you are anything like me you have a million plans but never seem to get to do most of them. Lol
100% Paul....

You should get one. Its my go to trainer for helping new pilots and its wonderful on water/snow.. No Dr skills. Just like tinkering...
As far as i know, there is no reverse throtle in this plane. Is reverse throtle added to this ranger? I really wanna know! Thsnks in advance.
There isn't a reverse throttle in this plane. FMS hasn't upgraded the ESC yet.. Maybe V3...😎
@@SteffenRC ohhhh nooooo. Thats bum. Thanks for posting your video and reply

@@SteffenRC oh. I should get one that has reverse. I think reverse is useful to land or get out of bush.
will it be ok to fly / land this plane in a salt water ?
I've never tried it. I think it would be ok. I'd make sure to wipe everything down real well..
