    I might be the only one that says this but I enjoy the longer videos. Thirty minutes of content for the countless hours you commit to fabricating these pieces of art is the least I can do.

    Totally sexy blade - I LOVE the shape - perfect utility shape. The reticulated blade pattern is extremely nice, but the ironwood handle - WOW!

    Usually industrial Roller Chain is at least 1080ish same as Chainsaw Chains, they have enough carbon to make proper blades even without powdered steel added but using powdered makes sure that you don’t have voids and delams. Given that your Roller Chain has a Nickel component to it the steel might not be a simple carbon steel or it might just be Nickel Plated simple carbon steel like 1080

    is the star shaped part halfway along the knife natural or stamped in, not watched these videos before and have no knowledge of this type of thing but the blade looks beautiful, ive never really wanted a knife before but there's just something about it that I cant shake but if you do sell them then im more scared of the price than the knife 👍

    Whats the edge thickness before you sharpen it? I try to get it as thin as I can comfortably go, close to a 1/32" edge with a saber grind for hunting knives but the edge still feels too thick. I havent handled much for other handmade knives so its hard to compare mine to others to see what a typical edge looks like.

    • @FireCreekForge
      @FireCreekForge  6 місяців тому

      About .020" behind the edge on this one

    Made me feel dizzy watching you work that angle grinder toward the inside of your wrist. Next time: put the chain in the vise so a link is sticking up then use a cutoff disk horizontally on the link sticking up. Easy. If you only have one hand holding an angle grinder you're already halfway to the ER.
