Just wow. Thanks. Many people really doesn't know the difference between DS and ML engineer. They use these words interchangeably very often. Sad part is famous data science youtube channel doesn't even discuss this.
@@AnuragPant-z1j it is explained in the video. To put it in one liner, data analytics is all about descriptive analysis of what happened and why it happened, data science is more about predictive analysis, what will happen in future
I love the idea of being a ML engineer but I seriously doubt I have the intellect for it. I enjoy working on personal projects, but going from that to practically working in a professional environment feels very daunting. I have no idea what I need to learn and be able to do, and I'm not sure that I would enjoy it as much if the projects themselves aren't interesting. In my personal work I get to be creative and invent new things but I wouldn't have the same freedom working professionally.
Thanks for this much needed clarification. I've applied to data science jobs and they expect me to not build machine learning model prototypes and I was really confused. Most companies, especially startups will interchange job descriptions.
one reality you missed to mention is job opportunity, ML engineers are not as much in demand, the ML engineers at google are far less than Data Scientists at Google. Also, ML is too specialized sub-branch, whereas a Data Scientist can work as either Data Engineer, Data Analyst or Business Analyst. And the compensation is also quite high.
actually i already have such video. In youtube search for "codebasics learn data analyst skills 3 months" you will my video that has step by step roadmap with free online resources. This is applicable for non tech people
Great video. I love coding a lot, but I do not have a computer science degree. I have a masters in statistics and two years of work experience building ML algos. After this, I have a 5 year gap without data, during which, I have been working towards my PhD in theoretical economics models. I wish to make a move back to the data world. Would love to hear your advice about which option is better for me to pursue
Sometimes companies themselves don't know what they really want. They might be selling a "Data Scientist" that would be doing only ML; and having a "BI Analyst" doing data wrangling, exploration and delivering insights.
@@codebasics I have experience in software testing now I am planning to change job, could you please suggest which is better machine learning or Data science?
I am a machine learning engineer at a large news organization, I build the model and I also deploy it, so this didn't really make anything clear to me.
