- Take a super-fast elevator ride up 56 floors to penthouse 56 at 56 Leonard in downtown New York City. The jenga-shaped luxury high-rise towers over the Big Apple’s skyline with epic views in every direction. It’s a very luxurious combination of ear-popping & eye-popping real estate. The $123,000 a month price tag makes this one of New York City’s most expensive rentals. CNBC’s Erica Wright and Ray Parisi head up to meet Douglas Elliman real estate broker Timothy Mezler who explains this mega-apartment-in-the-sky looks down on the homes of Justin Timberlake, Rihanna, Beyoncé, and Mariah Carey- not really super surprising since the 56th floor home pretty much looks down on the entire city.

Please remove your shoes, "i'll just leave them on" proceeds to step on the bright white rugs
Hz... when she walked in.. I was like.. "And all that white rug/flooring" SMH.
hz ??? my dude we have the same initials. never met someone with HZ haha
even on the bed with shoes!
Her feet probably stink
@@flavioa6351 if she take off shoes there will be feet smell all over the penthouse so she left her on maybe 🤣
‘PH56’S rental price has since been lowered to $100,000 per month’
Wow! That makes everything so much better! I can finally afford this place!
VERY disrespectful not taking her shoes off... is this woman serious? Wow, fire her. Never allow her to do this again.
I'm a realtor in Manhattan and I am shocked. If this woman tried to step foot in the apartment I represent when instructed by the owners to take shoes off, I would NEVER let her in.
I know a lot of people who never wear shoes in their apartments. They are religious about it. NYC streets are extremely dirty. Shoes off at the door. Absolutely pathetic.
Take it easy bro, over a shoe? It's not like you don't crap at all!
@@teeeman3632 my dude its not easy cleaning a pent house everytime a guest steps in.
@@teeeman3632 Yes, over a shoe. It's nasty.
@@teeeman3632 no we won’t take it easy. That is disgusting.
Gibbs1966 same in canada
The art looks so out of place.
Khu NoPie yes
Good catch 👌
The art looks like they bought it at the thrift store, I'm sure it's pricey though.
Yeah, some of it's pretty awful. Not at all right for a place like this. Clearly didn't use a decorator.
Karen not taking her shoes off lmao
Need a new Realtor, and interior designer
The art doesn’t fit this contemporary building AT ALL 🤮
Right they belong in a museum not a modern condo lol
It may be for wealthy people with tacky sensibilities. I imagine an Italian or Greek boomer billionaire who hasn't changed since the 70s and still smokes indoors.
I don’t like that alexia asked her to take off her shoes
and she kept them on 😂😂
As a contractor who wanted to work in the “LEGO” building. I’m disappointed. Zero charm. The view is the only selling point. The congestion from rush hour and the overall pollution in that area is high.
It would've been the same even if you got the job.
@@dkmrap1 I have been in better town houses than this place.
I agree, from the outside, this building is ugly.
Wow, the entrance got me all excited for high high tech and we get sent back to the 1900’s!
And how much does it cost if u wanna buy it?
The window treatment is disappointing. Why didn’t they install light sensitive window glass panels?
That interior decor is such a turn off.
That woman is walking on the rugs with heels on. You can take this woman out off the trailer park, but you sure can't take the trailer park out of this woman
What if you remove all the art 😂😂.
Who has this kind of money and where do I sign up
Whats the name of the background music?
And if you get into insider trading with Bed, Bath and Beyond, the external view will get even more fantastic.
This apartment is cheesy
They hired the interior designer off Craigslist 😂
I could not live in that apartment ... not welcoming at all. I would be scared to death to go out on the balcony
I can’t believe she didn’t take her shoes off….soo rude and disrespectful!
Looks like the dude that fell today from that building found the key to the so-called window-door.
I thought all execs had golden parachutes.
You’re telling me the staged art is worth more than the apartment and expect me to believe that? Looks like art from the thrift store.
leave it to Becky/Karen to leave her shoes on when asked to take shoes off!!
Interior doesn't seems pretty good I mean it can be better.
The set up looks very tacky and cluttered
I like The Capital Room
2:13 so this is how the cfo killed himself
Amazing. Please select potential tenants more suitable to the property
123k a month and she doesn’t take her shoes off 🤦🏾tuff 😂
is Tony Montana living there ?
I think she should have taken her shoes off
I KNOW. She was wearing them in the bed too...unseasonly and classless 0_o
What a rude person not to take her shoes off. Only Europeans can understand
Those are the types of people who spread sickness or disease! Clearly there was a hygenic reason why she was asked to take her shoes off. Lily white carpet wall to wall and she still wasnt smart enough to get it! I actually stopped watching after I realized shecreally didn't take her shoes off sad and smh
@kristof I lived different European countries and met people way worse than her and very dirty and rude....
Lani Barton I wouldn’t have let her in!
The interior design makes no sense for such a modern building.
Scott P for this modern of a property, completely agree. Glad I wasn’t the only that caught that
Facts the furniture is horrible.
Me too. Did the owner actual hire an interior designer, the art looks terrible and the door windows look odd? I concur.
I 100% agree with you!
Yeah would request to receive the apartment empty and would put in much more modern furniture and art
The decor is horrible
Grant brown, i agree
Can we see yours?
The decor is disgusting like literally disrespectful to such a modern nice home with those views
For old man or old money, not for u, maybe!
Absolutely
Those shoes on the carpets. Yikes😬
Exactly!!!!
Why couldn't that women take off her shoes ..so dirty.
Because she can’t follow instructions. She’s dumb.
Bcoz she feels shes vip & relevant!
Uneducated, rude.. That shows her personality.. I wonder in her house if she has a sign to remove shoes and no one follows her recommendations.. Because that i gave thumbs down to this amazing apartment dream.. Sad
@Henry Louie don't bring race into it lol
Guy giving the tour should’ve told her to gtfoh
Thumbs down cause she didn’t take her shoes off smh
The interior is so off-putting. Horribly presented.
She really did leave her shoes on...no class at all.
You mean, no respect
probably cost more to clean from all the footprints of her shoe.
That is a very middle class thing. Remember, rich people own slaves to clean their homes.
You are encouraged to wear shoes at the Penthouse of Trump Tower. Watch some videos on it.
@GLAMOR SOCIAL I am a Trump supporter and I wouldn’t dare disrespect somebody’s house like that.
@@halfvolley11 There was a sign at the entrance saying don’t wear shoes. Watch a video or read a book on it

Half the comments are about this disrespectful lady leaving on her shoes. Other half is the ugly design 😆
Note to CNBC: get a new host
😂😂😂
Her manners are on par with the decor. 😆
What did the University in Alaska say about New York City? The media won't tell you so I will. ua-cam.com/video/LJPuWy9utss/v-deo.html
So disrespectful for Erica Wright not to take her shoes off. "I think I'm going to get away with mine on" what makes you so special?
She got away
no socks?
Where I live taking off shoes in homes is standard so this felt extra cringe, even though I think in the states it's more normal. to leave them on.
@@peterdormaar8517 i think she had no socks on. She would be walking bare feet in the house. That is probably worse
@@montiro8999 how is that worse? You saying her feet are more disgusting that the filthy souls of her shoes? Get real.

Haha! The video I watched just before this was a onebite!
Taking shoes off is basic education when entering other people's property. Specially if they ask you to do so. I got anxiety from this xD

She tours the most expensive penthouse but has no class to herself. #remove shoes pls
she probably had a hole in her socks
@@tyronetucker3093 lol
Amazing apartment, hideous decor!!!! Perhaps this is the main reason the rental price was reduced so much...maybe get Interior Marketing Group to stage instead and see what happens... Oh and CNBC, you might want to take notes about all the negative comments about your female host. It does say a lot about a person's character who does not respect a home owner's request like removal of shoes and such. Very bad reflection of herself and those she represents at her employment. At the very least from a viewer"s perspective it distracts from what should be the intention of the video which is the apartment itself, not a rude poster girl of self entitlement.
The furniture style is so bad! Really tacky
Leaving her shoes on while walking on white rugs wasn’t enough she also gets on the bed with her shoes on and puts them up on the comforter wow school can’t teach class smdh💯
Hands down the worst interior design I’ve ever seen. I like New York but that view is nothing to write home about. Thousands of other places around the globe with far better views.
New York has become overpriced and overrated.
Bill Simonsen You’re a joke.
Nah you definitely capping lol definitely no wear near the worst wtf 😂
The onlything I noticed, SHE DID NOT REMOVE HER SHOES!.. RESPECT..the owner.
My Asian mom would freak out for using outdoor shoes inside the house.
They just put that Alexa in for this video. Lol just laying on the floor cord all over the place. 🤦🏻
0:35 thanks to the lady i gave thumbs down.. If you don't respect owner house lieve the place.. Easy
I don't care you have 1 buck or billion.. That shows your personality and the respect you have for others..

Wow, so another "Karen" personified... shame on her and Shame on CNBC for supporting her flagrant disrespect.
“I think I’m going to leave my shoes 👠 on”.....
Her feet has corns or they stink🤧😂😂
Nail fungus. Fluconizol, 80mg every Friday for 4 months.
staging fail...
Please CNBC stop sending this lady to adventures if she’s not willing to listen or compromise 🤦♂️
Besides the view, what is so great about it?
Grandpas style?
Nothing
Why didn’t she take her shoes off?!!!
this is what happens when an owner doesn't hire a designer.
I would get " panic Attack " everyday just living at this buildings . so much furniture clutter inside the rooms .
woah the staging is terrible!
As Great as this country is, I wouldn’t want my bedroom to be full of pictures of presidents lol

I could find that type of art and furniture design literally in a trash out in the streets, it looks awful especially in such a modern nice home.
Like literally who staged it, remove that furniture and then we’re talking about a 123k rent
the house is amazing BUT the interior design is awful
The stager need to be fired AND never hired for ANYTHING ever again!!!!....I could never live that high......
Can't even have motion windows have to crank it lol
Does it have rent control? I can go as high as $600.00 a month. But only if you take out great grandpa's art work.
those statues are uuuuuglyyyyy maybe in a patio
this is the ugliest effing building i have ever seen and whoever would pay money for this should be banished from civilization and have their wealth repurposed
16 MILLION JAMAICAN DOLLARS. TO RENT DAT APARTMENT AH MONTH
The interior design is plain ugly, the paintings omg ! 😂 let’s not talk about the ugly furniture 😂
imagine watching the next alien invasion from the comfort of your spacious living room
I guess the Bed Bath Beyond CEO recently jumped for a Better deal.... 🙄
What a Karen move to not take your shoes off. I live in NYC and it's dirty AF and it's normal (and respectful) to take your shoes off before entering someone's home. Most people request it. And all those white carpets smh 🙄 But the decor is horrible so she couldn't have messed anything up anyway lol
Nice Apartment. The decor is monstrously ugly though.
What a shame that such a beautiful apartment is dressed in such a tacky and cheap manner.
Disgusting decor, especially the capital room
This is the worst staged megapartment ever ew makes me Wana throw up dude had a rocking chair in there wtf
i find nothing appealing about this place
it must be nice to have that kind of money
She was asked politely to remove her shoes. Rude of her.
Art and decor don't match the apartment at all, and actually detract from it. I am sure 19th century naturalism art movement is awesome, but it just doesn't mesh with ultra-modern ascetic of the place.
Not taking your shoes off is so impolite ... especially if the host asks you to. And also this apartment is so overpriced. It just doesn't make sense to me why on earth anyone would spend over 120.000$ a MONTH on rent when you could save this up for a year or two and buy an apartment that might not have that view but at least you own it. Plus, someone who has this much money probably isn't at home that much anyway. It's such a waste of space in a city that is so expensive already. And the interior truly is disappointing. They should have just gone to IKEA.
I like how he said "Alexa open door" and she replied "No we not there YET"
😂😂😂😂
Why the female gotta feel the need to deny the owners request to remove her shoes? The guy complied and respected the request but she’s like I’ll see how long I can get away with it. 🤦🏾♂️
he's 6'3 so Ray must be 5'1
The decor is just awful, and they ripped the original floors and kitchen out and replaced both with garbage. Why does the dining room look like a catered wedding? Was this an air b&b or did someone run some sort of tacky party business out of this space? And why does the art look like Thomas Kinkade?
That creepy building makes us want to take our lives , jumping off of it..as the latin american high rank executive that committed suicide this week...
Having all the doors to nowhere is weird and ruins the windows, the art belongs in a museum, the dining table looks like plastic rentals, the all white and chrome furniture is tacky. I'd rather live in a nice $3-5M apartment than this
