    TESTIMONIALS
    ‘Started hitting the moves laid out in these courses the very next class...extremely uplifting to have such a quick improvement in my game’ - Houston, TX
    ‘I’m the only white belt in the academy doing these moves…I’m suddenly competing at a blue belt and above level…thanks Coach Tom’ - LA, California
    ‘Some of the best strategies you are going to see for control and submission’ - London, UK
    ‘The detailed way Prof Tom breaks down his moves into the absolute essentials is just next level for me. This is absolute gold‘ - Sydney, Australia
    ‘Most of the guys at my Academy, have about 60lbs on me, but since purchasing your ‘Kimura Attack system’ and ’14 days’ everything has changed. I feel much more confident, roll better and the guys on the mat have commented on the same. Thanks, Coach Tom’ - Dallas, TX
    ‘I know you have your names for your courses, but I’ve renamed them the ‘Zero to hero’ courses, I went from getting constantly owned, to now being completely dominant on the mat in no time at all’ - San Diego, California
    ‘I use the course material heaps, and just recently put it into action at a local comp, walked away with double gold. No one was more surprised than me! - Miami, Florida
    ‘As a new white belt, these classes have helped me so much, Prof Tom’s technique, the details, and his attitude. I love how Prof. Tom shows the ‘mistakes people make’ and then shows the correct way of doing things. The only one I have ever seen do this’ - New York, New York
    Great videos, great instruction. I just watch them for hours…Melbourne, Australia
    ‘The instructional saved me big time at a recent comp, my opponent was def more experienced, but that was ok, coz I had Prof Tom’s video in my brain. Nailed it and scored gold’ - Colorado, Denver
    ‘All of it. Everything you show in your awesome videos are now my ‘go to techniques’. Thanks for your vids Prof, Tom’ - Houston, TX
    ‘You really have to watch every second of the video because Prof, Tom drops these little nuggets of gold throughout the course. And they make ALL the difference. The only one doing this. Keep them coming Professor’ - NY, New York
    ‘If I could only be taught from one person, Prof Tom would be it. I can’t wait to train in person one day’ - Dallas, TX
    ‘Went to a recent competition with these videos fresh in my mind. I knew I had an edge and the confidence this gave me was unreal. Got the gold. All submission wins! - LA, California

    Thank you Prof. Tom, I live in Kosovo and we don't have any BJJ gyms, I am trying to learn the basics with some friends and your videos are very helpful. Thank you!

    I love this setup for the darce, I always think of it as a "swooping" attack

    Excellent. Love knee on belly! Took me a while to get that far side armbar in a roll but started hitting it recently. That darce is nice 🔥

    Love all the content you're putting out!
    Been working Darce's and Anaconda's lately and I swear I've watched about 5 of your video's that have great details as well as great setups for the finishes!
    Thank you so much.

    Coach Tom, thanks for the advice on trying the KOB (knee on belly). I'm a bigger guy at 6ft 200lbs and have always been afraid to use it from side control. (don't laugh too hard at that one ok)
    Anyways, I wasn't expecting that advice from you and I'm so glad that you put it in there along with all the other extra's that you normally do with explaining why or what could happen if we go for certain attacks. That KOB will force me (and my opponent by trying to get out of it) into trying new attacks like the ones you provided. Thanks so much Coach, I look forward to giving a try and bringing it into my attacks.

    Man I love the concept of linking arms for the Darce and then rotating into position. I tend to try to shoot one arm through and grab the back of the head

    • @lowlowseesee
      @lowlowseesee Рік тому +1

      yea yo keeping grips locked does a ton of stuff. breaks posture, makes it harder to break your grips and helps get that arm waaaaay in there to leave no space for the choke to fail.

    These videos are incredibly helpful with the multiple options for attacks. I love it! However, Coach Tom, I must admit that I suffer from knee on belly guilt and anxiety because I weigh 50-80 lbs more than most of my partners. Am I being naughty?

      you shouldn't feel guilty. I remember I used to train with a guy who was easily 140kg. I remember someone said to him "can you stop putting all your weight down on me please?" and his reply was to say "I don't ask the smaller guys to move slower or the muscular guys to use less strength". I thought that was a fair point.

    Question: when you have him in the armbar and you hook the left leg, for me, my 1st instinct is going to want to roll my right leg on top of the person while also giving me the ability to bend my elbow and hopefully break free of the armbar. How do you keep this from happening:)

  • @BlairLSK
    @BlairLSK 6 років тому +4

    How rock solid is the 'rule' of an arm bar finishing in the perdendicular or acute angle vs the obtuse angle? 3:15 Is it because you can control the leg and therefore limit the possible escapes?

    • @stefanoportocarrero3151
      @stefanoportocarrero3151 6 років тому +2

      BlairLSK That position holding the leg is called spider web but u’ll see it mostly with the other person defending the armbar holding his arms so there are some attacks from there

    • @TheGrapplingAcademy
      @TheGrapplingAcademy  6 років тому +2

      Great question Blair. Its to prevent an ultra easy unstoppable hitchhiker escape. The only way to prevent is to keep a small angle or hold the leg/pants. (-: Coach Tom Davey
