I absolutely love these books!! I can't wait to get the Second and Third Tale. I will definitely color along with you. I wish you had more videos. You are a wonderful teacher and you voice is so soothing
I color fairly frequently, I'm a stay at home mom who's kids are all grown. Having loved art and coloring all my life, I now find I have a lot more time to do what I love and perfecting my craft and teaching kids and grandkids to appreciate coloring, photography, music....what ever you enjoy take time to employ.
I can color anytime I want because we are retired. I have a wonderful new hobby with coloring now. I'm trying to learn all I can and I love your videos. You teach so well. I still am trying to grasp shading. For me it is hard for some reason.
Congrats on your retirement and enjoying coloring! Thank you so much for your kind words and stay tuned, I have a video planned for the near future all about shading (shadow in particular). Keep coloring! :)
I am new to coloring and watching how to videos like yours... They are helping me so much. I love the way you teach in the videos. They are easy to understand. I am hoping to get one of the color books you are doing so I can color along with you. Thanks so much Laurie
The color-alongs are a great way to learn and then you can take the knowledge and apply them to pages on your own. Good luck and thanks so much for watching!
I like the way you explain light. Thank you for the color chart. This would be my next project. I got this book in November and I really love it but I don't enough time to color. Thank you again!
This is absolutely one of my favorite books out there! The "Second Tale" comes out Dec 20th and a Third sometime in the Spring 2017, so lots more Romantic Country to come. Thanks for your kind words and glad you're enjoying!
Thank you for these tutorials. I am really enjoying and learning a lot from colouring along. I like to colour on a day off from work, when my kids are in school, or in the evenings.
Great Video!! I am loving them. I usually color late in the evening after work. But on weekends I love to color in the afternoon when the sun is shining so bright.
I’m a newbie at coloring. Your videos were recommended. I have already been watch them! I haven’t started coloring yet. Just Watching and gathering supplies. Thanks for the helpful tips and lessons!
I color on the weekends. That's Friday Saturday for me. Unless it's shopping day. I try to color as much as possible but with my health it's getting harder and harder to do. But I love doing it. If I don't have the energy to color I watch UA-cam videos of someone coloring or teaching coloring techniques
Hello Cathren, I'm so sorry to hear about your health problems but glad that coloring is a source of joy for you. Its therapeutic for many reasons! Thanks for sharing :)
thank you for your explanations of where and why you placed highlights and shadows. None of the other videos I have watched explain the artists thinking the way you do !! Subscribed ... Of Course!
I am a police dispatcher. I often color Sunday mornings or early mornings if things are slowish. It’s a wonderful way to find calm amp momentary zen in a place that can be anything but zen.
I'm a married, stay home mom of a 13 year old boy. After I wake up and have my coffee I usually tend to color for about an hour or so before I shower and get ready for the day. Then, after dinner and my husband and son are home, I usually always color while they are watching tv. I have an art table set up in our living room (that way I won't always be in my craft room). I then usually stay up and color and watch UA-cam videos well after everyone is asleep. I'm a night owl so usually till 1 am or later. When do you color???
Nice, I love that you color in the same room as your husband and son! It's nice to pursue your own thing, but still be "together" :) I'm a night owl myself, so it's not unusual for me to color until 1am too! Thanks so much for watching!
I can color just about any time I want since I don't work. Life does get busy sometimes, so I don't always have the time to devote to it that I'd like. My favorite times to color are during the afternoon or early evening. I love turning on an audiobook and just going at it. This book is one of my next ones to get when I go shopping. I always love your videos and got an extra laugh today when you got tongue-tied. Hehe. Glad to know I'm not the only one it happens to, especially when shooting a video. :)
I get tongue-tied a LOT when doing the videos! If you can't laugh at yourself, I always say :) My daughter and I will watch Netflix while we color, but the audiobook or even a podcast is a great idea!!!
I try to color a little bit everyday, even if I don't have time. So it's usually after dinner, while my husband watches TV. I ended up buying a desk lamp so I can color into the night! I'm a full time student and work at the campus IT help desk for a couple of days during the week. I really wish I had more time for colouring!
That's awesome that you make time for coloring! I'm sure with being a full time student that can't be easy. It's a great way to relieve some stress and recenter yourself. Thanks so much for watching!
ok, I answered your question before even watching your video! After I watched, what a great teacher you are. Thanks a bunch for your explanation and the details you gave. Now I understand the light vs shadow aspect. Please keep making these wonderful videos. I just subscribed 💞💖
Hi Rachel, I really like your colouring videos! A question I have is if you plan to do colouring book reviews on your channel? It would also be neat if you showed some of your favourite colouring books and said a little about why they're your favourites. Maybe you could also talk about what themes you prefer in your colouring books (e.g. flowers/nature, fantasy etc). Keep up your nice work! :)
Absolutely! Great idea and thank you so much for your feedback. I love hearing what you guys would like to see on the channel and I'm happy to oblige, so look for that soon!
Hi, thanks for sharing tips and your colouring videos. In summertime long days, I manage to colour everyday. However, in winter, daylight is almost a rare. So, I try to squeeze a couple of hours over the weekend only, which is rather frustrating. Hope this helps 😊
I'm handicapped woman. I love coloring all the time . Also, I am needlepoint. My stress level is high. My coloring is relaxing me do my chores are daily duties.
+Kennita Collard I'm so glad coloring helps with your stress! Coloring is incredibly relaxing. Thanks so much for watching! Hopefully you'll join us and share some work in the PencilStash adult coloring group on Facebook
A library coloring group at the library, that's wonderful! Hopefully you'll share some of your work on our Facebook group, PencilStash Adult Coloring group!
I tend to color more in the evenings while my husband is at work and when my little parrot is settled down for the evening in his cage. I have my computer screen in front of me so sometimes I'll watch a video tutorial or listen to music or if I'm doing a repetitive design I'll watch a movie on Netflix.
Hi Rachael, I love your tutorials and how well you explain what you are doing as you go. My only issue is that I can't get on your website. It gives me a virus warning. You are such a blessing to me! Thank you for sharing your amazing talent!! Love from CT!
I try to color an hour before I go to bed. On the weekends I try to grab a couple of hours in the morning before I start my day or in the evening before I go to bed.
I work part time so on some days I'm able to color in the morning with coffee but the majority of my coloring is in the evening after dinner while the hubby is reading or watching TV. I color on the weekend, too.
PencilStash Since I am retired on disability, I color any time. Usually, I like coloring in the afternoons and evenings. Helps with my anxiety level. And I am now using polychromos pencils too and loving it. When I go to bed at night, I enjoy watching your videos. It's so relaxing and I love the advice you give. Thanks for all your great tips and advice!
You asked when we color? It might be an old question, because I haven't see all of your videos, I just discovered your channel, so here goes. A little background on myself. I am a cancer patient, survivor too! Yay! But, unfortunately to stay a survivor, I must remain on chemotherapy for the rest of my life. I had to quit my job and go on disability, so I color ALL THE TIME! LOL! I bought myself a drawing table and invested in several sets of good quality colored pencils. Prismacolor, Polychromos, and a set from Dick Blick's. So I'm all set with supplies along with several coloring books, drawing pads and everything! Since I have the time, I color every single day, morning, noon and night. I absolutely LOVE to color and draw, I'm obsessed with it actually. So maybe the better question for me is when don't I color! I love your videos and reviews and tutorials! I subscribe to your channel and receive notices of your posts. Keep making the videos and I'll keep watching!
Dana Jordan, Hi, Dana! Your backstory is inspirational and a wonderful example of overcoming adversity. I deal with a number of health issues that cause constant pain, fatigue, and nausea. I learned to sew at 16 years old and love it but I can’t sew right now; so, I’ve recently started learning copperplate calligraphy and am now learning how to color with different mediums.
Thanks for the video. You do a wonderful job. Very enjoyable I am a fan. I have a question. I cant find the conversion pencil chart to use Prisma pencils. I went to your website and couldn't locate it. Thanks for your help.
Omg, you are the second person to tell me that TODAY! Which means I really need to do a better job of making those more visible. I'm so glad you told me! I had been burying them in the individual blog posts. I just went onto my website and created a BRAND NEW MENU BAR ITEM called "Color Charts." If you click that link from the homepage, it'll take you right to them! Please let me know if that helps. And thank you so much for your kind words, I greatly appreciate you watching! Keep coloring ;)
I used to color a little everyday even if it was only 10 minutes. Now, I make myself feel guilty for coloring. I feel like I should be doing something crafty I can sell or give.
I have a two year old so I color when I find I have a free minute or five. I focus on finishing one piece of a picture, like a flower, that way I don't get frustrated.
I absolutely love these books!! I can't wait to get the Second and Third Tale. I will definitely color along with you. I wish you had more videos. You are a wonderful teacher and you voice is so soothing
I like to color in the evenings to unwind after my workday. I am learning so much from your videos.

When and why do you use polychrome? I just got book to. My first attempt at coloring.
Can you list the color numbers as you use them? Please.
I'm retired so colour whenever I want, probably more often after dinner. I'm a lucky girl.
I can color anytime because I’m disabled and do not work.
