Sending love and prayers Lidia. I hope you're doing okay I know its hard cos I'm suffering from a hemorrhagic stroke too. Your videos have been inspiring me not to give up. Please please be okay ❤❤❤
Hi honey, I'm Gary from UK, so glad to see you're still making progress. I'm 3.5 yrs in from right hemisphere, front perietal lobe hemmorhage, left side affected (Aug 2020, aged 53). Have made some great progress since the stroke especially if I compare what I was like initially. Am pretty much like you nowadays however, I do have some arm /hand function (do you have any?). Anyway, great to see your partner is still supporting you, I've been pretty much swept under the matt by family, friends etc. Even my son's visits are few and far between these days, but I'd prepared myself for that happening so no big deal. Thankfully I've recovered enough to be pretty much independent although practically housebound, which, here in the English Lake District is very 'weather dependent' anyway, it can still snow here in June. 🤣The medical profession dropped me a long time ago therefore, I've no dealings with them anymore had Botox many times (more harm than good in my case). They had me on Mertazepine, Gabapentin, Pre-gabalin, Ramprill and even tried to get me on the statins as, apparently my cholesterol was 'dangerously high'. Anyway, I completely changed my diet so 'occasional junk food' but mainly live off've cassaroles made from onions, leeks, capsicums (peppers dunno what y'call them in the US), low fat sausage or chicken and potatoes. Has brought my cholesterol down dramatically in 5 months. As for steps towards stroke recovery, stopped pushing myself too much physically as I was just hurting myself so, just try and keep busy like you in your video. Still do some exercise weather permitting my walking is pretty similar to yours (not great, and painful). With regard to fatigue I take magnesium L-threonate (every other day as it's a heavy metal), dark chocolate (70% cocoa) in moderation of course, vits D and B12 daily. My greatest recovery aid has been to eradicate all stress from my life (which includes stressfull people). I studied and became a 'Zoologist' in my 20's these studie incorporated a lot of 'Biology' inclucing human biology.
Sorry ran out of words through You-tube. The one thing I've always born in mind regarding 'any' biological organism is that any multi-cellular being will always seek 'homeostasis'. Which means that it will restore itself to a state in which it can function normally in a given environment. So even though lost or damaged brain cells cannot be replaced (or so we're told) they can be compensated for. Main thing is 'we survived' and the only way is foreward. Keep at it darling, good luck. Take it easy on yourself and avoid stress.
How did her arm get to be so relaxed, i had my hemorrhagic stroke 5yrs ago, im 57now, I did therapy, never recovered much at all, had botox but my arm still contracted
No cane 😊 awesome Lydia!
